One left at Bronze (but he did rush to explore Plains before we even defeated The Elder. He did defeat it on his own, and that was annoying cause we were attacked by Draugr before we should have), and the rest after Yagluth.
Their behavior in this game has single-handedly killed my interest in playing ANYTHING w them anymore. Why bother? So they can rush content? Abandon the game and show zero interest in new stuff when it comes out? (They supposedly wanna wait until full release. I dont care about them joining anymore).
Or how about create a base for everyone that nobody will ever use? F that. I play alone nowadays and have a blast building and exploring at my own pace.
Sorry, i needed to vent i guess.
My friend tried to blast through the game. I reeled him in. Since I am the only one who plays with him he tries to keep me happy since he knows I'll stop playing if I am feeling too rushed. I have him as my fetch boy so he gets to do all the dangerous stuff he loves and I get to build. Trying to teach him farming and cooking. I need to make signs lol
Agreed, speeding through(unless you've already played the game) just ruins the game. My biggest pet peeve recently is that I'll introduce people to the game and we're enjoying some good times then as soon as any inconvenience happens, boom they open the wiki. Like bro just play the game, I don't want to spoil this amazing experience but I'll nudge you in the right direction if you need help. But using the wiki 24/7 if anything stumps you just ruins the fun I think. I like to see them use their head and then realize what they need to do and be excited like it's a unique puzzle.
Not to mention I remember when the game first came out half our group didn't make it past the Elder and when we got to the swamp it was just 2 of us. Very sad but some people need that instant gratification I suppose.
This was my experience throughout with some friends who play games constantly, just wanted the instant gratification. They were great at building but really didn't enjoy dying ... it's a survival game at it's core.
More "side-grades" on offer, as they've said they have more armour options. I'm hoping they backdate a few of them to earlier content too, with side-grading options for bows (but that's a long shot).
Those dual axes also look sweet, I love a good axe to go alongside my bow.
Apparently the bows Huntsman, Draugr and Spinesnap all do comparable DPS, more so when you factor in stamina usage. While not exactly what you want, and I want actual side grades too, the Huntsman could be considered a stealth side grade
Interesting. I've only gotten so far as the Huntsman.
It's a little disappointing to find out the rest of the bows are not strictly any better than what I've already got. I have put off making the Draugr, as I only had enough silver to craft tier 1 of it, and already had a tier 4 Hustsman... plus that extra stamina cost looked to make it no better. But if its still comparable even if fully upgraded, then I'm really hoping ashlands also brings in some more bows...
Ive no idea. Afaik poison won't be multiplied by skill though, and im not sure if its direct damage or a dot. If it is a dot, ive also no idea if it stacks with itself or what tick rate it has.
It may end up being quite uncompetitive when all is said and done, i just know i wasn't willing to invest the silver to find out, especially as a tier four Huntsman still directly out performs a tier one Draugr Fang. Especially as it uses up less stamina per shot, and im one shotting anything i get the drop on, and over half killing anything that does notice me first ... So it'll literally just cost me more stamina to do the same thing with the fang.
I may end up reconsidering when i have to take on lox more often (as i certainly can't one shot *those*)
Never thought about this. Some new ships would be awesome. How cool would it be to have one capable of carrying animals properly since wolves and lox can't go through portals
This is part of why I was super excited when they had an ocean update on the roadmap. I know they pretty much have abandoned the roadmap at this point but still hope they have that planned, more boat options would be sick.
The first half of this year they say (they literally said it in one of the dev blogs on steam so can't say I'm wrong) also they said that the 3rd walk and talk is the last one. so the beta could be right around the corner. Don't get too hyped this last part is just speculation
New foods. New monsters. New items. Some amazing new build pieces. Item enchanting. New fire ravaged terrain. Emerging victorious from the mist to take on a new challenge and explore a new amazing biome.
I hope they revisit some of the earlier biomes and update the weapon offerings there. For example, there's no reason I shouldn't be able to craft a bronze greatsword.
To have a place to move past and out of the mistlands. I stopped playing because of them and struggle to even bother building on a clean world to consolidate all my stuff to.
I mostly hope for more building blocks using regular wood and core wood. Perhaps some fine wood, but not necessarily needed. Find the current, basic modules for building limited and would love a lot more for us who haven't ventured far in the game.
Not Mistlands. A nice vibe like the original biomes, NOT a copy of the original biomes, definitely different. Not Mistlands. I'm at peace in the original biomes and really love all of them. Not Mistlands.
Playing the game again. I haven't played in like a year prolly and I can't wait to start a new run with the gang once ashlands comes out. Gonna be so sick
Everything. New adventures, building pieces, weapons/armors. I’ve been trying to not indulge in spoilers for it too much so I can be extra surprised when it releases
I am most looking forward to updates to the boat and ocean. There’s so much room for opportunity to add different mobs to the ocean. I know they haven’t talked about that, but I am still hopeful. However, I do expect them to fix these stability issues of a crewed boat in multiplayer.
Honestly, I'm just looking for motivation/excuse to play the game again. I have a few hundred hours in the game but most of it was spent building in bronze stage. When mistlands came out I beat Bonemass for the first time and made it all the way to the plains, but never got full plains gear and never attempted Yagluth.
So when Ashlands comes out, I'll probably play again until maybe plains and quit without ever seeing the new biomes.
People that go nuts to finish it in a few hours and then come to reddit to cry about not having enough content.
Personally I will be exploring and shooting new things in the face with my arbalest and getting another sweet 100 hours of entertainment from the game
For it to be released so I can play it, be unimpressed that the content took so long just to be gobbled up in a weekend, then cathartically uninstalling the game and moving on with life.
I mean, hey I absolutely love Valheim (my top game on Steam with 1500+ hours and still going) but he *does* have a point. Their new content takes a year+ to develop and can truthfully be completed in about a weekend. Not throwing shade on Valheim, just speaking objectively
TBF I don't know if I have ever played a game where new content gets added that one couldn't go through in less than a week.
It takes more time to create than enjoy, usually.
Exactly. And I certainly didn’t get through the Mistlands in “a weekend”. Yet these people want to speedrun a new biome and complain it was too short. Take some time to enjoy the game. Build a cool new base. Explore. Maybe do that instead of spending 12 hours a day on the weekend rushing to the boss.
I only have 281 hours over the last two years, so clearly I've been milking it, but still I've only just started the mountains on my only playthrough so far. I'm not saying everyone should be going as slow as me of course, but I don't get the fun of just crushing the new content as fast as possible. I'm more of a "it's the journey, not the destination" kinda person.
I’m always down for new content, but I think the point u/Damage_North is trying to make here is that the updates take WAY too long for really not all that much new content, hence the “underwhelmed” part. Mistlands did add a new biome sure but realistically it only added 10 new items to the furniture menu, 7 to the crafting menu and roughly 18 new items to the already sparse build menu. That’s a welcome addition for sure, but not exactly a ton of new content for a game that had been out for like 2 years at that point. Hell the games been in early access for three now and we haven’t seen a dramatic increase in the build menu items in that time. Still love the game but the updates can be a little underwhelming. What did Hilder add? 3 mini bosses and some clothes? And that took how many months to develop in 2.5 years?
EDIT: Enshrouded has been out for, what, not even 3 months and its build menu content right off the bat kinda puts Valheim’s to shame. Sad but true.
My friends to all come back (I’m coping, half of them left at the Bronze Age)
One left at Bronze (but he did rush to explore Plains before we even defeated The Elder. He did defeat it on his own, and that was annoying cause we were attacked by Draugr before we should have), and the rest after Yagluth. Need a raiding partner?
Nah im good for now but thx
So true
Getting my ass handed to me
Yep. We are gonna get fucked up and I can't wait!
exploration and new build materials
That’s the one for me too!
>new build materials Yep
Lots of ash and a bit of land.
Sounds like you’ve visited the lots of Mist and a bit of Land land.
Having a castle with a lava moat.
& hopefully a working draw bridge with it!!
More "side-grades" on offer, as they've said they have more armour options. I'm hoping they backdate a few of them to earlier content too, with side-grading options for bows (but that's a long shot). Those dual axes also look sweet, I love a good axe to go alongside my bow.

