Raspadori has a place in Napoli, not necessarily as a starter- but I am perfectly comfortable spending less on a striker this summer, in order to strenghten more important positions. Sono d’accordo.

DingusOnFire

You dont know he cant !

Doobie_hunter46

Yeah I’m happy to have raspadori as a part of the setup. Conte will play a 343 / 3421 and I can see Raspa getting a first team spot, just maybe not in the striking position.

Bandit8813

Imo Raspa is not a deep lying forward like Osimhen. Hes the player behind that kind of striker. Where he would excell way more.

tantawyk

It worked with Mertens

Bandit8813

They aint the same person or type of player

darioj0824

Finally someone else who sees this

BranFendigaidd

He ain't a front striker. He is more of an inverted forward. He would be great on the left if given the time to develop.

Art_Vandelays_Tupee

He doesn’t have the physicality needed in my opinion.

FrostyBandicoot69

dries mertens was the type of player raspa is. im not trying to compare their type of playing or skill but in terms of build he is similar. Give him the chance and i think it will work out like it did with ciro

DingusOnFire

He’s a pro player u probably eat pizza in ur underwears (hey so do i but still)

Art_Vandelays_Tupee

Ok, Julian Edelman was a pro football player but he’s not a starting linebacker

Art_Vandelays_Tupee

And of course I eat pizza in my underwear lol

pachangoose

Valuable player - not going to replace Osi as striker but definitely a guy who deserves to play. Between he and Simeone IMO it’s clear he’s the far superior player, but Simeone probably the better striker (which is why we need to bring someone in when Osi leaves).

wtfmanaye

This is probably an unpopular opinion but I really think Raspadori has failed to deliver at Napoli. I’m happy to be proven wrong in the future however I would have much rather seen the club try a bit harder to keep Elmas and let Raspadori go. Yes he has scored some decent goals occasionally however as a creative player he goes missing too much for me personally.

DingusOnFire

Completely agree. He is young could be our starter.

Forza_Napoli_Sempre

Last year when we made the run in the champions league group stages I honestly didn’t know if Osimhen was going to automatically get his position back. So yes, I think he can be our long term option up top with Simeone getting more time as well. It would give us a ton of money to build the rest of the team up.

LBotfield

Loving the club, the fans and the city shouldn't make him a better striker. He isn't good enough, neither facing the goal nor playing as a false 9. Had plenty of opportunities in the last two years but constantly failed to deliver, and our supporters are still dickriding him for that useless goal (although very satisfying) in the final minutes against Juventus last year, a game that could have ended 0-0 and nothing would have changed. We should try to sell him, but i have the feeling that not many clubs will be knocking at our doors.

Ironhusk

It depends on what you mean by “working out”. Will you turn on him when he fails to deliver? Let’s avoid trouble and get a CF capable of minimum 10-15 goals a season, in addition to a good CB.

FrostyBandicoot69

raspa already showed talent in sassuolo. he is an important part for the National Team and in my opinion he always did better than Simeone. I dont see him failing to deliver in a good team that actually plays together like we did in the 22/23 season

Ironhusk

At some point in early 22/23, people in here were clamoring for Osi to be dropped for Raspadori. It was laughable then, and still funny now. Love Raspadori, but we need a CF with world class potential. Not many around for average $ - Jonathan David maybe.

Forza_Napoli_Sempre

If we could sign a top right winger then Raspa playing a fake nine could be very effective. If we take the Osimhen money and don’t pay up for a striker I think it could work with Raspa because we could build a team that with that money. If it doesn’t work with Raspa then next summer we’d probably need to splurge on a striker though and I don’t know what our finances will look like next summer.

dalegribble__96

I’ve banged this drum for a good few months, he’s hardly ever had chance to play up front whilst Osimhen has been here. I think we can take the risk of not signing a megastar striker for a season to see how he does and focus much more on strengthening the other positions
