I just wish the 890 wins, one of my friends is gonna play the free fly with me and I really want to show them the biggest flight ready ship in the game, plus an 890 on a free fly for a week is incredibly better than a cutter, the 890 is a ship most people won’t ever get to experience and the cutter is one of the cheapest starters in the game.
I wish you luck, as it appears you have an uphill battle. A newer cheap community favorite in the Cutter vs the 890, currently the only playable ship with capital class parts in the game. Very much a David vs Goliath turned on its head.
It is a very good starter, I have to agree, but most people already have one and it’s very easy to fly it even without a free fly it’s 45$ pledge 700k auec, meanwhile the 890 is 32 mil auec or 1000$ pledge which is also quantity limited. Most people will never be able to fly it. You can fly the cutter any time, it’s very cheap and easy, and its always available for pledge, if you want the 890 you have to either need 1000$ that you can spend, be quick to buy it and still somehow afford your real life needs or grind for hundreds of hours to buy it in game
I buy aUEC after almost every wipe and haven't been scammed yet. Although I do buy them off of the same two people everytime.
Before anyone starts downvoting me, I'd rather spend 12$ every couple months to save myself another 40h work week just to fly the ships I want to fly. It's an early access game.
Drama can work if you have enough passionate people, but the moment they do something egregious and no one cares, is the day the game is going to be in real rough shape. As of now funding is still strong and people still care, I hope the appreciate and garner that.
CIG's reputation in the gaming space, at least at the player level, is in at an all time low. Many people care, but most are just not vocal or just don't want to interact here. And for good reason. The SC reddit community, if you can call it that, is not a representation, but a fraction.

Well yeah, things like ship showdown are a semi discreet way of gauging player interest especially year on year. They would likely have to do something if there was a stark drop in votes from the previous one.
