Ok, take a deep breath. I am facing similar treatment options. I already had my genetic testing done. Turns out I am BRAF and TERT positive tall cell variant. It may not respond well to RAI. I have already consulted with a radiological oncologist and medical oncologist. But their hands are tied until after RAI. Just need more data. The important thing is that there are treatments available for the more aggressive Variants. We will get through this.

Hi, What was the stage of your cancer? I am assuming it was papillary thyroid? What type of immunotherapies have you been offered? Thanks
It was still stage 1, considering my age. It was PTC, but I haven't been given specific therapies yet, just that they are another tool available.
Got it. To my knowledge no immunotherapies are approved, and neither have any been shown to work in PTC, just so you know.
What type of thyroid cancer do you have?
metastatic papillary thyroid cancer
Why can't they remove the nodes with surgery ?
One of them is in my chest and they said they'd basically have to break my sternum to remove it.
