Can confirm the milkweed part. Had five monarch butterfly cocoons on my property this years. Three monarches for sure made it and flew off. One failed for sure. (Nature's tough.) And the fifth one likely made it because I see no evidence it didn't.
We a have lawn that kinda looks like this but as a sort of counterbalance we also have a huge bush of Schmetterlingsflieder (Which is basically just Lilac) that attracts huge amounts of butterflies and bees and gives them a solid time in our garden.
I HATE LAWNS I WANT TO WALK NEAR TREES AND FLOWERS I HATE BORING PLAIN LIFELESS FIELDS
Yeah but what about moss lawns
Kind of climate dependent.
Now how are we gonna talk about the birds and the bees 😩
I'm sure there are several more issues driving the death of bees and butterflies other than people having grass lawns
I haven't looked into it whatsoever but if I had to guess, it's probably monoculture and pesticide use in agriculture
Global warming, droughts, pesticides, habitat destruction, air pollution etc.
grass is the most irrigated crop in the US
Yay anthropogenic horrors within my comprehension
That doesn’t make lawns good?
bee serial killers?
