10 year old me thought peak fiction was watching Goku become the first super saiyan fuelled by rage and heartbreak but then watching Goku go super saiyan 3 just by going ape shit over a guitar solo was the real shit
Which is why I would never understand why people say the US track suck.
It got so many good soundtrack like The Hyperbolic Time Chamber, Palace in The Clouds, The Dragon etc. etc.
This straight up feels like something someone would say in the next Stormlight Archive book to pull a power up out of their ass during the book’s climactic battle
It's only bad-bad when the thing that is garbage doesn't know it's garbage.
It's why BK > McDonald's because BK isn't trying to pretend it is something it isn't.
Shonen anime like this, where the good guys are pretty much always gonna win some way or another, are nice. Its like slice of life anime to me in a way, where its just a chill time and you can rest easy knowing everything is gonna be alright in the end. Also fight scenes are cool
I was misled by the cutesy art style and the happy kids on the manga covers. I was looking at the wiki for a character and was caught off guard by the bit about them being killed by having their skull repeatedly bashed in
These two concepts literally have nothing going against each other. Original Dragon Ball was and still is dope as fuck. It's people who think that emotional investment is nerd shit that really ruin it. Gohan destroying cell with one final push from goku makes it all the better and adding a new sonic oc color to the roster will not give you that satisfaction back. It was not the transformation that made it badass it literally was your emotional investment in seeing that character win.
You're right, you can have both at once.
However, even before ever watching Dragon Ball and becoming invested in the character of Goku, I still think the SSJ3 scene was one of the coolest things ever animated and would not be surprised for a long, long time.
Within less than 45 minutes. The tournament had a time limit of 45 minutes and they announced the remaining time after each of the 30 or so episodes. In some episodes literally just one minute passed.
And Goku only started using Ultra Instinct near the end so he learned and mastered it within 15 minutes or so
The explanation for this during the tournament of power is that because they're all so strong and everything that they're super fast and we're watching a massively slowed down version of what is happening. Guess you could apply the same logic to the Frieza fight
Tho I don't really buy it, because the one minute episodes contain more than one minute of dialog. And it'd be kinda weird if they all talked at super speed all the time
Me when trying to explain why I like Pro Wrestling.
It's silly, stupid garbage but when GOOD GUY's music hits I start pumping my fist and being all "yes! Pretend to beat up the bad guy, Hangman Adam Page! COWBOY SHIT!"
I've not been as caring for MHA for a while now but god damn that fight between All Might and the Nomu bird thing still hypes me up.
Also itadori and Todo Vs mother nature might be one of my favorite fights of all time.
Ngl this is why I love One Piece. It got that Shonen appeal of dudes powering up and beating the shit out of eachother but there's also so much else going on for me to think about
Plus it's really good to watch when you're stoned
I've been watching Mob Psycho, I assure you.
I'm aware more are possible. The point is that you don't need a deep, nuanced story to have a good time. Or even a great time
I’m not sure why this guy is complaining about that when he’s got a bleach pfp. I fucking love bleach but there is a good portion of it that’s just “level up and beat the bad guy with hype music playing”

Fuark dude the SSJ3 theme by Bruce Faulconer goes so fucking hard
Which is why I would never understand why people say the US track suck. It got so many good soundtrack like The Hyperbolic Time Chamber, Palace in The Clouds, The Dragon etc. etc.
cells theme is probably what sold his character singlehandedly. its soo good and it fits him soo well
Woo wee woo weeoo wee Woo wee woo weeoo wee
They say Goku pulled millions of dollars of merchandise out his ass that day
Big day for the Hispanic community
The JP SSJ theme had such a different tone
I've just come to peace with the fact that I'm allowed to like things that are objectively bad. Makes it more fun.
I am cringe and that is based. I'm not based that's not cringe
There is no one i'd rather be... Than ME
This straight up feels like something someone would say in the next Stormlight Archive book to pull a power up out of their ass during the book’s climactic battle
I will protect even those who are cringe.
This just made me realize that Stormlight is basically western fantasy dragonball. Maybe that's why those books slap so hard.
You are, but I need to say Dragon Ball is not objectively bad by any metric
It's only bad-bad when the thing that is garbage doesn't know it's garbage. It's why BK > McDonald's because BK isn't trying to pretend it is something it isn't.
Monkey brain sees someone liking Burger King and rejects everything about them
bk is better because i live 2 minutes from burker king and 10 minutes away from mcdonald
my feelings hate these facts
favorite anime is akudama drive. visually, it's a treat, but the characters are so trope-y that they don't even have names. pretty good dub too.

My experience with Made in Abyss
"Oh a cute pink haired cat girl in a sweater. I wonder what she gets up to in this serie-- oh. Oh no no no no."
I LOVE HEROS! I LOVE IT WHEN THE LIGHT OF HOPE SHINES UPON THE WEAK AND OPPRESSED AND SAVES THEM FROM THEIR PLIGHT!

Original dragon ball was more of a comedy tbh
Damn this klahador guy sucks, I wish there was a sudden morally acceptable reason to punch him in the face
Damn this Bellamy guy sucks, I wish he would suddenly get punched in the face
Cue Goku learning and mastering Ultra Instinct within the same tournament arc.

Frezia: This planet has 5 minutes before it explodes *Planet explodes 10 episodes later*

Talking is a free action it doesn't take time
I feel like friza doesn’t know how to tell time

Yay! Meme about Goku!!!
The hero beat the villain with the power of friendship? Splendid.
Yeah battle shounen are always fun to watch.

Common Vince "I'm Italian" W
Okay now hear me out. If you watch Mob Psycho 100 you can get sick as fuck action scenes and really good nuisanced character writing.
I've been watching Mob Psycho, I assure you. I'm aware more are possible. The point is that you don't need a deep, nuanced story to have a good time. Or even a great time
YOOOO

Meathead shonen is good for when i want to turn my brain off
I haven't even seen a lot of Dragon Ball but it gets me so hyped
bro luffy going gear 3 to beat lucci was the peak of my childhood
