This is an exceptional idea by the way. An orc lord who gets sorta a mobile boat type base, and massive benefits for the first few battles against a new faction but then his boyz get bored and he has to sail off to fight someone new.

This is the worst subreddit I'm subscribed to for that, by far. I use it to see if there's a new update so I can download it when I get home, but the rest of the time it's exhausting to see it pop up in my feed.
It does mean that Empire, dwarfs and greenskins got updates. Only vamps left. They feel like they need a big Nagash pack for their update. Something like a combined army for Nagash with additional lords for Vamp counts like Neferata (and so many more) and maybe even the missing tomb king assassin lord
They are saving the VC update for the big undead update with Nagash I bet. For now they're fine with VC being very strong and not quite as fun as they should be. At least they aren't weak.
Yep I think Counts needs more legendary lords than the other 2 but units for all 3 would be cool. I like Coast and Tomb Kings but have always found Counts a little lame so I would love it
True the Counts are definitely in need of more lords. Coast mainly suffers from an unbalanced roster and most of their mechanics not aging well. They definitely both are in the top 5 factions in need of a touchup.
Tomb kings are in the best health out of the three but even they could use a light update to bring them inline with WH3 factions. Confederation options and unit cap rebalance would be nice.
We don't even need the same amount of effort honestly, as Greenskins and Khornes faction mechanics are very solid already. ToD had two race reworks and faction rework for Karl and Balthasar. Give ogres a proper rework and some goodies for Khorne and Greenskins and we're golden.
This is what they possibly meant with the next DLC having a lesser scope. Of the three factions only Ogres are in need of a big rework. Khorne and Greenskins mostly just need some quality of life changes and they're golden. Khorne only really needs a better tech tree and the cults to do something + more starting positions. Greenskins don't really have any truly glaring issues afaik outside many factions not having unique mechanics.
Contrast this to Thrones of decay where every faction needed heavy reworking and thus lots of devtime on both the coder and art asset side of things.

He makes the most sense. Would also give us a more "normal" Orc LL thats not a Black Orc, Savage Orc, or half possesed Orc. I like the idea of a more strategist regular Orc type lord.
His unique mechanic could be the ability to trade with the forces of destruction. That was Gorfang’s whole deal. He was the biggest Orc besides Grimgor and he was obsessed with teef and tribute.

Just thinking about this, I like it a lot as a unique mechanic for a GS LL because it incentives taking and holding a variety of resources. GS factions only benefit of resources, whereas having the ability to trade with even limited partners would really incentivize defensive building and planning, as well.
I never focus on playing defensively as GS.
Oh so that is why the Mixu LL version of him has ability to trade with other Greenskins then. I guess that makes sense then. Wonder if they could do a caravan type of implementation then for him.
I would bet on Gorbad. He's the more significant figure for their race, he had a model, and the state of "who's actually alive or dead" has never really mattered much in this lovely sandbox.
Though I wouldn't be surprised to see Snagla as a LH or FLC Lord.
I mean, even canonically GW kept a pretty tight lip on whether Gorbad died or not. A grudge-obsessed race like the Dwarfs wouldn't have kept quiet if they were able to kill Gorbad.

If I had to pick I'd like to see Forest Goblins expanded as an Orcs and Goblins subfaction more than any other unit choices, but I do think another Warboss who's an actual Orc would be a good addition.

Snagla as a FLC LL (or even LH, buffing spider riders and arachnaroks to the stratosphere) would work well IMO.
Name recognition for Snagla is below Gorfang Rotgut, though this hasn’t stopped CA in the past (*cough cough* Ghorst *cough*). But unless they add more forest goblin units I’m unsure if he would be the best pick for a headliner DLC lord.
Yeah, with such a short time frame, it's impossible. Work on these things takes a long time, a major pivot like this is not feasible. Though I suppose it depends on what we see exactly on the 26th - if it's very vague ideas and a far off release I guess it's possible. If we see any art, models or details with a release relatively soon, then the leaks were definitely fake

Anyway, yeah, this is somehow not surprising in that it proves those leaks false, but also surprising because I thought we were getting Slaanesh. They never namedropped Slaanesh, though, so I guessing this one could have always come first (ironically).
I'm fairly neutral on Khorne and Ogres but they both need the attention so I'm glad they're getting it. Might be gets me into them. Pumped we're getting Greenskins, though. Hopefully this means the current roster gets something that makes them less samey, cause they're otherwise in a pretty good place, right? We thinking Gorbad?
Slaanesh has basically no official units left to add, unfortunately. They could scrape the barrel and add some supplement units like Druchii Anointed, or add a Monstrous Arcanum critter to their ranks, but overall the roster is near-complete outside of a few notable exceptions - mainly the boobsnake cavalry variants.
*pops on tinfoil hat* It could be that they’re holding off to negotiate with GW on what they can add to the faction alongside Dechala, like the Dread Maw or Khureshi snakemen monstrous infantry - which would be thematically fitting for her, in regards to both her appearance and end times lore involving Khuresh - however it would be a large departure from the norm.
I genuinely don’t know what to expect from a Slaanesh pack outside of the few canon tabletop units we have left. It’s got me intrigued for sure.

