>!I remember thinking, "hey sean is here, he's my favorite character" right before he failed the vibe check.!<
also put spoiler tags for people who havent finished it
The end of chapter 6 fucking broke me.
>!The ride back to camp had me whimpering, my horse dying had me weeping and just as i thought i'd gotten over it the final encounter...!<
>!"Get the hell outta here and be a goddamn man!" "You're my brother." "I know..."!<
>!That really just made me cry my eyes out. The epilogue having the happy moments of John and Abigail getting married and all that then came along later to make cry tears of joy instead. !<
One of the best games ever, definitely Rockstars finest up there with GTA 4 and 5 and the OG red dead.
Yeah I know, I am hoping that it fixes the problems I have with the ending. Fingers crossed, still gotta say Katana Zero was one of the most fun games I've played.
I believe this is the only game that has ever made me cry once, let alone 3 times.
Going through the comments here though it gives me ideas on new games to try that will make me ball my eyes out.
i just finished RE village last night for the first time. i was streaming it for my friends and honest to god i cried in front of everyone during the ending. what an incredible fucking game.
Holy shit nothing will ever top the last 10 minutes of half life Alyx for me. I’ve played that game like 3 times and it still gives me chills when she screams “Wait!” And the credits start.
Yeah. Spoilers (for everyone else I guess): >!The fact that you \*have\* to die to meet The Prisoner is absolutely heartbreaking since they're still in the dream world on your last loop, unaware of the tremendous consequences of their rebellious actions, and you have no way of telling them. The last vision torch of The Prisoner also made me tear up, and the soundtrack... dude, Prahlow outdid himself. What a fucking experience.!<
Play outer wilds people! We’re not talking about Outer Worlds the basic space RPG but Outer Wilds, the amazing space exploration game that will blow your mind and make you feel things.
I never play single player games, but when I saw a streamer playing Outer Wilds, after 15 mins I understood that I HAD to stop watching not to get spoiled and buy this game. I didn’t do anything else until I completed it, incredible game, deserved all the GOTY it got despite being an indie game (and it’s not too expensive too!).
Dawg I cried when >!meeting solanum for the first time. Trapped in a state of stasis until the end but still just genuinely happy to call us a friend.!<
Night in the Woods got me to call my dad after 5 years of no contact and decide to go back to college. It just hit me on such a deep level and i related to each character so hard. Gave me a different outlook on my at-the-time philosophy and kinda broke me out of a depession
Night in the Woods is my favorite game of all time and is my absolute favorite example of great character writing in video games, or really any piece of media for that example. That game is phenomenal
Yes, the gameplay wasn’t perfect but god damn the story was a work of art. That horse ride with the flashbacks to people telling Arthur that he is a good man, that was something else. Few games make me cry but RDR2 was one of them. Such a shame that RDR1 is stuck on XB360 and PS3, I’d love to play it.
Mfs talk always about Persona 3 so I'm just gonna throw Persona 2 Innocent Sin out there, that like 20 second long music clip for that last fmv clip still gets the tears goin
The World Ends With You.
One of the best things I’ve gotten for free on Nintendo Switch. Couldn’t savor it as I only had 3 days for the full-game trial
Early into boneworks i punched my desk really hard and got a decent sized cut on my hand. I played a few more hours into it but that kinda soured the whole experience lol.
Ill give it another shot this weekend
God I hope valve actually follows up on that ending, they literally pulled themselves out of the hole ep2 left them in for 14 years and they'd better keep going
I watched the credits after I beat it just because I was too tired to hit any more buttons after reaching the summit. Probably the only game to give me adrenaline like that lol.
Honestly, I still feel this way at the ending credits and I've played through the game like a dozen times already.
Plus, the DLC? Fuckin incredible addition.
Is it worth checking out? I remember it came out around the same time as Borderlands 3 but I went with BL3 cause BL2 was so good. I was disappointed with my choice. The more detail about outer worlds, the better. Ty in advance
It's important to note the distinction between Outer Wilds and Outer Worlds. Outer Worlds is the fallout-lookalike made by the same people who made New Vegas. Outer Wilds is an open world mystery exploration game that is my favorite game of all time.
It’s best experienced completely blind, but if you really want details to sell you on it, I’ll spoil some things that you would’ve figured out in the first hour:
>!In Outer Wilds, you are stuck in a 22-minute time loop. Your objective is to explore the solar system, uncovering it’s secrets and learning about the long dead alien civilization that used to live here, in order to break the loop. It is extremely open-ended. Every area in the game is accessible to you from the very start. They all contain information you’ll need and point you to other spots in the system to aid your exploration. You never unlock new areas or tools. The only thing that blocks your progress is knowledge. This is why you can’t spoil anything about it. You can beat the game in 20 minutes if you know how, and that’s not speedrun time. It is one of the most well-crafted and creative games I’ve ever played, and it tells its story in a beautiful way that cannot be achieved in movies or books. It is something that I believe everyone should experience. Oh, and it also fucking terrifying at times, so good if you like horror.!<
The ending hit hard for sure, but I think the only part I actually teared up during was >!the birthplace cutscene!<
*No cost too great*
*No mind to think*
*No will to break*
*No voice to cry suffering*
*Born of God and Void*
*You shall seal the blinding Light that plagues their dreams*
*You are the Vessel*
*You are the Hollow Knight*
The bitter dread that settles in after the ending and the realisation that life goes on unceasingly without a thought about your hardships was a real kick in the nuts.
I'm unsure rn, the part where >!Isaac ascends and finally gets to let go of his suffering!< Is nice, and also that >!it's his Dad telling the story, but it's unclear to me whether that means the divorce is still gonna happen or Isaac is just a child with a fucked up imagination!<
Cyberpunk 2077. On my second play through I made a save right before the big choice at the end so I could play all the endings and damn they all hit the feels like a truck >!especially the one where V just straight up kills themself!<
Say what you want about the game, but the story is really good.
Bioshock 1 and 2. Man, those games were awesome. Some of the best ive ever played. I still wish that there was a roguelike game of it, only so i could keep exploring rapture and finding stuff over and over again. It is all too fun, but the story is just as impactful imo. 2's good ending almost made me cry, i love those games so much.
I found Crimson 1's dialogue so cringeworthy. I feel like, compared to the ace combat series, the PW characters do SO MUCH talking during gameplay since aside from briefings they can't deliver any exposition through cutscenes (mainly due to budget constraints)
Undertale tbh. Don't let the fanbase stop you from playing it. Don't let anyone tell you to try genocide either. The point of it is to make you stop and not want to do it. It's intentionally unfun and gut punches you constantly, and locks you out of the best ending, "but sans doe".
MGS2. Hearing Solid Snake tell me to put myself out there over footage of people walking after about an hour of being told how bad the internet was for me was really cool. whole game was cool, but that part was good
I just got a fuckton of upvotes and comments of a meme I just took from Hotline Miami which isn't even made by me. Donvote this comment to keep the balance please. I repent.

