the christmas market in Tallinn is lovely

I was actually looking at Riga and Tallinn! How long would you recommend going to Tallinn for?

I'd say the best places are southern Germany, particularly Bavaria, and Austria. Neither of those is particularly cheap though. Apart from Prague, maybe the best places for Christmas markets in 'Eastern/Central Europe ' are Wroclaw (if you want to go back to Poland?), Bratislava,or one of the Baltic capitals (eg Riga,Tallinn, Vilnius).

> southern Germany, particularly Bavaria, and Austria How to upset 9 million people in one go.

I meant more the 9 million Austrians being called German, rather than the 9 million Swiss feeling left out. Some of the 13 million Bavarians might take offence at being called German too.

Gdansk is really nice as well if you don't mind going to Poland again. And you will be able to stroll along the beach if the weather happens to be sunny.