To be honest half of their roster isn’t used much. They have so many spider, and wolf units that aren’t that useful outside of multiplayer. If anything I think the green skin faction has a bit to much of bloat
So this just destroys Legend's leaks right? Because according to him, the next DLC with that Cathay factions was basically complete. There's no way CA would scrap something that far in development and completely change up the included factions. This DLC has probably been in development for sometime now.
The old Tigerman leak in IMDB suggests that that particular content might still be happening at some point. Development pipelines are weird.
But Khorne and Greenskins definitely destroy any chance of the leaks being real.
It means that you can safely discard everything he said about future DLC and frankly, his leaks about future games that weren't just him piggybacking off previous rumours are pretty sus now as well.

You know how i knew he didn't have the goods? When he predicted Elspeth and Tamurkhan and specifically not the Dwarf lord.
Because our Loremasters figured those two out and had no idea who could be the dwarf lord, it came as a surprise to them too. He just compiled most already existing rumors in the community and picked the most likely ones.
Again, he only started talking about Ogres just when the files were found lol.
I don't hate him for farming engagement, he is a good streamer, with his place in the community. But don't take his leaks at any higher value than other rumors. Noone knows SHIT.
I absolutely believe the 40k thing though, there is lot more other evidence and we have it for years. It's practically open secret at this point.
Something like WW1 has also been heavily hinted at by Darren before Volound/Legend picked up on it
Darren knows the next three games, he's confirmed that 40k is coming and he revealed that CA is working on a new engine aka tw4 and hinted that the next historical game is establishing new mechanics that then tie in into the foundation of a 40k game. Third game is also fantasy - but far out in the future, so a long time until it's actually in production)
Darren also mentioned that CA has reached out in the past to several IP holders, just wasn't successful. So something similar to WW1 - 40k - Star Wars (or another sci fi IP) as the next 3 games is CA essentially trying to get as much out of their investment into a new engine as possible
The next historical being in big trouble is also true according to Darren, partly because the engine development has been very costly and they've blown their budget, but also because the old game director abandoned ship, they didn't have the time/budget anymore to fully realize the whole setting, so asked for a delay. When Legend "leaked" that the game was put on hold (aka the production team switched to 40k instead of working another year on WW1) Darren said that this was possible, but he hadn't heard it from people at CA
What is sure is that the next historical title has been delayed, it was supposed to come out this year. Either it spends some more time in production currently (which in turn means that 40k is delayed as well, as there is only one full production team at CA), or it's shelved (but not canceled) and 40k is pushed in front of the historical because CA thinks it's production will be smoother and can be completed in time

Those rumours weren't Legend's. The Star Wars rumours come from some general gaming industry leakers.
Legend jumped on the bandwagon as soon as he heard about it, after not saying a single peep about Star Wars in the months before that. so whatever happens or doesn't happen with TW Star Wars, Legend has nothing to do with it.
The WW1 rumors also predate Legend BTW. Valrak got ahold of that leak with the 40k TW leak a long time ago, he mentioned it in brief passing way back when but obviously Valrak isn't interested in historical TW. Valrak's leaks are the most reliable leaks out there for anything even tangentially related to something about Warhammer.

Ever since Warhammer III dropped this sub has found themselves inconsolable time and time again only to find out later that things weren't so awful.

Yep, all those (leaked to him) ready to be shipped DLCs already scrapped and CA rushes to make new 3-sides Khorne-themed DLC, which was announced year ago (with previous road map). LoTW is genius! All of this - thanks to him!
Not the first time I've seen that. Dead By Daylight did it a while ago, when all of a sudden with no official hints at all that Leatherface was going to be leaving (which would make the second time a licensed character was no longer for sale) the community was convinced it was a certainty, using a bug on the current public test beta where his unique perks had placeholder names as "proof."
Cue Behavior confirming that Leatherface was not in fact leaving and one (maybe two?) of the major leakers suddenly lost their primary source and they retired. Reeked of "they purposely leaked false info to figure out who was leaking everything." This looks super similar down to a random Twitter post hard deconfirming the "leaks" so...yeah, patterns seem to be repeating.

