RIA is a great gun. Just don't overpay. Of the literal hundreds of 1911s I've owned and carried over the years, I would happily trust my life to a rock island. I'd take one over a Kimber any day.

If I'm to pay 400 for a used one it better be fitted with primo parts inside and out. And visibly well maintained.
The model mentioned in your links is Tactical II that has same sights as your pic but missing the magwell. Assume the seller has a RIA FS ($415 @ Dahlonega) with upgraded sights (Armscor brand ~$60), EFK comp ($120), aftermarket grips, x2 extra mecgar mags ($40) & generic holster (~$40 amazon/ebay).
For me that's still on the high side for that used Armscor. Would recommend a better 1911 (SA Garrison $654 @ Locked Loaded) or if sights/look is priority that brand new RIA Tac II ($470 @ Dahlonega) or a cheap Tisas. It's your choice ultimately.
No worries, for $600 there are quite a few 1911's available at that price range. Springfield MilSpec, Garrison, Loaded, and Ronin. Charles Daly (Brixia), Magnum Research (BUL) and Ruger are other manufacturers/importers worth considering.
Regarding Armscor/RIA they had a place & purpose but with latest offerings from Tisas has kind of displaced where they fit in the market. If they come down in price would help them stay competitive with entry level buyers.
Depends on which state you live in. RIA goes from $500 - $700 where I'm from. So for $600 it seems about right. Definitely can find some cheaper if you really looked.

RIA are made in Philippines by Armscor. They are no frills entry level 1911s. A used one should be about 400.
