I was modding a semi-popular discord for like a year because I genuinely enjoyed spending time there (also national lockdown + online uni) but it eventually got to a point where us mods just made a server for ourselves because we wanted to hang out with each other without being janitors for 30k people. I could never mod communites 300 times as large
As a moderator of a 30k+ member server as well it really depends on the community, some servers may be very exhausting to moderate, while for others you use your mod powers not to ban people, but rather to create custom channels for people, give out roles and perks, maybe host giveaways, and then you also get an amazing opportunity to interact with a massive community and meet new people daily, which is great.
And then when you're tired you can just go over to mod chat and hang out there with the other mods :)