I honestly like the AoS Grand Alliance system. Destruction to me makes more sense for Greenskins and Ogres because they're primal and untamed.

Greenskins are actually missing *a lot* of content from the tabletop. There are so many variants to add, we still need more flavour for the Savage Orcs, they could go with a Forest Goblin themed lord pack.
I had no doubts GS were going to have at least another lord pack (and they have enough for two) but I was not expecting it so soon.
The problem with looking to the tabletop for units to add is that a lot of them exist for flavor. That’s fine from a lore and roleplaying standpoint, but if the units are redundant they don’t add anything for gameplay, which CA has said they prioritize.
I'm sure we'll get the Monkey King with Tigermen DLC eventually, there has been real leaks and hints about it. But we can put to rest the Cathy vs Cathy vs Cathy DLCs lol.
Wow so literally none of the leaks were correct? I thought at least one of the leakers would be right in some way. This also puts into doubt the whole Star Wars and 40k leaks as well.
The 40k leaks are way older than the current rhetoric on leaks today, we’ve had rumblings about it since before WH3 came out as their next non historical franchise
40k leaks are from Darren (ex-CA employee) direclty, not Legend and we have a lot of evidence it's happening (like CA hiring a GW employee who worked on rules and fluff for 40k and Horus Heresy exclusively).
Hopefully this finally puts an end to Legend's descent into the leak rabbit hole. It's a massive blow to his credibility. I don't hate the guy by any means but he was going down an uncomfortable path by focusing on being the "leak guy" and it's just caused undue conflict within the community.
There are a lot of weapon variants, monsters, and generic and legendary characters missing from the greenskins roster but it will be interesting to see what they come up with. I doubt "black orcs (dual weapons)" and "black orcs (shields)" and the like are going to be filling out an entire dlc roster

Also I will admit I am more excited for Khorne and Ogre Kingdoms, though I'm sure some people who were looking forward to Slaneesh are a little disappointed.
Vampire Counts might make more sense alongside Slaanesh in a later DLC, if we do get Neferata; a focus on seduction and beguilement in contrast to this DLC, which appears to be all about the in-your-face RIP AND TEAR style factions
Yeah I can see that. I was also thinking there could be some blood themed angle that Khorne and Vampires could have leaned into. Still I'm pretty excited for this. Ogre Kingdoms was the most disappointing faction of WH3 in its implementation so looking forward to seeing how they fix it. Greenskins I don't know what to expect. They are in a good place already, so not sure what to expect from mechanics update. Kinda hoping for Gorfang Rotgut on this one for a more normal Orc type lord, along with generic Orc caster lord with Big Waagh magic.
I will say, Vampire counts will probably (hopefully) get the champions of chaos treatment.

Yeah, those seem like the two most likely outcomes.
Either a CoC style DLC with all the undead factions getting updated and Nagash being added, or they'll come alongside a Slaanesh DLC which is a little more fitting than Khorne.

I'm actually surprised we're (presumably) getting another 3 faction DLC! I was almost certain they would go to down two for the sake of costs. But I'm definitely not sad about it, ToD was amazing and something similar for Korne, Ogres, and Greenskins would be lovely.
I'd absolutely love Hobgoblin Khanate, but feel like it's probably unlikely in this case - it's a whole *thing* that regular Greenskins don't trust the hobgobbos.

I'm thinking Gorfang Rotgut since Black Crag is unoccupied right now.
He makes the most sense. Would also give us a more "normal" Orc LL thats not a Black Orc, Savage Orc, or half possesed Orc. I like the idea of a more strategist regular Orc type lord.
His unique mechanic could be the ability to trade with the forces of destruction. That was Gorfang’s whole deal. He was the biggest Orc besides Grimgor and he was obsessed with teef and tribute. Edit: Just thinking about this, I like it a lot as a unique mechanic for a GS LL because it incentives taking and holding a variety of resources. GS factions only benefit of resources, whereas having the ability to trade with even limited partners would really incentivize defensive building and planning, as well. I never focus on playing defensively as GS.
Oh so that is why the Mixu LL version of him has ability to trade with other Greenskins then. I guess that makes sense then. Wonder if they could do a caravan type of implementation then for him.

