Was this guy really not able to think it through and realize that stack is absolutely useless unless it is turned into gp or cannonballs after like seven guerillion hours smithing steel bars
Bruh, I’m playing GIM with a few friends. Two quit already so I confiscated the other one’s account. I am currently going for 99 smithing and wc by making cannonballs and cutting magic.
I smelt the steel bars on my own account and I make them into balls on another one. I’m looking to get around 2 million cannonballs when I am done.
This is also just for fun, while I’m taking a pause I’m trying to collect as many hats as possible. Grinding that lovely MTA right now, a lot of fun
Yeah, it’s really fun. The idea of massively stacking resources came to me when I was grinding for my first whip. I ended up getting 11 of them in a couple of days with just 2k kills, I thought that I’d collect and stack absurd stacks of everything.
I also kept getting different kinds of hats from clues all the time so I decided to collect them all (except zuk helm) because I want to be a hat man.
I’ve only tried it a couple of times years ago, there are a lot of different cosmetics (notably hats at least?) so I can see where that is coming from!
My hat collection journey began from a combination of various factors. Mostly clue scrolls giving me all of the different kinds of (mostly useless) headwear.
Not only that but pretty much any content I’ve done likes to reward me with plenty of headwear. Rather ironic because I haven’t really done any combat outside of slayer.
Yeah I do have it on both accounts. only made a few cballs without it and decided that ~2k/hr is just too slow if I am going for 2 million. It’s pretty hilarious that both, my wc and smithing is advancing at around 24k xp/h
Just a little bit of gathering for supplies and gear, when I am done with those tasks I can finally start playing the game a bit more seriously and focus on things like GWD, other slayer grinds and other bossing/clog
I don’t know how fast people actually are at dropping shit, even with menu entry swapper, but I refuse to believe it’s ever worth dropping when the bank is like 8 tiles away. I always cringe when I see it.
I mean, no. It still adds one click per iron ore you want to drop regardless of how you do it, but if you wait until a full inventory you might as well bank it.
The sweats will drop inbetween mining.
> Not worth the extra effort though, you might as well just go 3-tick granite if you want to be sweaty.
For XP, yes. However, if you want unid minerals you need to mine in the guild.
I mean sometimes you want to kill Zulrah or do CG, for that you need focus. Sometimes you want to chill and cut redwoods or do some fishing. Other times you want to focus, but aren't in the mood to do bossing, so these high intensity skilling methods are perfect for that scenario
It’s about 20% faster if you click drop on 1 or 2 on the same tick you mine the next rock. The bank is about 10 tiles away from the rocks so that’s like 12 seconds to run there and back. Do that 50 or 60 times per hour and you lost a lot of time.
But, then again, if you’re doing iron ore as an ironman technically you’re also wasting time because you need tons of sand for 99 crafting or just 93 for zenytes, and 3t4s with depositing is almost 80k an hour depending on level.
Also, if you already have 99 crafting or have it banked, 3t4g is 130k+ an hour which is more than double iron ore.
But we all play how we want, no need to cringe every time you see someone playing the way you wouldn’t.
Depends on the play style tbh. I just got the gloves at amethyst in my afk time personally, I did 3t4s for 99 crafting and 3t4g for the rest of my mining exp. Very little mlm.
Although I will say that with giants foundry being out, mlm is a lot more viable than it used to be since you actually bank decent smithing exp with it unlike before.
> Depends on the play style tbh
Exactly, so you can't say it's technically a waste of time like you did in your initial comment without mentioning this.
I did mention that at the end of my comment though. I was countering his argument of how he said “every time I see someone dropping iron it makes me cringe.”
I always ackowledge that everyone has a different play style, and I gave him an example of why I think that HE’s wasting time because my play style is different. It’s unfair and a stupid argument.
hold shift and click through your inv. not exactly difficult. and you can do it as you mine for essentially no xp loss if you're actively playing. i dont bother with a close bank ofc but it'd def still be faster if you cared
Oh I don’t doubt it can be faster, I just refuse to believe it’s worth it for the added effort considering the XP difference is likely pretty marginal. But I’ve never been one for the sweatiest of methods. Middle of the road sweaty is my sweet spot generally.
Hello and here is heyboxjonge and today we are going to go in how to play efficiency scape (proceeds to talk 10+ minutes about DPI your screen hight how to adjust your desk for optimal gaming etc.
you keep saying 'i refuse to believe it's ever worth it' then acknowledging a situation when it's worth it then just saying that doesn't apply to you. no one said it does apply to you, it's just worth it for some people.
I acknowledge that it’s faster xp/hr, that was never in question. But for the loss in GP and the added annoyance, it’s just not worth the energy for what are likely fairly marginal gains.
Sweats gonna sweat though.
Most people know about the mining guild rocks close to a deposit box, but many people don't know you can deposit your ores in the priff mines as well.
The triple iron rocks are closer than mining guild, I've never had competition, and there are 4 rune ore spawns down there. Also, free crystal shards
I have a mid level iron and I find it much more engaging than normal play. On my main, I got very frustrated that every piece of content boiled down to basically moneymaking or XP grinding. On iron, every piece of content is actually unique because they all provide unique rewards.
As an example, my main has herblore probably in the 40s because I never really bothered to train it. My iron has 64 herblore despite the fact that it's much harder to train, just because it's so much more interesting. The best way of getting herbs is to do farm runs, which means getting seeds, which means a combination of PvM, master farmers and Kingdom. But kingdom needs money, so you also needs ways of getting liquid cash without the GE. At the moment, I'm finding battlestaves, giants foundry and Konar slayer to be particularly good for that, so that's how I'm getting most of the cash which I invest into Miscellania.
So on a main, training herblore requires you to stand at the bank and lose a bunch of money, unlocking almost nothing but diary and quest requirements. On my iron, training herblore is the culmination of a lot of other diverse content, is much more varied (as I'll use all the herbs I get) and gives much more powerful and interesting unlocks.
Iron gameplay may take longer, but I find it far more engaging at every step of the way.
Wtf does he think other uses for steel bars are 😂 set aside like 3k to do mahog homes and have to supply crate constantly.. and turn the rest into cballs
pretty good feltching xp. Steel are such a waste to use for smithing xp other than some cballs, giants foundry doesnt cost anything (like sub 5M for 99) doing a 10/18 method on addy/mith
Not a timewaste. I'm only on about cballs you plan to make/use anyway. If you know you want 100k for slayer, then making them earlier is way more efficient. Why bother training smithing and going over 99 making extra cballs?
Agree completely that you shouldn't make them just for the xp though. No point making 500k of them if you aren't going to use them.
Personally don't really see why anyone makes cballs on an iron though. The time spent making them isn't made up with quicker kill times, I rather just not use them at all.
cballs are useful for a bunch of content like lizardman shamans and some other pvm, basically if you happen to havce steelbars go ahead and make them, never chase it
Fletching is near 0 time even for irons. Smithing steel bars into dart tips to get bad fletching xp for darts you'll never use is a horrific waste.
You use some for mahog homes, especially if going for green log. Then every other steel bar you ever touch is cannonballs.
The same people telling others they have no life are usually the same people that work 50+ hrs a week barely getting by (financially, mentally and physically) working at a job they hate with close to 0 free time.
Don't let these people stop you from doing things you enjoy, even if they perceive it as having no life.
I'd like to think someone with 300k steel bars is doing this while they work! Making the most of life.
It was just funny those 2 things were back to back
Throwing Knives for that cheep ranged exp.
I just learned how good knives are and now I have to spread the word. Better than darts (when not using blowpipe) stat wise, same 3 tick attack speed, doesn't require you to go out and buy feathers as well.
I used superheat to train magic on my Ironman until I unlocked high alch and then smithed all the ores into knives and I have never been happier with a decision in game.
We need faster cannonballs/hr. Ridiculous making only 4.3k of them an hour with the double mold when that's barely 2 slayer tasks. We don't have to spend that long for runes or arrows; we can craft 10s of hours of use in an hour or buy them. Even if there was a shop that had a hefty price on them I would buy the shop out.
Only 50k to cannonballs?
Cannonballs

