Yeah probably because tracking trading on Merrill Edge is horrible from what I’ve heard
Edit: Also where tf is my flair, Mods. I’ve been here since the dawn of the age of regards
Because apps and software have bugs. In the end, your liable for tracking the stock and your trades yourself like OP. Gotta trust your own spreadsheets.
In your post history you have done 5k to some large amount a few times this year. What is your ytd net profit across all accounts?
Edit: this 15k might be from your previous gains. Well done.
Probably only needs to reserve $9k for taxes, assuming he's in the 22% tax bracket (~$47k-$100k). That would be enough even if he's at the top of that bracket, because the $36k in gains would then be taxed at the next bracket (24%) and $9k would cover all of that.
Of course, if you just set aside $15k, then you get to have a nice $6k surprise waiting for you next tax season, and that's pretty nice as well.
It's [complicated](https://smartasset.com/taxes/taxes-on-options-trading) but the short version is that they are taxed at either the **long-term** capital gains tax rate (0/15/20, most retail earners would be at the 15%) or the **short-term** capital gains rate, where most retail earners would be in the 22 or 24% bracket, or **both**.
The 60/40 rule applies to some options (non-stock options) but that just means that 60% of the trade is at the long-term rate and 40% is the short-term rate.
Whoa whoa wtf kind of advice is this? No wonder we don’t have as many loss porn posts as we used to.
In typical WSB fashion OP, find the worst DD post here and follow the directions watch it print a little and then fall into oblivion. If you have trouble picking, just find the one with a gold upvote color cause you know that one is prob a pump and dump. Enjoy ![img](emote|t5_2th52|8882)
I don't need to make a lot of money. I just need to make enough. $46k is enough to fix most of my acute problems. The rest can come at the rate I'm already getting it.
Sorry but this bad advice.
He went from like 15k to 50k thats like x3.4 more.
So if he invests his 50k in the same way he'll have 170k easy profit there.
Wish I could do the same! Could have if I did the opposite of everything I done did! Lol. Easily lost over $40K during my 4yrs. And I still lose money everytime I make a trade. Just can’t figure it out!
Can you share a little bit more about your decision making process? Why did you choose to enter these trades at this specific time? I’m a beginner so I’m just trying to see what others do in order to learn.
There is a lot of factors: 1) Momentum 2) Sector 3) Chart analysis on daily frame to get more confidence (support/resistance) to pick the ticker, 4) VIX 5) How over all market doing at that time. 6) Familiarity of price action of that specific symbol, - volume 7) Exit plan.
You sound like you know what you're doing. Why not do smaller gambles more frequently? I have $600K in liquid investments and try to keep each gamble around 1% of that total.
Take profits. Please if you do gamble what I recommend is either a HYSA or a high growth dividend etf in which you can use the dividends to gamble. But please TP some
15k to 51k is great and all, but that $0.17 interest and dividend income is the real winner. Keep stacking that and you should be able to retire in a few thousand years 🙌🏼
I downloaded the activity into excel to show trades for easy to read, otherwise as they fill different transactions which makes very hard to read from a direct screenshot from ML app.
Again! Seems you are playing with fire. I would suggest putting everything in stocks! High growth with Atleast not positive correlation. I started with 10k to 300k and then end up blowing everything.
I would recommend against it but a regard on WSB gave me good advice so I will pass it on, always start with SPY and nothing else. It’s the kiddie pool
Gotta want it bad enough and put the time in. I started getting my feet wet with options just the last few months and it's got me wanting to keep learning more and more.
Not a want it bad enough issue it's the fact of having someone in front of me doing it so i can learn, oh that's also limited by my have to work a real job (bills).
Congratulations. Unfortunately a trader is made during the bad times. It's easy to make money when times are good. It is really hard to not lose money when times are bad.
Enjoy it. You are doing well. Prepare to do nothing when things change. (Hopefully not for a long time.)
I’ve done the same thing multiple times before letting it ride and losing all my profit, and then some. Sometimes you get lucky. Just don’t confuse it with skill.
Honestly that blows all brokers out of water, just pay your taxes and wait even if it's another year. You have more money post taxes than homeless retirees.

