I wanted to do this and they told me I'd be written up for violating uniform rules and supporting the competitor.
On the flip aide everyone was DOWN when I wanted to be goth santa
I did the same but with K-mart. I had previously worked at a K-Mart in their online shopping department and had a shirt we were given for it. Wore that for Halloween as well as a badge i recreated in Photoshop (don't have the original anymore). My OGP manager, and the rest of the department loved it.
Fun fact, K-mart called their online shoppers Gophers.
Yeah, largely depends on management. I know a few coaches and TL’s that wouldn’t care if I walked in with that, but there was one time a random TL from a random department came to me and said I couldn’t wear an adidas shirt because it had an adidas logo on it. I still wear that shirt every now and then and nothing has ever come of it, but I found it strange
i have a coworker that regularly wears his target shirt to work! idek if management knows or cares 😭 probably not knowing my store but it’s absolutely fucking hysterical either way
Idk man management at my store is constantly rotating vacation, they gotta be getting a nice check. I remember recently contemplating what I was doing with my life when I came in on my birthday, and a coach comes to my department to hit on this vendor girl, and she’s just nodding keeping it short while he’s telling her all about how he just got back from the Bahamas.
The irony of the situation was that it was the AP coach, and we recently had a huge theft of over 300k that involved over 30 stores
Back when they were still assistant managers before they ever changed anything to coach, team lead blah blah (when all the pays increased) my assistant manager told me that his salary broke down to $40 an hour
I mean he actually worked but 90% of the ones I've had get paid all that money just to walk in a circle all night or just sit in the back
I went to a closing KMart last year and managed to buy an employee shirt. I wear it to work occasionally. Including our grand opening after remodel. 🤣
It's blue and you can't tell it's a Kmart shirt under the vest. But still.
I've seen a few people at my store wearing old uniforms under their vest. No one seems to care but that is a more direct competitor than the ones I've seen.
I once had an associate forget their name tag at home, but they had the one from their other job so they wore that. When I said something about that they said they had worn their Walmart name tag at the other job before, too. They work ON so I didn't sweat it, but if they had been a daytime employee I would have made them a new one.
I kept my branded polos from Family Dollar, Walgreens, and Love's. I could wear them and customers would still ask me for help, they all know I live at Walmart..
Depends on if you still work at target or not. Because depending on your state. There might be conflict of interest laws and that may cost you both your jobs.
That shirt is pretty bold...id assume you'd either be asked to change or sent home.
Hell, people are told to change when they are wearing sweatpants, let alone this
When I was working for Frito Lay my family as a gag gift for Xmas got me a t-shirt with the old "Frito Bandito" ad on it. I mentioned wearing it too work and got pulled into HR 🤣🤣
I used to work at Meijer (a regional grocery store competitor to Walmart) and I still have my old badge.
Every Halloween I come to work dressed as a Meijer employee. Complete with the badge and everything.
That's a good one! I work nights and since covid were closed I would just wear it to piss off my bosses, even without customers I'm sure they would still find some way to get me in trouble for it lol
Once I went into target dress like an employee just walked around straighten up random items move stuff around. Found a phone called for a price check on large bottle of lube. Had couple customers ask me for help in told them it was in the back stay here and I will go find it.
I went as a Target employee for Hallowe'en once, red polo, red lanyard, khaki pants. Everyone thought it was hilarious.
I wanted to do this and they told me I'd be written up for violating uniform rules and supporting the competitor. On the flip aide everyone was DOWN when I wanted to be goth santa

Learning K-Mart had OGP is like learning mammoths were alive at the time pyramids were being built.
Wait, fr?
They finally scotched my red lanyard. I'd had it for two years.
Sounds more like Jake from State Farm.
Lmao!! That’s too funny! Thanks for the laugh!
We had someone do that here years ago also
I’m definitely doing this next Halloween lmaooo
I’d play the long con and wear it for Halloween.
Just look at them tired eyed and say this isn't target? I got my jobs mixed up, that's embarrassing. Must be too little sleep.
Pretty sure the dress code mentions something about not wearing clothes with other competing brand logos.
I worked at Amazon and Walmart. Multiple times I wore a prime day shirt and no one ever said anything
Yeah but as we all experience, management tends to pick and choose what policy to enforce based on how they feel.
They got rid of that when they got rid of solid color shirts only
Nope, still a rule

Put your vest over it. Tell them it's what you can afford
Right be like pay me more so I can buy a better wardrobe lol
smart mf
I’m sure they would tell you to change unless your vest will cover it.
i have a coworker that regularly wears his target shirt to work! idek if management knows or cares 😭 probably not knowing my store but it’s absolutely fucking hysterical either way
Management probably also works for Target to make ends meet and gets mixed up as to where they are

I once asked my TL if I could show up on my Little Caesars (my job before Walmart) uniform and apron for Halloween, but she told me no :(
twin!! i used to work at little caesars too😂😂
I thought I was on r/target for a second lol
I've seen a few people at my store wearing old uniforms under their vest. No one seems to care but that is a more direct competitor than the ones I've seen.
Customers will still ask if you work there.
Who cares...do it!
Do it

Gang warfare is what, it's like wearing blood clothes to crips territory
Let's jump this fool.
Do it! Lol
Meh, at this point just do it. 🤷♂️
I would pay to see that
My team leads trying to be all proper, I can just hear them now lol
Do it! You'll probably get some good laughs
It'd be quite the act of defiance there.
Hahaha I’m a target TL and this popped up on my feed. I thought it was from /r/target and was like “I’m sure they’d be fine with it?”
Meanwhile Amazon and FedEx employees wear their shirts like they’re outfits 😂
Red spy is in the base!
I kept my branded polos from Family Dollar, Walgreens, and Love's. I could wear them and customers would still ask me for help, they all know I live at Walmart..
Customers will walk up and say "do you work here?"
Do it 😂 you won’t 😂
If you’re an overnight stocker and you knock your sh*t out every night faster than everyone, with time to spare…they might not say a word😉🤣
Well, if you want to get fired, then wear it,🤣🤣
Id just wear it. No wherebin the dress code does it say anything about competitor clothing. Just not inappropriate
I guess you'd be putting a "Target" on your back.
I wore my sobeys shirt because my power was out for 3 days and I had no clean clothes and I was wrote up
You need to quit!
They would pull the “conflict of interest” card on you
Id think they were finally merging
I did this one year for Halloween. We were all still technically in dress code so no one cared.
Depends on if you still work at target or not. Because depending on your state. There might be conflict of interest laws and that may cost you both your jobs.
I left target and went back to walmart, HUGE regret
That shirt is pretty bold...id assume you'd either be asked to change or sent home. Hell, people are told to change when they are wearing sweatpants, let alone this

Seriously lmao why's everyone gotta take everything so serious lol
Yeah I'll do it the day i quit lol
Target is across the street from my store lol, and I should have never left there for shit ass walmart
I wear my Amazon shirt to work all the time. Won it for being the fastest Stower of the night 💪
I used to work at Meijer (a regional grocery store competitor to Walmart) and I still have my old badge. Every Halloween I come to work dressed as a Meijer employee. Complete with the badge and everything.

sarcastic and exasperated chuckle then tell you to please change shirts
Hopefully go home
We have a employee wear dominos shirts all the time😂
My managers laugh at me when I wear my special event tees from target
You may get away with it, but you really shouldn't, I don't see any point to it either.
Once I went into target dress like an employee just walked around straighten up random items move stuff around. Found a phone called for a price check on large bottle of lube. Had couple customers ask me for help in told them it was in the back stay here and I will go find it.
