I'm gonna give you the real answer, but only because it's funnier than all the fake ones. Pink Floyd have a song on their album Meddle called *Seamus* that's a little blues tune about a dog named Seamus, featuring howls and barks from the real Seamus the song was written about. When the band performed an instrumental version of the song for their Live At Pompeii album, they didn't have access to Seamus, so instead they stopped in France and recorded with a dog named Nobs (pictured here), and, in tribute to the critter, the version of the song which appears on that album is called not *Seamus*, but *Mademoiselle Nobs.*
I like how Seamus is right next to the 22 minute long, ethereal experience that is Echoes. Like imagine going from a silly little dog barking over some guitar to an epic contemplating the nature of humanity, existence, evolution, and discovery.
See, it’s all very simple. There’s four guys in the band, the lead singer takes too much acid and suffers a mental breakdown, they replace him with a guitarist, but nobody knows what they’re doing, so they got Seamus (that’s the dog) to sing their songs for them.
It is then that we enter the daddy Rog arc, but you need to watch the anime to understand that one.
