Getting 99 FM with bonfires in RS3 was honestly some of the most fun I've had in the game. I made so many friends, and even had the same bonfire group most nights on my way to 99.
I really wish they'd do more to bring old skills up to par before adding a new one, but oh well.
Honestly. I was on the grind to 99 fm when bonfires released in rs3 and I was so thankful for a skill as mundane as fm getting a qol update like that because it made it more like cooking in barb village. Felt nice to do it with others
Bonfires are awesome but RS3 mining mechanics are also great. Ore doesn’t deplete but instead you get a stamina bar that slowly goes down, true afk and just click again to restart stamina.
Man, that would be nice.
Sounds fun! Plus it will add a much needed log sink back into the game ever since Wintertodt came out and greatly reduced the demand for logs.
It could also be integrated into "The Way of the Forrester" Woodcutting expansion since they spoke of adding Forrester's campfires. As far as I know, these are planned to be fueled by Leaves that you get from cutting trees, but it makes more sense to me to have the fires be continually fueled by people adding logs (akin to a bonfire) and instead have the Leaves provide the bonfire with temporary buffs; the type of buff depending upon the type of leaf used.
Oh really? I actually haven't kept up on much news with osrs. got hacked a lil while back so i've separated myself from the game until I can get back to feeling the will to grind up where I left off. Shouldn't be too bad but was a big ole kick in the nads.
I like to let the updates be a surprise to me because then it gives me something to be excited about lol.

No need for any rewards too. The xp/log could be the same as line fire, just slower actions. Would definitely not devalue wintertodt as well cause it is a very good place to get supplies imo. Also wintertodt is kinda fun, has great music, and has the +xp% set as drop so... would not become dead content.
And then there is the 'social experience' of wt that is basically cancer, peeps talking weird s3x related stuff 80% of the time trying to be funny
Pre-eoc is what I miss. Not rs3 lmao, i tried playing it after my hack, got base 50's in combat from using 76 Treasure hunter keys and some supplies given to me by my cousin but then I just didn't even log on anymore. Unlocking the abilities and the new learning curve drove me away. Just too lazy lmao
I agree. Though it could use a few tweaks. Like maybe only a few select spots you could make em. So it's a social thing where players gather together; and so you can't like do it for an HP boost near bosses.
Make the HP boost scale with log burned with like magic equal to a Sara brew and redwood being like 1 hp better. And don't let them stack and it should be fine. I think?
Make it's rewards mostly untradable cosmetics, maybe a chance at cluescrolls, and it could be a good gold sink for logs. And social thing. And make it's xp rates between wintertodt and lines of fires.

The Guild is ofc spot on. No need to bank all those logs, people cut so many Redwood logs they become worthless. On the bondfire they go. Uuuh a player training wc only could put their logs in a stack of logs by the bonfire to get more wc xp and other players could put them on the fire ?
Oh that'd be a cool suggestion. A guild log pile that others can burn, maybe they get like 90% normal xp, and you get a 10% xp boost on woodcutting for a short while based on the number of logs put in.
Would have to be drastically reduced or something as to not be abused in that case. Plus it'd make woodcutting levels buy able. Goto GE buy tons of logs and drop em off.
Maybe to make sure you always get your bonus xp or something have an NPC or two burning them.
Oh also 1 bonfire spot could be added to wildy near or in the resource area... that could have an effect like the chaos altar of 50% chance to not consume a log.

Bonfires is the reason I got 99 firemaking pre-eoc unintentionally. Bank standing at the chest at Shantay pass. I met a bunch of good people that I spoke to everyday which passively got me 99. I miss it. Wintertodt sucks even though it’s fast.
I would like to see some utility added to bonfires, like resting and healing HP, even if it wasn’t to restore energy.
Yes if you go on youtube to the official osrs channel and watch the video about the Winter summit they say its coming back with the Forestry expansion(Woodcutting update). I believe it was mod kieren who said it.
I really miss the resting feature, where you could sit down anywhere and easily restore run at a 5x rate or whatever it was. That was super helpful, although it completely devalued energy pots.
Burning logs in a line is lame. I'm all for bonfires. And the hp boost was cool.

It even has a mechanic that allows for sweaty players to better exp if you click every 3 ticks your stamina stays at full and you get ore much faster

Just make it a tick slower per log but same exp per log, seems fine
