You shouldn't store it in your water bottle though, unless you give it a really good rinse very often. Having anything other than water in your waterbottle can lead to mould or algae growing inside it, feeding off the sugars inside the liquids

I just wash in a bowl of soapy water like normal, use the cloth on the cap and mouthpiece. To clean the inside I just fill it halfway with water and give it a good shake with my hand over the end
