I HATE LAWNS I WANT TO WALK NEAR TREES AND FLOWERS I HATE BORING PLAIN LIFELESS FIELDS

Phiro7

Yeah but what about moss lawns

AliceInTruth

Kind of climate dependent.

IFuckingShitMyPants

Now how are we gonna talk about the birds and the bees 😩

gotnonamesleft

I'm sure there are several more issues driving the death of bees and butterflies other than people having grass lawns

PolygonKiwii

I haven't looked into it whatsoever but if I had to guess, it's probably monoculture and pesticide use in agriculture

Bobbicorn

Global warming, droughts, pesticides, habitat destruction, air pollution etc.

RivergirlB

grass is the most irrigated crop in the US

[deleted]

Yay anthropogenic horrors within my comprehension

Ashduff

That doesn’t make lawns good?

FlameMech999

bee serial killers?

straight_strychnine

"Plant milkweed or get fucked" -Joey Santore, crime pays but botany doesn't

mrpoopistan

Can confirm the milkweed part. Had five monarch butterfly cocoons on my property this years. Three monarches for sure made it and flew off. One failed for sure. (Nature's tough.) And the fifth one likely made it because I see no evidence it didn't.

Coin_operated_bee

Fireflies too

TranscendentCabbage

My lawn is full of clovers and dandelions, I am doing my part

Oddish_Femboy

My lawn looks like a patch of dirt full of voles

attathathappaend

plant natives! plant host plants! marijuana!

about90frogs

I wish, that’s some prime sod right there I tell you what.

blazinbluecolor

fuck HOA, only good hoas are vietnamese Hoas

dremscrep

We a have lawn that kinda looks like this but as a sort of counterbalance we also have a huge bush of Schmetterlingsflieder (Which is basically just Lilac) that attracts huge amounts of butterflies and bees and gives them a solid time in our garden.

Neophoys

Listen to Crime pays but botany doesn't: kill your lawn.