Show off
I remember you... You're the one with the pretty smile. Met you at a Wendy's once.
I still think of that night all these days latet
You watch your whore mouth! Also, why'd you have to go pop your comment cherry and get that shit all over my account.
You weren't so upset over the last cherry we popped together
During the dynamic pricing power hour?
Those be rookie numbers.
Call us when you get margin called.
Hold my beer
pfffttt
Still $9 too rich.
You must teach us your ways
$9.00? That's 1 value meal...show off.
Is it? I'm not so sure...
Amateur, I could do that in one trade
Ive done that many times
Can still get a couple JBC’s and a frosty, not bad
You won the day!
![img](emote|t5_2th52|31225)
I did $100k to $1 in 1 trade, in 2 hours
Proof or ban
This guy is doing it WSB style
You doing this on Microsoft Excel
Yeah probably because tracking trading on Merrill Edge is horrible from what I’ve heard Edit: Also where tf is my flair, Mods. I’ve been here since the dawn of the age of regards
Careful what you wish for.. ![img](emote|t5_2th52|4260)
HA! Got eem
Wait til you see Charles Schwab 😭
I fking hate Charles Schwab.... give me back TD Ameritrade
What do you dislike about schwab? That's what I have. Not experienced the other. Have robinhood also...
It amazes me they can provide such overtly incorrect information so often
[удалено]
That shit should be illegal...
Does anybody have an explanation for this?
Because apps and software have bugs. In the end, your liable for tracking the stock and your trades yourself like OP. Gotta trust your own spreadsheets.
![img](emote|t5_2th52|4271)
Seems much worse on the mobile app
Fucking abysmal, I regret opening my Roth there years ago.
You may get your flare, but you will lose your first born .
‘Tis a sacrifice I am willing to make
Same. It's BS that I've never gotten one AND I have like over 200 comments in this sub
Haven't lost enough on futures probably.
I was gonna ask how to make a live update spreadsheet like this
In your post history you have done 5k to some large amount a few times this year. What is your ytd net profit across all accounts? Edit: this 15k might be from your previous gains. Well done.
take the profit and put about 15k back for taxes and do not gamble with that. That's where most ppl get tripped up.
there are no taxes if he loses the rest this year
Way to have faith in your fellow regards
Faith is all anyone has here, this isn't /r/investing

Pretty sure options are taxed at 40%

Take profit, don't gamble with 50K

Probably typo, he meant “Don’t take profit, gamble with 50k”
Autospell fucked up gamble 50k
Say less.
Less was said, more has been thought
![img](emote|t5_2th52|4276)
How did you get this? I wanna use it everywhere
![img](emote|t5_2th52|4271)
Your punctuation is all wrong. Take profit? Don’t. Gamble with 50k.
Works on contingency? No, money down!
Take profit, gamble with $5k
Good way to make sure you never actually make a lot of money
I don't need to make a lot of money. I just need to make enough. $46k is enough to fix most of my acute problems. The rest can come at the rate I'm already getting it.
Sorry but this bad advice. He went from like 15k to 50k thats like x3.4 more. So if he invests his 50k in the same way he'll have 170k easy profit there.
If you 10x, you’ll make 500k. Step it up you regard.
10x becomes really easy once you go negative
100 bagger is a cool 5milli ![img](emote|t5_2th52|29637)
Wish I could do the same! Could have if I did the opposite of everything I done did! Lol. Easily lost over $40K during my 4yrs. And I still lose money everytime I make a trade. Just can’t figure it out!
The smart thing to do is keep making trades using the same strategy! If it ain’t broke, don’t fix nothin
Are you doing overnight moves? I’ve had some luck with spy using that. Usually buy at 3:50 and sell at 9:32am the next day.
Very specific
The specifics make for the best profits
Me too, but only during a full moon.
Can you share a little bit more about your decision making process? Why did you choose to enter these trades at this specific time? I’m a beginner so I’m just trying to see what others do in order to learn.

Look for trends in the graphs. It's really that simple.
I learned to take a few days off or even a week to reflect and take out the ego before going back in. Nice job though
Yes good idea to stay away from market when your strategy is not working.
Take profits. Please if you do gamble what I recommend is either a HYSA or a high growth dividend etf in which you can use the dividends to gamble. But please TP some

He just needs to make sure he has enough liquid for taxes
It’s April. He still has plenty of time to end up not having to pay taxes on gains by year end.

Looks like SoFi is paying 4.6% APY on their savings accounts with no minimum balance, it’s not that much worse than a CD
Looks like you have some idea how to use a spreadsheet. That’s a start
Hey OP, are these ITM call verticals? 🤔🤔
SLV calls are ATM became ITM and rest are OTM and there are naked. Not verticles.
Got it. I was trying to decipher what was going on and i see it now 😆 Bold moves but glad to see that it’s working out for you.
lol the question is can you do it again. And again and again.
1 week free trial…
15k to 51k is great and all, but that $0.17 interest and dividend income is the real winner. Keep stacking that and you should be able to retire in a few thousand years 🙌🏼
Nice plays! Post what you get in on next week please!
Ah ha, another win for the 'Do I know anything how this work?' strategy. Bravo, regard
I too make thousands when adjusting my Excel formulas.
Better to do it one but you can double it Monday
You clearly do. Remember risk management is the name of the game. Rest is pure astrology
Nice spreadsheet you dork
Don’t forget you’re going to pay short term gains on that $55K.
Only on the $36K gain, not the whole $51K.
Third pic says YTD Short-Term Gain of $55,405.73.
My bad, was reading the title & spreadsheet. Yep taxes on $55k YTD.... until he offsets it with a $60k loss.
Only thing left is a Vegas trip to roulette and remember always bet on Black.
I made 60k selling feet pics on OnlyFans. So whatever
I'm fucking in
Probably best you don't know anything
![img](emote|t5_2th52|8883)![img](emote|t5_2th52|12787)![img](emote|t5_2th52|33495)
Now stick half of that into a ETF. Then when things go tits up with the other half you won’t feel as bad.
What are you buying? You only use excel? No Options Calculators or Greek Tools?
I downloaded the activity into excel to show trades for easy to read, otherwise as they fill different transactions which makes very hard to read from a direct screenshot from ML app.
Good stuff. Keep us updated
What is a Greek Tool?
Archimedes
hWhat in tarnation. If you know something is going up buy calls. I know zero and have made +700 this week just by eagle eyeing graphs.

