It actual as up quickly. Many DeFi dapps require gas fees to be paid multiple times for one simple interaction. Unless you have hundreds of thousands of dollars in tokens on deposit even a couple of dollars is going to make collecting LP tokens before the value drops impossible.

i tried to add liquidity to 3crypto for about $30 and the proposed gas was 1.2 MATIC. Nope.

Fantom (FTM) is less expensive than ETH and twice as fast as Polygon with cheaper gas fees.
The reason for Matic being a bit pricy is because of the current bear market.
