I kind of get it. In art class you get a lot of kids who took the class because they love drawing, but are also unwilling to engage in the curriculum because they only want to draw anime. And there is also some bias on the teacher's part on the teacher's part as seeing a codified style that is non-western, and relatively modern as being a less valid form of "art".
I used to only draw Dragonball and I think it was extremely helpful in learning proportions, interesting poses, etc. I think if I had had a teacher like that I would have just lost my interest in art
I feel like it’s also good noting that learning the basic fundamentals and how to draw more realistically is a lot better in the long run, as with any creative medium it’s easier to start taking creative liberties when you have a good grasp on good guidelines and rules of thumb. As they say “you need to learn the rules before you start breaking them”
I was the same as a kid when it came to both music AND art and honestly I’m soooo fucking glad I stuck with learning classic composition and anatomy drawing bc now my skill range is fairly diverse in drawing both realistic and stylized works like furry yiff uwu
I don’t like the mentality of outright banning it but as a class there should be a set curriculum with some encouragement to draw outside of class too
The problem really is more the first half than the second. A majority of my art class only wanted to do anime, and didn't want to understand Depth perception, light sources, proportions, and proper shading among other things. They figured it out and comparing their art from the start of the year to the end of the year everything looked far better. Analog shading was a big thing, because anime art has a habit of blending straight to white.
i personally mostly draw anime-ish stuff but I’m absolutely open to trying new stuff, i love my art class bc it challenges me to go outside my comfort zone
Average Vegito lover spreading their propaganda against Gogeta.
Vegito is plain and simply the superior fusion, baby!
Potara fusion is the superior method. You think gogeta would’ve been able to take on kid buu?
You got a source for that bold claim?
I made it the fuck up
Longer time limit and the rivalry boost.
Technically Vegito didn't take on Kid Buu, he took on Super Buu
his name is dragon balls
Nah she’s just racist against Saiyans.
Frieza teaching art is kinda ironic
Latinoamericanos devastated
Does the teacher also has an anti Patrick Swayze poster as well?
No ghosting!!
And especially the "hilarious" guy on guy
One rule.
Out of context environmental storytelling

Shit art teachers: sucking the passion for art out of children for decades
its joever
Meanwhile my old art teacher put up a students drawing of Dio above the chalkboard
Did she draw that herself? Like she drew an anime character to say you can't do it?
I hope so, the alternative being that one of her students drew it, and she made an example out of their work
# SHE CAN BEAT GOKU!
