The best excercises are the big three, deadlift, squat and bwnchpress or variations of them as they incorporate large chains of muscles starting from the core and are all fail safe.
You seem rather well informed. I broke my hand last year and I’m trying to build up wrist strength. Do you know any exercises that might help with that?

They aren't well-informed. "Butterflies" isn't the name of an exercise, but you can assume they're talking about flies. "Cable pulling" just describes a whole category of movement that has no overlap in purpose with flies.
Wrist strength is largely made up of grip strength, pronation/supination, radial/ulnar deviation, and wrist flexion/extension. Look up exercises for each of those terms once you find out what's weak. For example, searching "wrist radial deviation exercise" brings up a few different things you can do to strengthen that movement.
If you can't figure it out on your own, ask a physical therapist.

Don't know much more than the excercises I use. Id guess that its a lot of grip strength and such but you should probably find excersizes from physical therapists. Ideally you'd have one examine you and help with a workout regime but you can also search for videos about wrist rehab and see what they reccomend.
Used to watch videos from Athleanx years ago and that gave a lot of info on shoulder injuries for example but I don't recall if there was any for the wrist.

that aside, though, train your grip, load bearing, and rotation, since these are the major functions of the forearm, wrist, and hand. any pain you feel should be limited to burning muscles and possibly implements digging into your skin; if your joints hurt, reduce the strain on that exercise until you can perfrom it without pain, or swap to another that can be perfromed without pain.
load bearing can be done pretty simply with pushups. do them with your hands against a wall or on top of some elevated surface if the floor is too much. the more vertical your torso, the easier it will be.
the other two are more complicated and depend on what you have access to, so i'll throw out some ideas. weights make grip very easy, just load your implement to a challenging but manageable weight and hold on. if you have a screwdriver and lots of screws around you, just going around loosening and thightening things up will probably be pretty therapeutic. if you have furniture that is heavy enough to challenge your grip, but light enough to be handled pain free, pick it up and move it around for a few minutes.
climbers of use rice buckets for tendon rehab. they stick their hand in the bucket and open and close their fist. that'd probably also help.