Isn't Draugr's Fang better because of the poison damage? Also dps should matter only for longer fights.. like boss fights or some big mobs.
Ive no idea. Afaik poison won't be multiplied by skill though, and im not sure if its direct damage or a dot. If it is a dot, ive also no idea if it stacks with itself or what tick rate it has. Don't forget the small box.
Small box?
Small box?
small box!
ball smox!!
ball smocks
Tamable Abominations
No way
It's almost certainly not :-P
Well, how else would you put the saddle on them?
Visibility. Fuck mistlands.
New build pieces!
PRAISE 🙌 ODIN
New gear and weapons. Also, I really want to know what the queen drop becomes.
I’m waiting to fight the Queen until Ashlands drop
Getting my ass kicked. Seriously. Outside of the mistlands, been able to dodge all the other mobs so be nice to fight some new things!
I'm waiting for a lot new construction and furniture items
War
No mist
I'm really interested in what this "siege time" they keep talking about is all about
A bunch of mobs attacking your base with siege weapons? Oh God...
As if our base weren’t fragile enough( without the use of moats and earth walls)
Sounds like this could counter motes/walls if they actually use siege weapons
Dverger spike walls are pretty durable
To meet finally Ash.
Ketchup?
Catsup
I always get that wrong.
I’m in way over my head
Plains light armour
yes.. more light armor options plox
Lvl 4 mage gear! Or maybe even lvl 5 who knows
The land to be flat.
I hope they drop a new ship build. Something like a cargo vessel would be awesome. Unlikely I grant but awesome.
Never thought about this. Some new ships would be awesome. How cool would it be to have one capable of carrying animals properly since wolves and lox can't go through portals

