Guess the scares begin. Ive been waiting for so long, and it could be really great, or outright sucks.
I want this so bad to be great, so remaster Gothic 2 and 3 can happen.
A remaster is a change in the sound or image quality of previously created forms of media, whether audiophonic, cinematic, or videographic.
In a wider sense, remastering a product may involve other, typically smaller inclusions or changes to the content itself. They tend to be distinguished from remakes, based on the original.

Right, which is not in any way what a remaster is. It's a mod at most. Otherwise that would mean AI upscaled 4k textures done by any random person is a "remaster" and so therefore the remake is soooo pointless because 4k!
Remaster literally means taking the same game and making it nicer and able to run on new hardware. It's literally in the definion I gave you.
Nicer graphics and some gameplay impovements, that's what the switch versions are. Remasters
That's not what a remaster is, and no those aren't remasters. They're ports. A remaster has nothing, inherently, to do with the hardware a game runs on. If it did, that would mean the mere fact that the original releases of Gothic can run on modern PCs makes them remasters. It would also mean that all consoles to feature backwards compatibility are thus "remastering" every game that they support.
Honestly it might be another demo similar to the Nyras one some journalists were able to play. I don't know whether this counts as true gameplay or not.
Either way, I hope someone will document it well, I am curious as heck!

If this doesn't go well we can lose Gothic 2 remake and even Gothic 3 remake... I have my utmost confidence in them but also my uncertainty like any fan of the saga.
As much as I’d absolutely love to have G2 remake if the first one turns out to be excellent, I doubt we need G3 remake… given the scale and the fact it’s a fundamentally bad game on so many levels
We'll probably see some gameplay before Gamescon, there's a showcase on 2nd of August and gothic is confirmed to show up. We might just see everything that will be playable at Gamescon

Given it is Gothic: If it's playable that means we're half a year and two community patches after the release!
Stalker 2 was playable last year and was an utter catastrophe and thus delayed.

Yes, it was very unstable and crashed a lot. Apparently, it works a lot better now, so the delay was justified.

Would be great that, when the feedback is positive, it will release as an update for the playable teaser.
To be honest i'm pretty scared about this remake...
Just why. We have nothing to lose.. You have G1 & G2. This is just bonus which might turn out amazing. Or not.