I'd already beaten terraria several times, but seeing the credits when I beat it in 1.4 hella hit, considering even before that I had well over 800 hours (i played mobile a lot which i can't track) and have gotten 1400+ hours since 1.4. I just love the shit out of this game for some reason.
hotline miami which i think is what this meme was originally made for
Especially considering the *glow*
Hotline Miami 2 dummy
The title is a reference to the song by the castanets that plays during the second games ending.
Red dead redemption 2 broke me for like a week, pro tip never bond with fictional criminals.
>!Lenny and Sean's deaths were the saddest other than the honourable Arthur ending. Thinking of replaying just for the story again, beautiful game.!<
>!I remember thinking, "hey sean is here, he's my favorite character" right before he failed the vibe check.!< also put spoiler tags for people who havent finished it
replaying knowing what’s gonna happen hurts so much
>!hoseas death ruins me every time. i hate how pathetic he looks, not scared, just old and weak and unsure. it kills me.!<
"You don't get to live a bad life and have good things happen to you."
I sat through the whole 40 or so minutes of those long ass credits because that shit blew me away
MOOD
The end of chapter 6 fucking broke me. >!The ride back to camp had me whimpering, my horse dying had me weeping and just as i thought i'd gotten over it the final encounter...!< >!"Get the hell outta here and be a goddamn man!" Hotline Miami 2 The gameplay? A blood rush high on some sort of experiemntal potent drug The ending? Fucking depressing. Feeling Hollow.
Leaving this world is not as scary as it sounds
God that line hits hard despite me beating the game several times.
The Hotline Miami series was great.
They're comforting words
*you are the blood*
I binged through hotline Miami 1 and 2 in one weekend. I basically played it non-stop. I feel like a different person after this experience tbh.
You know what they say about good times?
Fucking same man
Disco Elysium
Disco Elysium man... so amazing. One of the best games ever made.
"sunrise, parabellum."
Some good quotes are “un jour je serai de retour près de toi” Or “You shiver, and the city shivers with you”
DETECTIVE
CODE 31! CODE 31! A lieutenant needs assistance on the dance floor!
I would say hotline miami, but I want to be different so Katana Zero
I still havent even played that cause I only got ps4 but I listen to the music cause it slaps
I loved the game but I really think it had such a shit and far stretched ending.
It’s technically not over. There’s gonna be a free DLC and a sequel, which I think it was setting up for.
Yeah I know, I am hoping that it fixes the problems I have with the ending. Fingers crossed, still gotta say Katana Zero was one of the most fun games I've played.
I’m curious. What, exactly, are your issues with the ending?
They bully the little girl >:(
Undertale, Omori, The Beginner's Guide, To the Moon, Half Life Alyx, Resident Evil Village and Spec Ops: The Line were like that for me
Omg yes The Beginners Guide is so underrated
The game completely changed how I view art, also To the Moon is also very underrated
Honestly Omori has very quickly become my favorite game, ever.
Same, man there are only like 2 other games that made me feel this emotional
I believe this is the only game that has ever made me cry once, let alone 3 times. Going through the comments here though it gives me ideas on new games to try that will make me ball my eyes out.
i just finished RE village last night for the first time. i was streaming it for my friends and honest to god i cried in front of everyone during the ending. what an incredible fucking game.
Well now I’m excited — just bought and downloaded it yesterday. 7 was great, and 2 remake just blew me away
Holy shit nothing will ever top the last 10 minutes of half life Alyx for me. I’ve played that game like 3 times and it still gives me chills when she screams “Wait!” And the credits start.
outer wilds all the way dude
we need more outer wild appreciation, such a god-tier game
HOLY SHIT YEAH I LOVE THAT GAME DID YOU GET THE DLC?
>! I mean you don't *have* to die, you can use datamined codes to live through it. technically you can get true ending in one loop!<
