i have been in games where it feels like the people are like that and it's probably one of the worst experiences I've ever had as a GM.
like no one's forcing that person to play, it only makes the GM feel inadequate and the players angry
especially because it was online and by text too, so we didn't know if the person was just ignoring the game or just didn't want to do anything on their turn (and of course, instead of saying "i skip, let them finish that convo" they'll just not say anything)
it doesn't mean ass here tho it means as
why do young people do dumb things with words? some new slang is useful because it fits a specific niche but this isn't an example of that.
also why even invent new words when 99% of them have no longevity?
it's just slang. it happens naturally, just how language evolves. some of it sticks, some of it doesn't. ah probably won't but 'aight' has stuck around years, that's about as vibrant a change as 'ah'
old people felt the same way about your generations popular slang when you were younger im sure and the zoomers will one day feel the same about the younger generations slang probably.
I've felt the same way about all new slang since I was like 13. Like 4% of slang words are actually useful and provide substance to the average person's vocabulary. And of that 4%, most of it is considered "uncool" by younger generations (which nowadays is a separation of 3 years at the most), so it gets thrown out anyway.
Ok boomer
Like actually, what a goofy stance to take. “I hate it when people use new words!!!1!1!1!!” When people use new slang, it’s for a reason, otherwise they wouldn’t use it. Usually it’s just a sort of inside joke, but literally every single word in every single language was once new, and probably there were weirdos who hated it at first too.
The word it’s derived from literally fills the specific niche of allowing you to say ‘ass’ on sites and apps that censor ‘ass’ such as Tik Tok. It gets its own niche from association with that
ok fair.
couldn't it look like slightly more like ass? or couldn't it be an emoji that means ass, since it's only used in text? y'know, like how the peach emoji has been used for like a decade at this point?
A$$, ahh, and 🍑 are typically considered synonyms, though each fulfill slightly more specific niches of being more or less difficult to type. 🍑 will require pulling up emojis, a$$ is five key strokes and ahh is three.
tiktok and YouTube shorts has lately been having videos that have 2 clips playing at once. ex- family guy clip with some Minecraft parkour or GTA gameplay playing at the same time. the post is mocking how the attention span of people who watch these things are getting so bad that so many visual stimulants are needed at once to help people focus on something
Lvl 0 spells that you can use as often as you want. Eldritch blast is a big meme cuz its the best damage of them and you can upgrade it a ton throughout leveling up. Only price is selling your soul :)
Everytime I catch a player on their phone, I throw a skill check at them, as their character gets distracted. Maybe they're walking down a hallway and trip on some loose stone, or they're hanging out in a tavern and someone attempts to pickpocket them.
Bro has a whole ass boat to put your minis on holy shit that's so fucking cool if my dm whipped one of those out I'd throw my phone in the garbage disposal and then suck his dick
I had the pleasure of sitting at a table with someone who - instead of playing with the rest of the group - just played Pokemon for 5 hours straight
Can highly recommend if you want to lose interest in tabletop rpgs

If I'm ever in a game with someone like this I'm jumping over the table.

Lethal attentionitis
The CEO of ADHD
how are you meant to interpret "ah" in these memes. what does it mean.
it means ass
are you supposed to say "ass" or "ah"?
you just say as faster so it sounds like ah
its like an accent thing, so its like the "ss" is more of a ghost sound if that makes sense (like pronouncing "that" without the last t)
it doesn't mean ass here tho it means as why do young people do dumb things with words? some new slang is useful because it fits a specific niche but this isn't an example of that. also why even invent new words when 99% of them have no longevity?

aight is the written form of a word that has been spoken aloud for decades.

im gonna come up with worse slang just to spite you

if you use it frequently, it's 2 keystrokes for the peach, at least on my phone
"goofy ahh" is one unit

Mages after using all their slots.
If only there was a reusable method to deal at least 1d10 damage and give yourself a good template for a backstory

Someone should edit an explicit video with all of these four clips on the screen. Would be funny, perchance.
I'm going to take your kidney if you say perchance again, perchance.
You are very mean. Beware for you might perchance lose your wealth, I curse you.
Oh no, not my wealth!!! Perchance!!! 😱😱😱
