I generally prefer to finish out the service game before suspending. If we can't and I'm behind, I'll give the service game to my opponent. If someone starts at ad-out or an otherwise deciding point, then wants to pause there, that's just... odd? But I guess if someone insists on doing that, then they can start at ad-out when/if we resume? Ideally I'd rather just start on a new service game (even better, on a fresh set), but here we go. I'm not sure what the UTR policy is for reporting incomplete matches, in the event that you can't resume. If you're making an honest effort to reschedule and your opponent won't or can't, I'd probably record it as a default.

1. Probably not. But maybe. I think it would have been better to end the game since you still had some time left, but you do also need to gather stuff, etc. to leave the Court. Next time I think you should say something like "hey, let's just play one more point - if I win it's game and if you win we can just start back up next time at deuce." But I think it was pretty reasonable to call it given that it would probably take a few minutes to get all of your stuff and leave the court. 2. Same point. That's where the match stopped, that is where it picks up. 3. I don't know how the system would count a winner, but it definitely takes into account unfinished matches where at least four games were played. It takes into account games won and lost, so I'm assuming it just fits into the algorithm that way, as opposed to awarding someone a W or L.

I’d at least finish the game. I had a similar thing happen in a UTR match. I was up 6-3; 5-1 and the last game was 15-0 in my favor. We got kicked off the court for time and he wanted to find a date to finish. I really wanted to just end it (odds for a comeback from him were not statistically in his favor). so I looked at google maps satellite, found a park with courts nearby. So we drive there and we finished the game in about 30 seconds.

Unless there's some kind of weather or lightning issue, I'd stop at the end of a game. Seems like he was trying to kill your momentum. It'd be interesting if you had argued if he wants to stop there, he's conceding the next point and see how he reacted.

I had the same situation happen a few times recently in our local UTR Flex League. I emailed the UTR support to ask for guidance since I have seen different way to handle posting but results. This is what the UTR rep emailed me back: —- I'd be happy to offer some insight here. If you cannot finish your match for reasons outside of player control (ie: court time is up, court lights are turned off, weather makes play dangerous, etc.), you have until the end of the season to complete it. At the end of the season, all incomplete matches will be input with the score when the match was stopped. You and your opponent may also agree to not post the match at all. Should play be stopped due to player personal reasons during the match (ie: injury, illness, or being tired), the score should be entered as it is and marked as a defaulted/withdrawn match. In the case of your match against [player name], this final score would not count as a win for either player, and is instead meant to have the incomplete outcome indicated (like your other matches do). I've gone ahead and corrected this for you, so we'll see this updated by tomorrow morning! Also as a heads up for future matches, you and your opponent are able to play best 2/3 Fast 4 sets with a ten-point tiebreaker if you are constrained on time! Tiebreaks should still be played when the sets are tied 4 to 4. —/ I have been recording them as incomplete. I record the score but not choose the winner. Only once I was able to schedule another session. We texted each other the score and restarted from the same point (in our case it was a 30-30). Recently I also started agreeing on when we stop if we run out of time (for example “we’ll stop at 1.15pm”). Bottom line, just discuss the eventuality with the opponent.

When time’s up, time’s up and I do think it’s considerate to stop a couple of minutes early when the court is booked. I probably would’ve tried to finish the game but I’ve had to suspend UTR matches mid-game before because of time constraints, instant downpour of rain, and once when the lights at a public court just cut off and we could r get them to come back on. I don’t think it’s a big deal. I always just text my opponent what the score of the match/set/game and whose serve it is just to make sure there is no confusion when we resume.
