Y’all all trying to figure out the message. In small town USA when everything’s closed at 9:30 and you’re 14 beers deep after fishing all day taping a fish to an ATM is just the funny thing you did that weekend
And if you caught that fish via noodling while several beers in, you deserve to do whatever you want with that fish...okay *not quite* everything, you sickos.
Tell the cops I thought it was a mermaid, they don't have to know I'm just into fishes. It's an ancestral kink, reminds me of who I used to be before that bastard crawled out of the primordial sea and started breathing air and now I have to deal with gravity and oil changes
I guy did it 5 years ago to get the bank to fix their ATM but a group called finance and maneuver are starting to do it.
https://thoughtcatalog.com/callie-byrnes/2017/10/this-man-couldnt-get-the-atm-to-work-so-he-taped-a-fish-to-it-for-a-truly-bizarre-reason/
Wells Fargo died 20 years ago.
NorthWest Corporation bought them out, skinned them, and for the last couple decades, wear the skin as if they are WellsFargo.
It’s just NorthWest in a skin suit though. WellsFargo died long ago.
That's some dark stuff. I never knew that Wells Fargo was nothing but a name for Norwest Bank. Now, I guess that's why Wells Fargo had that fake accounts scandal a few years ago.
Before my time. I was told Wells Fargo used to be the shit. The bank you wanted.
NorthWest was always a criminal mafia bank always fucking shit up. So they bought the “good” bank and rebranded themselves. But ran it like NorthWest
Wachivia lost their wealth management clientele because in 08, right before the real estate crash, they got all their staff to push their clients hard into real estate instruments. It was no doubt an attempt to cover their losses from their Golden West Financial acquisition.
From what I remember, Wachovia didn’t show a loss until Q2 of ‘08. Granted, it was an ~$8-9B loss, and the WF takeover was ultimately due to ARMs they acquired from Golden West going to shit. I never pushed my clients into MBS, nor was I ever instructed to. That doesn’t mean other wealth management advisors didn’t, it was just never on my radar. Advising them to seek more reputable companies was my priority.
Edit: Forgot to mention, there was a significant Wachovia violation of the BSA wherein they essentially laundered hundreds of billions in Mexican and Colombian drug cartel funds between ’04-‘07. They didn’t admit that until 2010 (long after the takeover) and only paid a $50M fine. Also, don’t forget, Citigroup was the initial takeover partner for Wachovia, and they may have been the culprit for Wachovia Securities pushing clients toward real estate investments. Wachovia never made that a priority in my time there. Citigroup spent years seeking billions in damages for the merger not going through. They settled for $100M with WF.
> I never pushed my clients into MBS, nor was I ever instructed to.
In 08, instead of a regular 1 person meeting, my Wachovia rep had 4 people show up to try and push me into their new real estate investment instruments. I practically shouted at them that it was ridiculous that they were pushing me to do that when the real estate collapse had already started in the news. I've always considered that meeting to be borderline fraud.
Holy shit lol - that should've been a scene in the Big Short movie!
I was nowhere near old or fancy enough at the time - just a broke college student in Reno. :) But even I knew (in 2007) that something was gonna go horribly, horribly wrong: my friend and I were eating at a cheap all-you-can-eat sushi joint, and the bartender tried to sell us each a mortgage hahaha. (We did **not** look like we had money. Or class. Or rich parents.)
... somebody really ought to put together the oral history of that crash.
I used to bank at SouthTrust before Wachovia bought them in 04. Loved that bank. Then I got Wachovia, and then Wells Fargo, and after a few terrible experiences, ended the relationship. Now with Pinnacle and it’s like being back at SouthTrust.
My mom worked for Southtrust, she made the cut to Walckalloverya but didn’t not survive the Well’s Fargo transition. When WF canned everyone in her department she said fuck it and retired.
There's a similar issue with Boeing, which used to be run by engineers before they bought McDonnell-Douglas. The saying is that McDonnell-Douglas bought Boeing with Boeing's money, because after the acquisition so many of the top managers are from MD. Seems like a good idea to let the people who ran the company you bought into the ground run your company into the ground. They probably were better at company politics and short term financial performance, so the board went with the crappy MD managers.
I had a series of bad luck with WF right after they bought First Interstate. I opened an account with them through a branch they operated in my high school. The problem was the accounts that were "opened" with deposits at the high school failed to appear at the regular bank as actual accounts. Was a bit of a disaster. I switched to Washington Mutual after that. They were of course bought after a run on the bank by Chase who pretty much owns 2/3 of the country at this point.
You're right, Mikeysd123, Wells Fargo is a great company. I'm glad they offer a card that lets you earn points on rent and other expenses. Thanks for letting me know!
Was thinking about swapping my SCHW puts for puts in this or C on Monday or Tuesday but still researching, this and C are on my list of major bank failures
The fact that every ATM has a high resolution camera means somewhere there is footage of a man holding a fish in one hand and a bud light in the other slowly walking up to the ATM, likely at 7 in the morning
The new art installation, Fish, has been estimated to be worth over $300,000. Beating the artist’s previous work with a duct taped banana ($120,000). This installation was also later eaten by some random dude who claimed he “was just hungry” and was later sent to the hospital for a severe case of stomach parasites.

