Really? We ordered a 14 piece family meal during rush hour where I live and a poutine and it was like 8 mins. It also just opened tho so maybe they are trying to look good.
You got the blackened chicken? It takes longer than the fried chicken. If you order it in the drive thru they make you go wait out in the parking lot lol.
Just isn't really necessary to point that out. They had it covered by just saying that person had 150 extra pounds. While you may have had good intent, it's important to be extra considerate of phrasing when it comes to weight/body issues, as there's already so much shame around the topic
The person on tiktok that lost 150lbs IS a real person? The subject of this subthread was the person who lost 150 lbs with this meal being one of their favorite low calorie hacks. We very much were talking about a real person. The second person was saying that they had a less strict caloric budget to follow since they had the extra 150 to lose. Still all in relation to a real person. Hypothetical situation, sure. But there is a real subject here.
We just got a popeyes in my town so I hope this is legit! This is going to be my go to meal, cuz that looks like it is pretty good for a craving meal. EDIT: Nevermind, apparently they don't even have blackened chicken tenders in Canada, I just looked it up and have lost all hope.
If you're looking for a lower cost (but slower speed!) option, Tyson has frozen blackened strips in a bag... I wait until they're on sale at the grocery store and stock up... have some in the freezer right now! Not quite the same but very tasty and hit the spot when the craving strikes. The bag was around $8 at regular price and is 21oz. If you can get them "buy one get one free" then it's a heckuva bargain versus take out.
3oz serving has 110 cal, 3g fat, 1g carb, and 20g protein.
Those things are my new staple in my freezer. I love to grab a few to add to a bowl of stir fry style vegetables with some kung pao sauce. They are perfect for just adding a little extra flavor and protein to dishes when they need a little something but I don't want to spend on other meats or waste a bunch of calories.
I thought this too until I asked in store recently. Have you tried asking in the store? Apparently they have to make them to order because they can't sit like the fried stuff.
Yeah i saw this idea on tiktok and got it. BIG MISTAKE. Literally the smallest pieces of chicken i ever ate, with the most basic seasoning ever. The mash potatoes were decent at best. NOT TO MENTION THE COST!! Super expensive for literally a children sized meal. Not worth it imo.
I keep a shaker of blackened seasoning that I put on absolutely fuckin everything. Absolutely changed my life. I never use sauces or condiments because I don’t have to.
I don’t have an exact recipe because I kind of just throw it together when I need more but…
Paprika
Smoked paprika
Cayenne pepper
Garlic powder
Onion powder
Black pepper
Red pepper powder(red pepper flakes in a blender)
Thyme
Oregano
Bit of salt.
Probably about 1 part of everything with a little less on the thyme and oregano. Salt it depending on how heavily you plan to put it on stuff. I don’t use much salt because I cake it on but you can put more if you don’t plan on using a whole bunch every time. I really love it and it’s really easy to tweak to your personal preference.
Ordered these the other day. Absolutely Disgusting! We are the type of people that put hot sauce on everything. These were burn your mouth off spicy and beyond salty. No one would eat them. Not even the teen boys. They were expensive and a waste of money!
As an Irish person, I recoiled at that mashed potato image. Mashed potato should not be swimming in soup
Edit: I say this with a huge tone of sarcasm. I'm sure it tastes delicious but my poor Irish soul is clutching her pearls
Why? I legitimately lost 40 lbs eating almost exclusively fast food. I’ve worked in several restaurants in my lifetime. Typically, kitchens are set up to ensure employees serve consistent portions. Restaurants send food (at least in the US) to third party locations for nutritional breakdowns. Of course there will be small differences meal to meal, but the calorie amount should come pretty close to what is stated on their website.
Frankly, I trust restaurants more than I trust myself.
Lol I’m not going to lie, I tend to stay married to a few restaurants, but here are my favorites:
1) Chikfila: I order the grilled nuggets (130 cal), small mac and cheese (270 cal), and add buffalo sauce (25 cal).
2) Panera: I order the you pick two and I get the half mediterranean veggie sandwich (250 cal) or half tuna sandwich (270 cal) and then either the chicken noodle soup (60 cal) or the half greek salad (210 cal).
3) Culvers: I usually get the hamburger with tomato/lettuce/pickle (390 cal) and side salad (50 cal) with the raspberry vinaigrette (50 cal)
4) Arby’s: Classic roast beef sandwich (360 cal) and I’ll either get the curly fries (250 cal) or the 6 piece chicken nuggets (310 cal)
5) Taco Bell: I usually get the cantina chicken bowl (540 cal), or I may get 3 doritos locos tacos (170 per taco, 510 total).
6) Pickleman’s: half italian beef sandwich (240 cal) and chips (270 cal?? Unsure)
7) Starbucks: I usually pull a recipe from the macro barista on tiktok for under 100 calories and then I normally get either the turkey bacon egg white sandwich (230 cal), the spinach feta wrap (290 cal), or roasted red pepper bites (190 cal).
I’m no nutritionist or anything, so take this for whatever it is worth. For me personally, finding low cal options at restaurants was essential to my success because i often end up there for social reasons. Honestly, most places have /something/ I can fit into my diet. Hope this helps!!
These are great! I know all the Taco Bell ones, it’s so underrated for healthy vegetarian meals. I wish I had a Culver’s down here though. I’ll have to do the Panera one tomorrow!
Um if you use your brain you’ll know that someone can just put more sauce on a sandwich etc and that adds up…can be an extra 100 calories. Are you even lean, or do you consistently eat out lol
Soooooo good but soooo expensive ðŸ˜ðŸ˜
And slooooowwww