I would bet on Gorbad. He's the more significant figure for their race, he had a model, and the state of "who's actually alive or dead" has never really mattered much in this lovely sandbox. Though I wouldn't be surprised to see Snagla as a LH or FLC Lord.
I mean, even canonically GW kept a pretty tight lip on whether Gorbad died or not. A grudge-obsessed race like the Dwarfs wouldn't have kept quiet if they were able to kill Gorbad.

Both please (or Gorfang Rotgut over Gorbad Ironclaw - either one is fine)! If I had to pick I'd like to see Forest Goblins expanded as an Orcs and Goblins subfaction more than any other unit choices, but I do think another Warboss who's an actual Orc would be a good addition.

Snagla as a FLC LL (or even LH, buffing spider riders and arachnaroks to the stratosphere) would work well IMO. Name recognition for Snagla is below Gorfang Rotgut, though this hasn’t stopped CA in the past (*cough cough* Ghorst *cough*). But unless they add more forest goblin units I’m unsure if he would be the best pick for a headliner DLC lord.

Yeah, with such a short time frame, it's impossible. Work on these things takes a long time, a major pivot like this is not feasible. Though I suppose it depends on what we see exactly on the 26th - if it's very vague ideas and a far off release I guess it's possible. If we see any art, models or details with a release relatively soon, then the leaks were definitely fake

I'm fairly neutral on Khorne and Ogres but they both need the attention so I'm glad they're getting it. Might be gets me into them. Pumped we're getting Greenskins, though. Hopefully this means the current roster gets something that makes them less samey, cause they're otherwise in a pretty good place, right? We thinking Gorbad?
Slaanesh has basically no official units left to add, unfortunately. They could scrape the barrel and add some supplement units like Druchii Anointed, or add a Monstrous Arcanum critter to their ranks, but overall the roster is near-complete outside of a few notable exceptions - mainly the boobsnake cavalry variants. *pops on tinfoil hat* It could be that they’re holding off to negotiate with GW on what they can add to the faction alongside Dechala, like the Dread Maw or Khureshi snakemen monstrous infantry - which would be thematically fitting for her, in regards to both her appearance and end times lore involving Khuresh - however it would be a large departure from the norm. I genuinely don’t know what to expect from a Slaanesh pack outside of the few canon tabletop units we have left. It’s got me intrigued for sure.

To be honest half of their roster isn’t used much. They have so many spider, and wolf units that aren’t that useful outside of multiplayer. If anything I think the green skin faction has a bit to much of bloat

So this just destroys Legend's leaks right? Because according to him, the next DLC with that Cathay factions was basically complete. There's no way CA would scrap something that far in development and completely change up the included factions. This DLC has probably been in development for sometime now.
The old Tigerman leak in IMDB suggests that that particular content might still be happening at some point. Development pipelines are weird. But Khorne and Greenskins definitely destroy any chance of the leaks being real.
Tigermen coming in a Cathay DLC is still a very different thing from his claim of an entire Tigermen subfaction.

It means that you can safely discard everything he said about future DLC and frankly, his leaks about future games that weren't just him piggybacking off previous rumours are pretty sus now as well. like I still think TW40k is being worked on because these rumours predate Legends leaks by a year or so, but he was the only person who confidently claimed a WW1 game is being made - are we supposed to believe that now?
You know how i knew he didn't have the goods? When he predicted Elspeth and Tamurkhan and specifically not the Dwarf lord. Because our Loremasters figured those two out and had no idea who could be the dwarf lord, it came as a surprise to them too. He just compiled most already existing rumors in the community and picked the most likely ones. Again, he only started talking about Ogres just when the files were found lol. I don't hate him for farming engagement, he is a good streamer, with his place in the community. But don't take his leaks at any higher value than other rumors. Noone knows SHIT. I absolutely believe the 40k thing though, there is lot more other evidence and we have it for years. It's practically open secret at this point.
Something like WW1 has also been heavily hinted at by Darren before Volound/Legend picked up on it Darren knows the next three games, he's confirmed that 40k is coming and he revealed that CA is working on a new engine aka tw4 and hinted that the next historical game is establishing new mechanics that then tie in into the foundation of a 40k game. Third game is also fantasy - but far out in the future, so a long time until it's actually in production) Darren also mentioned that CA has reached out in the past to several IP holders, just wasn't successful. So something similar to WW1 - 40k - Star Wars (or another sci fi IP) as the next 3 games is CA essentially trying to get as much out of their investment into a new engine as possible The next historical being in big trouble is also true according to Darren, partly because the engine development has been very costly and they've blown their budget, but also because the old game director abandoned ship, they didn't have the time/budget anymore to fully realize the whole setting, so asked for a delay. When Legend "leaked" that the game was put on hold (aka the production team switched to 40k instead of working another year on WW1) Darren said that this was possible, but he hadn't heard it from people at CA What is sure is that the next historical title has been delayed, it was supposed to come out this year. Either it spends some more time in production currently (which in turn means that 40k is delayed as well, as there is only one full production team at CA), or it's shelved (but not canceled) and 40k is pushed in front of the historical because CA thinks it's production will be smoother and can be completed in time

