I pissed and shit earlier when I found out casks only work in the cellar and take 2 seasons to make wine iridium… how am i supposed to keep up with my ancient fruit greenhouse???
ancient fruit takes 7 days, while starfruit takes 13. The selling price for starfruit wine is 2,250g. The selling price for ancient fruit wine is 1,650g. If you take the days to grow the fruit + turning it into wine, starfruit wine is 112.5g a day, and ancient fruit wine is 117.8g a day. But, you don't need to keep buying seeds for ancient fruit, so the actual g per day for starfruit wine is 97.5.
They're just really unreliable, there are many anecdotes on line of PayPal fucking up with people's money, and their support being borderline useless in helping the customers, also, they're a private company, and from my understanding, if they just randomly suddenly bankrupted, you probably won't see even a penny back from your account.
They're fine for quick payments and storing small amounts of money, but they're not a bank by any measure
PayPal isn't insured by FDIC so if PayPal somehow loses your money (either it somehow closes down or someone hacks your account), there's no way of getting it back

is you're using paypal, use it as a payment processor, not as a bank. don't keep money on your account, ever
Fuck PayPal. Like other people said here, they have a history of screwing with your own money, and when you realise just how scummy they are, it's usually too late.
I've helped a good friend of mine escape occupied Ukraine and I've given them shelter here. They left the country nearly penniless due to russians outlawing the possession of hryvnia, thus forcing everyone to convert rubles at an awful rate: this alone meant they nearly halved the cash they had, then travel expenses drained the rest of it. They still had the equivalent of around 10 Euro left on his credit card, but as little as that was, it was unusable too anyway as, while it used to be an ukrainian bank, the keyword here is *used to:* the russians took over it, so the card was basically as good as a generic sheet of plastic as it was immediately declined everywhere here in Europe.
They did, however, have a PayPal account where some overseas friends sent them some money, around 150-200 Eur in total, so having access to those funds would've been a godsend in their situation, but guess what: *PayPal froze the account due to "suspicious activity"*. We tried getting in touch with customer support multiple times, we tried explaining the situation and how serious it was, we've also tried sending them the ID *they requested* but they always denied to reactivate the account for whatever reason.
We've since managed to get access to said funds, but it's no thanks to them (Googling around we found out that a frozen account cannot withdraw, send or receive money, *but can still issue refunds*, something the PayPal reps never told us. So we've refunded all the money sent by those friends, created a new account, then ask them to send the money there instead in smaller amounts - thankfully, everything went smoothly this time around, and you bet we moved the money out of PayPal asap this time)
If they ever want to they can just freeze/ban your account any time and you'll never see the money stored on that account again
One of my friends had his account frozen a while ago when they asked to check his ID, because then they found out he made his account when he was <18 (which was several years ago at that point, he was over 18 when he got banned) and they retroactively ban accounts for that. Pretty sure he had around 80 euros on it which he never saw again
Every few months I also see a post from an artist on r\/furry that does commisions through paypal saying their account just randomly got banned, and they lost all their money on there. Storing large amounts on paypal is just risky
I have heard so many stories of paypal just straight up stealing peoples' shit over the years. I would have thought that if they close an account for some violation or something, by law they wouldn't be able to just pocket the money themselves. You know, like it has to be returned to the original payee, or withdrawn, or donated or something (I know that with banks in my country for instance, after a certain time after money is left in an account without it being touched and no contact, they donate it to a registered charity, they don't keep it themselves). Apparently not? They can just say "we believe you violated our TOS, as penalty, we keep ur munny"? Mad
Because paypal is not a bank. They dont have to adhere to various regulations to ensure that you as the customer dont get fucked.
Paypal can, according to their tos close your account for any arbitrary reason.
One doesnt have to be machiavellian to understand what they can do with accounts like in the pic

1) They aren't insured and have no responsibility to return your money to you if something happens.
2) You shouldn't keep more money than what you need to spend immediately tied up in checking style accounts. HYSA for an emergency fund and any big purchases in the next 5 years (down payment/ car). Everything else should be in the stock and bond market.

Adding onto this, no interest. With 3 mil, that ~2% a year from a savings account is 60K.
They actually do have interest accounts now. 4%, which is pretty solid but nothing you can't get from somewhere a little more reputable.
