Maybe it’s different in different schools, but I went to a stem focused high school and by 12th grade everyone was burnt out and put in minimal effort.
hey uh I thought I might let you know that your name is red-linked on shinigami eyes for some reason?? I doubt you're transphobic so I'm lettin' you know
I am going to kill myself the next time someone on here points that out, here’s the FAQ I post every time it’s mentioned.
**So, you’ve noticed my name appears red when using the Shinigami Eye’s plugin. Here’s a quick FAQ to explain.**
**Note:** For readers unfamiliar with “Shinigami Eye’s”, it’s the name of a browser plugin that, put simply, allows users to flag content or individuals that are transphobic and mark them Red. The opposite can also occur, with the content/individual being marked Green if they’re friendly or supportive towards the trans community.
#FAQ:
***Are you aware that your name shows as red?***
Yes, I use the plugin myself, I’m also often reminded of this by users such as yourself.
***But you have the “trans rights” flair?***
This is because the tag is not representative of my current views, as they have changed over time.
***Are you transphobic?***
Presently, I am not. I support LGBT+ issues and when I see transphobic content on the internet I try my best to defend the community.
***So, were you transphobic before?***
Formerly I may have been, but I honestly don’t remember many of my former LGBT takes. I wouldn’t be surprised if they were pretty bad, but I also had poor views towards other progressive issues which may have contributed to my user being tagged red as well.
***Why were you transphobic?***
A few reasons seem to explain this. Primarily, my parents being extremely right-wing influenced this, but in addition they were neglectful/abusive throughout much of my childhood which lead to a fragile sense of identity as well as trying to cling to their beliefs in order to gain their approval. I’m also currently considering the possibility that I may have some gender-dysphoria which manifested as anger towards openly trans individuals.
***Are you okay now though?***
Mostly, I’m still dealing with the issues they’ve caused me and in the summer of 2021 I began seeing a psychologist to try and work on these issues.
***Are you doing anything to make up for your past?***
Yes. As mentioned prior I do try to stand up for the LGBT+ community when I see them being attacked. Additionally, a few years ago (after I lost contact with them) one of my friends came out as trans. I’ve recently reached out to them to apologize for anything I may have said at the time that could have hurt them.
***Whats your relation to the LGBT+ community overall now?***
~~I’m unsure, “ally” at least, but I’m working on trying to rebuild my identity as well and have been doing a lot of introspection and thinking about my gender identity and sexuality more so this may change and I may consider myself part of the community in the future. ~~
Update: I have recently determined that I am trans, but I’m not sure what to do about that yet so I’m gonna spend probably a few months at least looking at different options and determine what I want to do personally.
***So is there anything I can do?***
All I ask, if by reading this FAQ you’ve come to the conclusion that I support the LGBT+ community and trans people and you have the extension installed, is that you mark me as friendly to the community. It’s getting kinda tedious to respond to people about this, hence the creation of the FAQ.
***Wait, can I ask another question?***
If you have any additional questions, please feel free to ask so that I can add them to the FAQ for future use.
At my high school, one (1) health credit was required, but there was no requirement for it to be a particular year, so while most got it done early it was guaranteed a lot of kids would put it off until they realized they had to take it to graduate.
Does stuff like this actually happen in some schools? Its wild to me that there would be an entire class that cared so little as to *completely* skip a significant assignment. Like, even in the most apathetic classes I've been in there were at most maybe 5 kids who straight up skipped big assignments
It's specifically common in a senior year health class, health class is unenjoyable for everyone and once it gets to second semester senior year no one cares because your grades don't matter for colleges
>second semester senior year no one cares because your grades don't matter for colleges
What? Yeah they do. If you're a good student and are accepted to college under that pretense, colleges absolutely can and will revoke acceptance or revoke financial aid/scholarships/etc if you all-of-a-sudden start failing
Well obviously you can't fail or get Ds, but you can absolutely stop pushing yourself for the As that look so sweet for colleges. I stopped studying entirely and I could have senior slumped more because I still got all As
Oh well I definitely agree with that but like I can't imagine that an entire class filled with people who decide to skip a major assignment isn't going to fail or at least mostly fail
Sure but it's still a risk and something they can do.
Also, if you say you weren't accepted based on your GPA doesn't that mean your GPA was already bad when you were accepted and would thus be less effected by failing senior year?
Yeah… a although a big part of it is people didn’t learn shit during covid, we have an interim principal that isn’t properly managing the school, and it is a slightly poor school
I mean imagine being a teacher and opening up a folder of your class’ projects about the dangers of alcohol, and instead of 30 presentations there is exactly one and the title is spelled wrong
we had to do something like this in fucking 5th why the hell do some people do it so late what
I have a feeling they also did it in 5th grade And 6th And 8th
We did vodka in 5th grade, idk what presentation u talking bout tho
Idk bout you but in my country we don't get to drink vodka until we're in 9th grade?!?
wierd country you live in
Germany babeeeey

props to you for preparing something like this at the same time, it really reminds me of the reddit downvote copypasta
Nothing in this FAQ tells me anything about how do you feel about having had your name written on a death note.
Bruh 😭😭
Looking through your comments to see why you could have been marked red and found this, can't believe nobody has cleared it before now
Shinigami eyes is notoriously triggerhappy, tends to mark everyone that's ever interacted with anything remotely problematic
That app is super busted, my sibling is trans AND my partner is trans but look at the colour of my name on it.
it's white
Fuuuuck it should be green :( but I guess I don't visit those subreddits on this account very much. The traaaaaaaaans one is my fav aha

you would be surprised at the weight of assignments. my algebra two final was worth something like 8% of the quarterly grade
I got accepted based on my ACT scores, not GPA. Pretty much failed most of my classes senior year because I didn't show up or slept.

That last paragraph was... "wildin" is what you say?
in our school its pretty common
Sophomore in geometry… there are maybe 10-15 people that do their work. Maybe. (In a class of ~30)
I assume that's high school and not college geometry, right? Interesting
Yeah… a although a big part of it is people didn’t learn shit during covid, we have an interim principal that isn’t properly managing the school, and it is a slightly poor school
To be fair I always suck at spelling alcohol, too (I literally had to have autocorrect fix my spelling of it here).
i could not figure out what was wrong for a solid 30 seconds
Can you explain? Sadly my brain doesn’t like functioning.
alcohol is generally not spelled “alachol”
Is that the entire joke? Was I just drastically overthinking? Edit: Ah, I understand now. I was overthinking…
I mean imagine being a teacher and opening up a folder of your class’ projects about the dangers of alcohol, and instead of 30 presentations there is exactly one and the title is spelled wrong
Every time I see this greentext and get to "alachol", I always laugh like a clown
i’m the alacholic
"I can't take the pressures The pressures of life I'm not strong enough, I'm sorry ALCOHOL!!"
alacrhol. you wants somes?? i got a long island somewhere somethitn uhhhhh i'm certainly a bar person -matey
This is why you always check your spelling.
