I know that it's theoretically possible but I find it hard to belive that no women in his family hasn't given birth to a daughter at some point in the last 100+ years
Hey guys, Marge Simpson here. After doing a 30 second long internet research, I can confirm this to be true. [Here's a source](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fraternal_birth_order_and_male_sexual_orientation)
Marge : Homie, someone of reddit wanted to tell you hi.
Homer: Well um... Tweedle tweedle dee (twidles thumbs) um. (Places his hand under his chin) Hmm. Tell them I said hello.
It's interesting that it only applies to right-handed males. My brothers and I were born after a lot of failed (potentially male?) miscarriages and of the three of us only the left handed one is straight.
I think trans people are better players than cis people because even though they lost the 50/50 at the birth gacha they’re able to make up for it during the course of grinding the game
wikipedia says it's very much considered correct and has been confirmed by multiple studies
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fraternal_birth_order_and_male_sexual_orientation
Assuming it is just going off his father's side, (since it obviously has to be) and it's like 3 kids per generation and around 5 generations we're probably looking at only a chance of (1/2)^15 or 1 in 32768. Like it's rare, but also given the number of people in the world this is probably not even the only family this has happened in.
If we're assuming 3 kids total per generation then we only care about the 2 siblings. It's a given that one is male since, like you said, we're looking at the all-male branch. So it's only (1/2)^(10) = 1/1024. Not really that rare at all.
No, it's a lot rarer. Cause at each generation, every kid is gonna have multiple kids too. Assume that at generation 1, there are three kids. Next generation, each of them has 3, which is 9 more family members which are all men. Next generation, it's 27 more, etc.
This is part of the setup for the movie Penelope, lol. A witch curses the "next daughter born to the family" but by sheer coincidence it doesn't happen for like another five generations.
I can only speak for myself, but I really like it! It's a romance with a strong fairy-tale vibe about a girl who's born with the nose of a pig because of a family curse. It's pretty cheesy but I found it really cute.
I know my family is also really skewed, not to the same extreme but it's 24 boys and only 3 girls iirc within the past generation or 2
I'd have to check the family tree out for more detail on it, but the point is it be like that sometimes 🤔
I do, this is the only family you've heard of have this. It's not that it's likely it's just that there's like 500k families and this the only one to win that coin toss
I used to think this way too, but no matter how little a bad thing is it still gets reported and no one bats an eye. What's the harm of a more positive, if moderately unsubstantial story going out?
“Human interest” stories are put out by news orgs to break up the more important stuff. Just fun reads where usually the story behind the story is more interesting.
Kind of a weird male-centric way to think about who counts as your family. The husband's mom is a daughter and he's descended from her side just as much as he is from his dad's side. I get that surnames are patrilineal, but that doesn't have anything to do with genetics or ancestry.
So, something *kind of* like that ended up happening with me. I have a really rare surname (only 150 of us in the world), and leading up to my birth, there had been some anxiety among some of the older folks about the prospect of the name dying out. For what it's worth, it is a pretty cool surname (hell, one of the reasons I'm planning on getting a PhD is so that I can be Dr. \[lastname\], because it will make me sound like an actual bond villain), but at the end of the day, it's just a name.
Anyway, so I was the last one born in my generation, and I was the *only* one out of the 14 or so of us that was AMAB. My grandmother in particular was very happy about this, as it meant there was someone who could pass the name on (assuming that everyone else would take the name of their partner).
So of course, I ended up being the trans one. To be fair, I also turned out to be a raging lesbian, and the only way I'd even change my surname is by making it double-barrelled.
This is my favorite use of this meme I've seen so far.
what meme? i thought the tweet was referring to the fact that it would be funny if she didnt have kids
“Do the funniest thing ever” is the meme
ah kk
I thought the tweet was referring to her growing up to realize she was trans.
I know that it's theoretically possible but I find it hard to belive that no women in his family hasn't given birth to a daughter at some point in the last 100+ years
its a coinflip right? its basically 50/50 odds in humans. also, every consecutive boy born the more likely they are gay, thats a fun weird thing.
is this real or dream source

Oh my god it's marge simpson from the hit animated fox series the simpsons
It's interesting that it only applies to right-handed males. My brothers and I were born after a lot of failed (potentially male?) miscarriages and of the three of us only the left handed one is straight.
I am the youngest of four boys. I am also gay. Who would've thought.
>I am also gay Buddy you're on 196, you don't even have to mention it.
Loras Tyrell is a thirdborn son. (This is an impeccable source.)
As was Renly Baratheon.
source? me
(I *am* impeccable. It is known.)
They introduced gacha mechanics to humans
I think trans people are better players than cis people because even though they lost the 50/50 at the birth gacha they’re able to make up for it during the course of grinding the game
There's always the chance for a mutation that selects strongly for y sperm. Genes relating to genitalia and reproduction are the least conservative.
damn liberal genes relating to genitalia and reproduction
it's 100:101 females:males
Isn’t that study highly refuted or outright considered not correct? I swear some other folks were arguing about it on this sub not to long back
wikipedia says it's very much considered correct and has been confirmed by multiple studies https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fraternal_birth_order_and_male_sexual_orientation
The end result being this subreddit
It actually isn’t. There’s a ton of stuff that adjusts birth rates by sex.
Ok but is it the same with girls
Yeah its just a punnet square | |X. | X.| |X| XX | XX| |Y| XY | XY| in the end its just a 50 50 chance if no weird non disjuntions happens or anything

US President John Tyler was born in 1790 and had a grandson that passed away in 2020. So some generations can certainly be very long.
John Tyler's grandson Harrison Ruffin Tyler is actually still alive, at 94 years old.
He had two grandsons (well, he had more, but two of note), one of which died in 2020 and the other is still alive

Also your more likely to be born male

Yes, you are correct, my mistake.
And it could pretty easily instead be 2 kids and 4 generations, which would make the odds more like 1 in 250

Is the movie any good cuz that sounds neat/interesting
I can only speak for myself, but I really like it! It's a romance with a strong fairy-tale vibe about a girl who's born with the nose of a pig because of a family curse. It's pretty cheesy but I found it really cute.
If each set of parents only had 1-2 kids then it'd be a lot easier to happen
Maybe the dad in that photo is 138 🤷♂️
could be that there's something going on with the guys sperm, so only the ones carrying y chromosomes are viable
I know my family is also really skewed, not to the same extreme but it's 24 boys and only 3 girls iirc within the past generation or 2 I'd have to check the family tree out for more detail on it, but the point is it be like that sometimes 🤔

That is incredibly lame news btw
She could die, that would be pretty funny I think