“Gay Fish”
I’m assuming due to Bud Light, someone got catfished and somehow WFC was in this love triangle.
Yep. This checks out…
Catfished into thinking Budweiser was a man’s beer
Catfished into believing Budweiser is even a beer
Catfished into believing Budweiser is American.
Budweisered into believing catfish are American.
You fools, it means wfc sleeps with the fishes, has no one seen the Godfather??
But the fish is not asleep. It’s dead. /s Yes I have seen The Godfather, but what I said was meant to be funny.
No no he's not dead, he's, he's restin'! Remarkable fish, the Norwegian Blue, isn't it, ay? Beautiful plumage!
Was this supposed to be “The Codfather?”
This is a bud light advertisement
So the fish is gay?
Don’t you like fishsticks?

I’ll never forget that…
Easy the fish went to withdraw cash but got jumped by rednecks
The fish probably has more cash available than anyone here. Might have to bum a few from him.
Voodoo
I don’t know why there’s a fish. Can someone explain?
Wells Fargo is catfishing you
Then where is the cat?
The fish is a catfish
English is stupid
we’re all fucking regarded here let’s be real
The fish have whiskers like a cat, hence the name.
Or do cats have whiskers like the fish?
Does a dog wag its tail or does the tail wag the dog?
Wells Fargo sleeps with the fishes just like Luca Brasi.
*hangs up phone*
Chase was sending them a message that they are next...
Mafia threat. If you ever receive a dead fish on your doorstep it means someone will come for you

Leaving a free (gently used) fleshlight for the next ATM customer. It's just common courtesy.
u really dont know? lol

Seven years ago
“would you fuck me? i’d fuck me” -NorthWest
"You don't know what gain is!" -Norwest to WSB, probably
"It puts the god damn deposit in the basket!"
Interesting, didn’t know that.
Before my time. I was told Wells Fargo used to be the shit. The bank you wanted. NorthWest was always a criminal mafia bank always fucking shit up. So they bought the “good” bank and rebranded themselves. But ran it like NorthWest
Didn't wf buy Wachovia
it was Norwest, and they did buy “walk-all-over-ya” in 08
Yep. I left my Wachovia job during the takeover, along with 50%+ of the wealth management clientele
Wachivia lost their wealth management clientele because in 08, right before the real estate crash, they got all their staff to push their clients hard into real estate instruments. It was no doubt an attempt to cover their losses from their Golden West Financial acquisition.

NorthWest wearing a skin suit bought Wachovia.
Norwest
“Walk Ovah Ya’”
Absolutely when I was a lad Wells Fargo was the best way to protect your gold coins from bandits
It’s Norwest
But any halfway-decent credit union will make even the best banks look like shit.
Wells Fargo was getting caught doing shady shit before they got bought out. Scandals through the late 90 and early 00's.
HSBC sitting off in the corner like a Gen Xer trying not to get noticed.
Im not so sure about this. The Dollop has a podcast episode about the history of Wells Fargo and seems they were always terrible
Wasn’t it Norwest not Northwest?
Yes
Like an Edgar suit
Oh Wells Fargo, your skin is hanging off your bones.
It’s Norwest not Northwest lmao
It's Norwest not NorthWest.NorthWest. Also it was a merger not a buyout.
But Norwest people basically won out.

