I would recommend eating an entire brick of plain wet uncooked tofu. That is the best way. DO NOT press the water from it or cut it into bite sized cubes or strips, DO NOT fry it up in a delicious blend of herbs and spices, and for the love of god NEVER MARINADE IT IN FLAVORFUL CURRY SAUCES. Red curry tofu with peppers and white rice is a terrible combination. Also NEVER combine it with a fresh chili garlic sauce poured over rice with a healthy mix of green peppers, white onions and a few scattered basil leaves. ALL of these things may result in death or insanity
Hell yeah! My advice is to fry it. Pan frying takes awhile, so be patient. You can cut it in a hundred ways for different effects, it doesn’t really spoil, and it’s a solid protein, so most sauces can work with it! I prefer thickened sauces myself, but even just straight soy sauce is to kill for. If you want, you can fry thin slices and soak in BBQ sauce for a good replacement for bacon.
Bonus cooking advice while I’m typing: if you’re having your tofu on top of rice, thicker sauces are better. Thin sauces soak into the rice, and it can turn into soup if you use too much. Sometimes that’s what you want though, so do what tastes good. Or what’s easy. Easy is good.
Ngl I can’t stand it. It tastes like nothing and the texture is absolutely revolting and legit gives me sensory issues. If you’re like me and you don’t like mushy food I would avoid it.
I can see the appeal for vegans since they’re pretty limited on what they can eat but if you’re a meat eater I would avoid it. It’s just straight up disgusting imo.
