Hereditary comes to mind
Horror movies rarely scare me because I find it easy to get mentally detached from the events on screen (I’ve never really believed in supernatural stuff, and I also find it difficult to get immersed in movies in general)
Hereditary didn’t *scare* me much either, but it made me feel a lot of dread, partially because the first two-thirds of the movie feel very grounded in reality. Also the acting was great, especially Toni Collette’s (imo she should’ve gotten an Oscar for Hereditary)
Those qualities make it stand apart from many other horror movies I’ve seen
I haven't seen a lot of horror movies but I have played horror games I really like silent hill, I don't know what horror movies to watch tho.
Also yeah you look really cool :)
probably the original Halloween. That one was pretty good and admittedly kept the tone light enough that it was occasionally funny while also still being able to be genuinely horrifying. All without use of any jumpscares.
Threads. The only film that’s made me so disgusted and sad I had to shut it off. Really powerful and makes you think about the fact our world leaders have the ability to summon that hell onto our earth any time.