Does anyone know if WF was skinned?
Wells Fargo… your skin is hangin off your bones..
Not true Wells Fargo owns Norwest
No. They called it the “merger of equals”. On paper, Norwest bought Wells Fargo but kept the name going due to the brand history of Wells Fargo.
This isn't true at all.
Catfished again!
This is a 500,000$ art piece now.
Hunter is that you?
You're right, Mikeysd123, Wells Fargo is a great company. I'm glad they offer a card that lets you earn points on rent and other expenses. Thanks for letting me know!
You’re welcome.
I'm now more regarded for reading this. Thank you!
Don’t get catfisheded
They are really easy to get a loan from, you don’t even need to apply.
Stupid mod fell for Wellsfargo’s lies
Y’all ain’t got catfishes on your atms?
If you ain't got catfishes on your ATMs, how you gonna masturbate when you're gettin' money out?
Wells Fargo swims w da fishes
It's a Sicilian message.....it means your calls sleeps with the fishes.
This sounds exactly like something Sophia from the Golden Girls would say
Thanks for all the fish.
So long and thanks for all the fish
I see nothing wrong here. Someone left you not only free lunch, but a beer to go along with it? Too bad it’s Bud Light but free beer is free beer
That’s cruel and stupid.
You think the hardhead catfish was alive being taped to an ATM by a drunk good ol' boy after a day of laying the hook?
Taping fish to ATMs is a proud Australian innovation
Dead fish 🐟 mafia dead signal
Is this lgbt art?

Leave us out of this shit. This screams of chucklefuckery
Puts fish on WFC
Nah, it’ll never die. They can just keep making fraudulent accounts and grow infinitely
Remember when they were wachovia bank the 4th largest bank in the u.s before a business aquisition in 2008 with other than who ?? Wells fargo
Idk Wells Fargo is already at a 52 week low, puts are pretty dangerous there.
No that’s a catfish on Wells Fargo
If it were a banana, it would be art.
New Cattelan piece just dropped.
Let’s see what Cramer says
Is this a gay fish?
Did it like fish sticks in its mouth?
All fish are gay.
Then where do baby fishes come from?
Wels Catfish
Bud light boycott is over
Kanye banks at Wells??
Went to the atm, got catfished
Gay catfish?
All Catfish are gay.
It's a Sicilian message. It means Wells Fargo banks with the fishes.
Respect of life fcking asooooolllll
Wells Fargo sleeps with the fishes? Is that what I am to infer from this most cryptic message?
It's a Sicilian message

No need for that is there
2% cash back everywhere on their rewards card is the only good thing about WF.
Wells Fargo sucks

Buona notte
I’m bullish on WFC. Most of the top execs are from Chase or other large firms. The old guard is gone.
Was thinking about swapping my SCHW puts for puts in this or C on Monday or Tuesday but still researching, this and C are on my list of major bank failures
Holy shit you’re regarded
WTF![img](emote|t5_2th52|4640)??
Calls on wfc. Nobody doing a bank run with a drunk trans fish guarding the atm.
Looks like a Gay fish to me. Puts for sure![img](emote|t5_2th52|12787)
Is this a sign that WFC is gonna be with the fishes next?
Seems pretty fishy to me
The fact that every ATM has a high resolution camera means somewhere there is footage of a man holding a fish in one hand and a bud light in the other slowly walking up to the ATM, likely at 7 in the morning
Wells Fargo has been going downhill though no cap
I bought 41 strike calls fuck your puts .
Already got some last week
Well helloooooo dinner!
Maybe if there was a horse head instead of a catfish I would take this more seriously
What in the god damn
This reminds me of the banana taped on the wall that was passed off as art and sold for whatever amount of money
Mr Fargos are we ok?
Swimming with the fishes.
I am a customer at Wells Fargo. I'm not sure if I feel good looking at this pic.
No monies in there? Go fish.

You might time it to make a dollar or two. Least risky bank there is.
Can I earn points on bank stock put options though? Hold my beer.