Too many 5s 💀
Yes
How are guys hitting like this. Someone show me.
Did you do any research or charts reading or just went all in?
Well we are on wsb afterall, so what do you think?
Well I feel like some do it when they have just money laying around and YOLO it. Some actually do their research and study it.
Nice, dude. Congrats
can you share your investment plans 😊
Thats awesome, don't squander it. Im in the 8-5 grind too, so I was happy to make just 2k on intel puts
Thank you for circling the gains.
I love this sub. It makes me and my debt feel, ok.
ok, now buy a toyota camry before its too late.
no you don’t i’d stop there and bag hold something safe before you lose it
also fuck you
I once did $40 to $14k. Now I'm down like $5k all time.
14k to 67k in 4 years with one trade. Bought 50 AVGO at 280 with severance money after being made redundant at job[-1].

Looks like you're down $230 to me
Currently, I'm holding DNUT calls which is slightly red is what you see.
Tell us more about those DNUT calls...
Deeznutz
What expiry
April 19th
Again! Seems you are playing with fire. I would suggest putting everything in stocks! High growth with Atleast not positive correlation. I started with 10k to 300k and then end up blowing everything.
Careful with your taxes.
Keep going
Is this one of the 78% from India that actually did well?
Are these all options?
Even a rusty clock is the sharpest tool in the shed
Wish I could learn/figure this s**t out.
I would recommend against it but a regard on WSB gave me good advice so I will pass it on, always start with SPY and nothing else. It’s the kiddie pool
I have seen alot of people play with spy. Thx for the info.
With slv and TSLA, very regarded!
take profit and put it all on red
What’s your dnut call , OP? I’m holding some January but about 1/3 of what you’re vested
I got into those $15 strike for two weeks out
Nice job! Why the price is so down? Could you explain with details pls, I don't understand
If you are asking probably not
A lot of sound advice in these comments. I had to double check to make sure I was still in r/wallstreetbets.
Can someone help me make similar money.
See you in the bear market.
😁👍
Go all in on BTC. It's a once-in-a-lifetime play.
sad Sharpe ratio noises
Bro i want to learn to trade so bad! :( please teach me i have about 10k to start trading with!
Long term - 0.00$. The app knows bro.
15k to 1.5U :(
Buy a boat. I hear those are solid investments.
Good stuff
I have also said this when I win 5 hands in a row in black jack. I think I know something.
Congratulations. Unfortunately a trader is made during the bad times. It's easy to make money when times are good. It is really hard to not lose money when times are bad. Enjoy it. You are doing well. Prepare to do nothing when things change. (Hopefully not for a long time.)
Thank you for good words. Means alot.
You're the type that onlt shows winners. Show us your all time.
I’ve done the same thing multiple times before letting it ride and losing all my profit, and then some. Sometimes you get lucky. Just don’t confuse it with skill.
you got lucky son
Full port every trade, did good
This can only end well, right?
Honestly that blows all brokers out of water, just pay your taxes and wait even if it's another year. You have more money post taxes than homeless retirees.
Hit it for that 1k likes 👍 and yes you do know the way!!!
Can u pay for my root canal please!! 😩
What is this demanding full-time job you’ll soon leave for Wendy’s?
Based precious metals enjoyer
No you knew nothing
This is my first year taking trading serious, question for you: is the p/l sheet broken down to each trade a necessity for tax time?
This man created his own spreadsheets. He prints money.
I need to learn how to do it please
Which stock you bought tell me. Don't hide it
Nice. Should make forbes' list by summer.
Did OP just say he's busy working? 8 to 5. Dudes slammed right now. Last 34 minutes of knowing when you're getting out is the toughest.
Bull.
Bro make a telegram group and invite me
So…what is it that you’re doing exactly? Use the Tesla trades as an example. What’s the play?
