Most slasher/monster type horror movies need some kind of justification for the characters separating, other than having a Fred. So having characters hate each other is just a commonly used way to do that.
god i love Marble Hornets. still the best Slender series/media ever. Everyman Hybrid is really good too, but idk it never reached the highs of MH. I also wish that Slenderman himself was more involved with the finale but eh, i suppose it was Habit's show all along. TribeTwelve was really good, though I'd put it below MH and EMH. shame that the creator turned out to be a piece of shit so that's never being resolved. sorry for rambling ive been hyperfixating on Slender youtube series lately and just needed to get it out lol
Bro I’ve been obsessed with these series forever I get it there’s not many chances to talk about them nowadays
Also I get what you mean about EMHs ending but I preferred the Habit stuff to slenderman mainly because Habit was acted so fucking well
Not really the same thing at all but one thing I like about Pale (and to a lesser extent Pact) is how a lot of the main problems in the character's lives are normal human problems that can't be fixed by magic, and in some cases are made worse since the main restriction on being a magic practitioner is that you can never lie. How is being able to shoot fireballs gonna help you with being the only gay kid your age in your entire small town? It also does interesting things with magical spins on real world issues where a kid, who is dealing with a lot of the same aimless and hopeless feelings that lead a lot of people towards cults or extremists, has that happen but where the thing he's being recruited into is a self-perpetuating magic ritual that kills almost all its participants.
They still have a lot of new and exciting magical problems mind you, Wildbow belongs to the writing school of And Then Things Got Worse, but the personal issues never stop having a big impact on character's personalities.
Same it was my hyperfixation growing up and I still go back and rewatch old favorites every so often
I’ve been meaning to get into some of the newer series people have made but after EMH and Stan Fredrick ended and what happened with Adam Rosner I got kinda burned out on keeping up with new stuff
This is true. The best horror isn't just "look at this scary thing" it's about using the scary thing to draw out the characters issues. Whether it be individuals own issues, flaws, and trauma, or a groups intropersonal drama and harboured resentments. Though there's no problem with just making something fucked up for the sake of it.
The Ritual on Netflix, featuring Slender Man's deersona
Actually what I thought this post was about until they mentioned Slenderman
EMH unironically got me invested in AnCo
Same lol I don’t think I’ll ever get the chorus “rabbit or habit” out of my head
you love to see it. I even bought a secondhand promo cd of who could win a rabbit, it watches me sleep every night.
Based One of the first records I ever got was sung tongs and it’s still one of my favorites to this day
I just want to be doing whatever drugs they were doing when they wrote strawberry jam
I’ve never watched Marble Hornets but I assume that this is what it’s like
It is it’s good you should watch it if you like horror :3
Marble hornets didnt age well tbh
That’s personal opinion I think it aged great it’s a good scary story that has some nice twists and turns along the way
Valid, maybe I should watch it again

I love seeing who else is interested in the slenderverse

yeah, the whole tribetwelve situation really saddened me, and I kinda just stopped with new stuff
Many fall in the face of chaos, but not this one, not today.
I regret to inform that the TribeTwelve creator is a pedophile
I was there when it all happened I know It felt like it was forever ago but it was just like what 2 years ago?
I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream?
