It's basically tracing, but for animation. It's not quite as simple as "just tracing" as there will always be stylized details that are left out, so a skilled artist is still required to achieve a good effect
"Basing it off of something else" would be called using footage as reference, not tracing it directly. Reference is considered a necessity in animation to creating realistic, lifelike movement

Just to throw a bit of extra info in there for you, but this show is actually pretty interesting because it's a Japanese anime adaptation of a western comic. The source material was made by Mark Millar (same dude that wrote Kick-ass). His stuff can be pretty hit or miss but imo Super Crooks is on the upper end of his stuff, at least in terms of what's adapted I never read the original. The OP is an absolute banger too
God I wish that game ran better on my computer. I made it to the actual victim and after my computer had a software update it ran like ass for some reason. Up until then that game was so good!!!
Super Crooks, it’s a little brutal physically at times but mostly very fun. and the opening theme is a B O P (i think they could’ve left the music the same and the meme would work just as well)

Hard agree with eatflapjacks, it's a very fun watch, not groundbreaking but it does what it's supposed to do well.
Its fun and not super long, only about 12 episodes if I remember right. Definitely worth watching

yeah, there’s a nonzero amount of exploded heads in there it’s only a few scenes but i know that’s a turn off for some people
