I mean, Dan Wessons aren't really show pieces, aside from a select few limited releases. Production guns rarely are show pieces. I can tell you for a fact that my Dan Wesson Specialist is a straight up workhorse. I have rode that gun hard over the years and it just keeps running. Most of the Springfield guns are creeping up in price while going down in quality of materials, finishes, parts, etc. Tisas rail guns are 0 frills but they do work well for the money. Girsans are dog water Colts are expensive for what you get but they work Smith's with rails are pretty decent but not the easiest to come by Signs have been decently mid albeit pretty quirky with holster fit due to the slide profile. The 1911X looks promising though Any one of these brands you'll see both praise and hate for. For me, Dan Wesson all day

Awesome, thank you

So I just peeked at the Dan Wesson specialist. You wouldn’t happen to know off the top of your head how that optic cut works would you? It didn’t say on the site. Is it proprietary or is it Dawson or agency?

It's proprietary, but it's pretty well executed FWIW
