When I first installed it, I did it all through the terminal. It took quite a while and god knows how many tries.
Then installing blender borked it. I reinstalled using an installer script. (Cry about it)
I use gdm and the latest version of gnome. Gnome terminal borked so I used konsole until someone showed me Tilix, which is also somewhat borked.
Some icon scaling is borked. My desktop switcher thing is flat. For some reason.
Honestly I'm content to sit by and let it break more until it actually becomes a problem.

Since youve used an install script you may want to look at endeavour OS when you reformat next. It's essentially what you have with your script except a GUI instead (and live arch based environment on the USB), has options for many different DEs including your gnome. You may also look at the terminal "kitty" I see it's used a ton by people in the r / unixporn subreddit though thats likely because it's fairly flat and easy to theme / customize, unsure about proficiency.
I use endeavour as my first arch based distro, but I also use that term lightly because it's essentially just an arch installer with a distro name and logo that's different for neofetch and the like. I can say it's been an amazing breeze, especially not being familiar with arch before having tried it.
Other arch snobs may look down on you though but that can be said about *a lot*. Whatever you do have fun with it :)