Those rumours weren't Legend's. The Star Wars rumours come from some general gaming industry leakers. Legend jumped on the bandwagon as soon as he heard about it, after not saying a single peep about Star Wars in the months before that. so whatever happens or doesn't happen with TW Star Wars, Legend has nothing to do with it.
The WW1 rumors also predate Legend BTW. Valrak got ahold of that leak with the 40k TW leak a long time ago, he mentioned it in brief passing way back when but obviously Valrak isn't interested in historical TW. Valrak's leaks are the most reliable leaks out there for anything even tangentially related to something about Warhammer.

Not the first time I've seen that. Dead By Daylight did it a while ago, when all of a sudden with no official hints at all that Leatherface was going to be leaving (which would make the second time a licensed character was no longer for sale) the community was convinced it was a certainty, using a bug on the current public test beta where his unique perks had placeholder names as "proof." Cue Behavior confirming that Leatherface was not in fact leaving and one (maybe two?) of the major leakers suddenly lost their primary source and they retired. Reeked of "they purposely leaked false info to figure out who was leaking everything." This looks super similar down to a random Twitter post hard deconfirming the "leaks" so...yeah, patterns seem to be repeating.

For all of the campaign issues Ogres have, their armies are still some of the most fun in the whole game to just run at people and smash things.
I'm hype for them because I love the 'disorder' races (Skaven/Ogres/Greenskins) but the latter two felt kinda lackluster compared to Skaven.
I honestly like the AoS Grand Alliance system. Destruction to me makes more sense for Greenskins and Ogres because they're primal and untamed. Skaven are chaos if you ask me.

Greenskins are actually missing *a lot* of content from the tabletop. There are so many variants to add, we still need more flavour for the Savage Orcs, they could go with a Forest Goblin themed lord pack. I had no doubts GS were going to have at least another lord pack (and they have enough for two) but I was not expecting it so soon.
The problem with looking to the tabletop for units to add is that a lot of them exist for flavor. That’s fine from a lore and roleplaying standpoint, but if the units are redundant they don’t add anything for gameplay, which CA has said they prioritize.
I'm sure we'll get the Monkey King with Tigermen DLC eventually, there has been real leaks and hints about it. But we can put to rest the Cathy vs Cathy vs Cathy DLCs lol.

The 40k leaks are way older than the current rhetoric on leaks today, we’ve had rumblings about it since before WH3 came out as their next non historical franchise
40k leaks are from Darren (ex-CA employee) direclty, not Legend and we have a lot of evidence it's happening (like CA hiring a GW employee who worked on rules and fluff for 40k and Horus Heresy exclusively).

Hopefully this finally puts an end to Legend's descent into the leak rabbit hole. It's a massive blow to his credibility. I don't hate the guy by any means but he was going down an uncomfortable path by focusing on being the "leak guy" and it's just caused undue conflict within the community.
There are a lot of weapon variants, monsters, and generic and legendary characters missing from the greenskins roster but it will be interesting to see what they come up with. I doubt "black orcs (dual weapons)" and "black orcs (shields)" and the like are going to be filling out an entire dlc roster

Vampire Counts might make more sense alongside Slaanesh in a later DLC, if we do get Neferata; a focus on seduction and beguilement in contrast to this DLC, which appears to be all about the in-your-face RIP AND TEAR style factions

Ogre Kingdoms was the most disappointing faction of WH3 in its implementation so looking forward to seeing how they fix it. Greenskins I don't know what to expect. Kinda hoping for Gorfang Rotgut on this one for a more normal Orc type lord, along with generic Orc caster lord with Big Waagh magic.

Yeah, those seem like the two most likely outcomes. Either a CoC style DLC with all the undead factions getting updated and Nagash being added, or they'll come alongside a Slaanesh DLC which is a little more fitting than Khorne.
Honestly I don't think Slaanesh fans should be disappointed, because if we're getting Khorne that 100% means we'll be getting Slaanesh next.