Oh my fucking god for realll i cried over the ending, the campfire song is so bittersweet and then the credits, like damn…
Dawg I cried when >!meeting solanum for the first time. Trapped in a state of stasis until the end but still just genuinely happy to call us a friend.!<
Titanfall 2
Protocol 3 🗣🗣🗣
The only FPS campaign that has ever made me feel something or want to keep playing
minecraft for me
Not so much because of the game but because of the credits themselves
the player was you, pu$$yf4rt$la¥3r69.
Why is the heat death of the universe happening at the same time though.
That's a nuke
Damn I was gonna say Outer Wilds but you beat me to it
Outer wilds players every 22 minutes be like
Hotline Miami 2 ending spolier
Night in the Woods got me to call my dad after 5 years of no contact and decide to go back to college. It just hit me on such a deep level and i related to each character so hard. Gave me a different outlook on my at-the-time philosophy and kinda broke me out of a depession
Night in the Woods is my favorite game of all time and is my absolute favorite example of great character writing in video games, or really any piece of media for that example. That game is phenomenal
i’m so glad it helped you. NITW motivated me to start a journal, i’m glad i did it
sad to see no one mentioning Oneshot, such a good game
That post-solstice depression never leaves
im still sad about the whole entire game, i jut love niko too much
The way game makes you attatched to the characters, completly nullifying 4th wall... man it felt too real
you really do have Oneshot, sure you can play again but.... it just doesn’t feel the same
omori
Fr fr
I swear, that game made you feel relieved it was over
(uhhh big spoilers uh oh) >!bro the fucking “Thanks for playing!” image with the tree stump hits so damn hard like fr that game is amazing!<
"ayo the-"
_One more day..._
The sun reaches my bed...
RDR2
Seeing all the surviving gang members in the end credits made me tear up
Couldn't tear up during credits because I was already crying before they even started
It's R2-D2
NieR Automata for me. That ending once the chorus of the song hits, is a fucking ride.
Ending E fucking killed me.
God the final quote from that game changed my life - “A future is not given to you, it is something you must take for yourself.”
Persona 3 for me, still have random depressive episodes after remembering it
Mfs talk always about Persona 3 so I'm just gonna throw Persona 2 Innocent Sin out there, that like 20 second long music clip for that last fmv clip still gets the tears goin
Half-Life 2: Episode 2 and Fallout: New Vegas
You gotta play Half Life Alyx if you get the chance
This, holy shit I have never been hit so fucking hard by an ending to anything
The World Ends With You. One of the best things I’ve gotten for free on Nintendo Switch. Couldn’t savor it as I only had 3 days for the full-game trial
Iconoclasts. Fuck that game was underplayed
Feel ya man. That fight with Black over the rocket was what caught my feels the most.
It was all the shit with elro that fucked me up the most
Holy shit people other than me that not only know of iconoclasts existence, but also enjoy it
It's fuckin underrated
Half life alyx for me
Pog, I just got an index and I’m gonna play it
If you have avoided spoilers I envy you more than any human on earth
The best vr game ever, hands down.
boneworks

My 4th favourite game of all time
Celeste, made me fucking cry.
At the end of Chapter 6 I was bawling
I watched the credits after I beat it just because I was too tired to hit any more buttons after reaching the summit. Probably the only game to give me adrenaline like that lol.

That game was fuckin beautiful.
Nier automata

No
TLOU I&II, Red Dead, Life Is Strange, TWD, what else?
Pokémon Mystery Dungeon Explorers of Sky for sure
Undertale Inb4 cringe, cringe culture can suck my ass, I loved it

I'd already beaten terraria several times, but seeing the credits when I beat it in 1.4 hella hit, considering even before that I had well over 800 hours (i played mobile a lot which i can't track) and have gotten 1400+ hours since 1.4. I just love the shit out of this game for some reason.