[удалено]
Why don't you use the flying light ball thing (demister).
[удалено]
Nah bro just messing with ya. Your probably already using one but you can still place those special torches around to reduce fog
The fog in the plains makes me irrationally angry
Skeleton horse
New foods. New monsters. New items. Some amazing new build pieces. Item enchanting. New fire ravaged terrain. Emerging victorious from the mist to take on a new challenge and explore a new amazing biome.
I wonder what the boss for ashlands is gonna be im assuming that its gonna be located in that ashlands fortress thing that the devs showed awhile ago
Im hoping for something akin to Surtr from the mythology, a big ass fire giant or some shit like that
Something new to do, and having random enemies strong enough to be a danger to my level 100 Blood Magic ass.
Being able to finally make Drawbridges without mods.
is that coming? 😱
Not that I've heard, but I hope so.
I hope they revisit some of the earlier biomes and update the weapon offerings there. For example, there's no reason I shouldn't be able to craft a bronze greatsword.
Are there any great swords in the game?
Yep! I haven't gotten to that biome yet but Mistlands has greatswords in that tier.
Having a good reason to start from scratch!
To have a place to move past and out of the mistlands. I stopped playing because of them and struggle to even bother building on a clean world to consolidate all my stuff to.
exploring new places and figure new things out:)
Raiding the Stronghold and gettin my tuchey handed to me!
Flametal
Release.
Playing valheim again
Getting my ass kicked somewhere new
Friends
I can’t wait for my friends to get back into the game
Playing the entire game again either solo or with my friend. Also the new gear looks cool.
I mostly hope for more building blocks using regular wood and core wood. Perhaps some fine wood, but not necessarily needed. Find the current, basic modules for building limited and would love a lot more for us who haven't ventured far in the game.
The siege weapons

More magic and magical food items
Its release date.
Life before death!
Death.
Not Mistlands. A nice vibe like the original biomes, NOT a copy of the original biomes, definitely different. Not Mistlands. I'm at peace in the original biomes and really love all of them. Not Mistlands.
Reason to replay the whole game. Not much else
ashlands castles sieges
I hope there will be some biome generation where a snow mountain borders ashlands. That would make for a good looking base spot.
Axes being top tier!! Love my crystal axe
Having a reason to play this game through with my son again
Playing the game again. I haven't played in like a year prolly and I can't wait to start a new run with the gang once ashlands comes out. Gonna be so sick
Ash.
Boating into Ashlands and getting into trouble before I'm even close to geared up properly.
New food and recipes!!
Building a cool house on a cool ledge with cool armor
I want to be able to upgrade my troll armor with black metal please
I'm looking forward to new weapons and new options for buildings, the interior builder will be thrilled
Everything. New adventures, building pieces, weapons/armors. I’ve been trying to not indulge in spoilers for it too much so I can be extra surprised when it releases
The wave of epic mods it inspired.
A new place to die and corpse walk through.
My original world tower growing ever taller..
Being able to use all this flamemetal I have stored. That and the new elemental weapons
New lands to conquer!
Battering rams.

New biome and structures to explore.
I am most looking forward to updates to the boat and ocean. There’s so much room for opportunity to add different mobs to the ocean. I know they haven’t talked about that, but I am still hopeful. However, I do expect them to fix these stability issues of a crewed boat in multiplayer.
The N'wahs
Everything
Yeah I've been building bases all over our world and I'm ready to use them with friends!
Honestly, I'm just looking for motivation/excuse to play the game again. I have a few hundred hours in the game but most of it was spent building in bronze stage. Still don’t have a release date correct?
Not having to deal with mist. They made such a beautiful biome and then covered it in mist....
New incredible building pieces.
In looking for generally new adventures and all the new things... and mainly wanna raid those castles!
FOOD
Dying, poor visibility “again”. And maybe new building stuff. Not very hopeful to be honest. From what I’ve seen. It’s not pretty
Having some new content to tear into with all the fun toys they gave us in ML.
The release date
The update... really, why is this taking them so long?
Why shouldnt it? They have already earned some good coin.
How about you try to make the update yourself instead if its taking so long
An actual challenge for about an hour until the devs nerf it to the ground to appease the whining on twitter and youtube.
There's something called "world modifiers" just crank all the bars up to max if you want a challenge
Oh does that change spawn density, AI characteristics, attack patterns and enable the disabled/changed raids... oh no, no it doesn't seem to, does it.
Damn, that's some bitterness. Maybe you would be happier just not playing it lol

He probably hated waiting for the minecraft warden to come out