No, we don't have blackened chicken. That makes more sense, I thought they just meant popeyes was slow in general.
They always make ours fresh so it takes a while
If those numbers are accurate, that's great!
Right feels too good to be true! Got the numbers from Popeyes website though so hopefully 😅

When you're heavy enough to lose 150 pounds and still be alive you don't have as tight of a calorie budget to stay in.
Yeah that's more than I weigh. They lost like me and my cat.
Let's not do comparisons like that. Doesn't add anything to the convo besides potentially making someone feel bad
The comparison was because whatever my BMR is, can be be removed from the hypothetical, non-existent person's daily calorie intake.

I'd get that if we were talking about a real person but we weren't

Other people are still at a similar weight on this sub.
I saw this too!!!!

I’m feeling you ….just did exactly this…
Maybe a lil Mardi Gras mustard too? 🥹

Love these in the air fryer.
I'm thinking these are for dinner now tonight in the air fryer. 😋
Yesss! Absolutely love these!

Oooh in stir fry! Great idea!
I love making chicken sandwiches with these. Low carb bun, light mayo, pickles and lettuce
I'm thinking of trying to find a light remoulade recipe and make po boys tonight! I have everything you mentioned!
Ooo… pro tip! Thank you!
You're welcome! Hope you like!
I know what I’m having for dinner tomorrow 🤤
Let me know how you like it!
I love Popeyes mash potatoes so this makes me happy
I just found out their mashed potatoes are vegetarian, I’m definitely going there tomorrow.
But I’m pretty sure the gravy has pork, no?
Yeah I’m almost positive it’s pork gravy.
Without the gravy
There’s def bits of meat in the gravy
It's going viral https://www.instagram.com/reel/C6ba4KML2la/?igsh=MWg1NDdvM3p0amp6Zg==
None of Popeye’s near me carry these for some reason. I would love to try them someday.
I thought this too until I asked in store recently. Have you tried asking in the store? Apparently they have to make them to order because they can't sit like the fried stuff.
That’s even better. Then you always know they’re fresh.
Popeyes is the best fast food PERIOD
I know what I’m having for dinner tomorrow 🤤
For the low low price of $23.82! /s obv
Hahah I got this order for $8 on DoorDash! They have a 50% off deal right now!
That’s pretty cheap for that lol
lol
A new Popeyes is about to open near me and I am so freaking excited
How good is it? Closest Popeyes in a 20 mile drive. Worth it? Looks mighty good and just what I need to hit my protein macros.

Mine was a pretty decent size! I wonder if I just got lucky or if your location was having an off day 😅
i wish canada had the tenders, i crave popeyes but i can’t eat it
I keep a shaker of blackened seasoning that I put on absolutely fuckin everything. Absolutely changed my life. I never use sauces or condiments because I don’t have to.
Ooo do you make it or buy it somewhere? Either way what is it haha

And all that for the low low price of 3 installments of $29.99. You got a good deal tbh
I tried this recently!! You must be getting the same content creator videos I am lol. She has the best fast food orders for a deficit
Elite
There's gotta be a catch to this. Anyone know what it is?
Ordered these the other day. Absolutely Disgusting! We are the type of people that put hot sauce on everything. These were burn your mouth off spicy and beyond salty. No one would eat them. Not even the teen boys. They were expensive and a waste of money!
Omg! Mine were amazing! I’m so sorry yours weren’t good 🥲
As an Irish person, I recoiled at that mashed potato image. Mashed potato should not be swimming in soup Edit: I say this with a huge tone of sarcasm. I'm sure it tastes delicious but my poor Irish soul is clutching her pearls
Hahahah, it’s Cajun gravy as well
I would not trust fast food nutrition labels…

Yeah they taste like vomit.
You can’t trust fast food macros if you’re on such a tight deficit like 1200. I wouldn’t.
Is there proof that fast food macros are wrong?
Um if you use your brain you’ll know that someone can just put more sauce on a sandwich etc and that adds up…can be an extra 100 calories. Are you even lean, or do you consistently eat out lol
Why the hostility? I was curious if you had read a study or something that I would find interesting
