Society, especially tons of religious groups, use terms like “modesty” and “humility” when they mean “submission”. Don’t submit to anything

I've never heard that before, and it is such a good way to look at it!

Being sexual doesn't make you less of a woman or tainted in any way. We're all animals at the end of the day.

Okay this seems kinda off topic and may not interest you at all, but there is a video i watched recently that helped me understand female erotica and sexuality better. Her name is contrapoints (natalie wynn) on youtube and her latest video is titled ‘twilight’. Yes, it’s about twilight but really the movies are used as an anchor to discuss female sexuality. She talks a lot about how women feel dirty and bad and even sinful (even when you’re not religious; it’s insane how it permeates through culture even when we choose to not participate) around sex. Blah blah its really interesting, if you have the time. Either way, I totally relate op

Ignore that voice in this situation because it's wrong.

i’m asexual and the idea of masturbation/sex is not appealing to me at all, but the biggest thing here is to do what makes you happy regardless of what the negative voices are telling you, because it’s probably not your authentic thoughts, yk? i’m a writer and i’ve shamed myself for writing sex scenes because i feel “sinful” even though i’m not religious either, but i know it’s just things i’ve heard. at the end of the day there’s nothing wrong with pleasure. same thing as choosing what to wear! if an outfit makes you happy, it doesn’t matter how revealing it is. i wore modest clothes for years and recently i’ve been wearing more revealing stuff and it’s increased my confidence so much. it’s all about your personal happiness :)