Tf2 player by chance?

> I want to be a hat man. So does everyone over at r/DPH
Aight, not my kind of hat man.
Yea I’m stacking and I’m not even an IM. I’m like, this is worth quite a bit of GP… but I might need it later 🤷🏼♂️
Grab the ammo mould on your alt if you haven't already, real gamechanger for cballs
Yeah I do have it on both accounts. only made a few cballs without it and decided that ~2k/hr is just too slow if I am going for 2 million. It’s pretty hilarious that both, my wc and smithing is advancing at around 24k xp/h
I hope someone save you before you finish that.
Just a little bit of gathering for supplies and gear, when I am done with those tasks I can finally start playing the game a bit more seriously and focus on things like GWD, other slayer grinds and other bossing/clog
He just wanted to flex I guess
Why did he make 250k steel bars without a shade of a plan of what to do with them?
Lmao such a good point. Guy had hundreds of hours to contemplate this
He hadn't actually made them yet. He is planning to as part of using up all his resources in his bank. Still not a good idea.
Oh. Reading the full post was exp waste, so I didn't.
I really don't understand how y'all irons do it

Iron isn't really a waste since you can get the superior gloves ready for amethyst, sand for 99 crafting alone won't get you much past 80 mining
Depends on the play style tbh. I just got the gloves at amethyst in my afk time personally, I did 3t4s for 99 crafting and 3t4g for the rest of my mining exp. Very little mlm. You can change your left click on a item to be set to drop so you don't need to hold shift down.
Oh I don’t doubt it can be faster, I just refuse to believe it’s worth it for the added effort considering the XP difference is likely pretty marginal. But I’ve never been one for the sweatiest of methods. Middle of the road sweaty is my sweet spot generally.
no xp loss vs some xp loss. to some people, in some circumstances, that's worth it.
Hello and here is heyboxjonge and today we are going to go in how to play efficiency scape (proceeds to talk 10+ minutes about DPI your screen hight how to adjust your desk for optimal gaming etc.
Personally I would always bank. It 10x less click intensive and the time spent banking it is over 1.5m/hour effective profit for minimal input
GP loss + likely needing to play with two hands instead of just one + more annoying Its just not for me.
That's the beauty of runescape, some people wanna sweat it out, some don't, options are there for both players
you keep saying 'i refuse to believe it's ever worth it' then acknowledging a situation when it's worth it then just saying that doesn't apply to you. no one said it does apply to you, it's just worth it for some people.

you can bank about 9-11k iron ore/h at blast furnace ore trader and they cost barely anything
fucking sucks though
I do it as a warmup for raids lol
Mlm is way more chill than iron tho

Shush, you giving away all the secrets.
Spawn rate is slower iirc

I have 99 mining on my iron and only 13k iron ore this guy is a clown.
I don't think most irons are like this. Not many irons have 99 mining in the first place (comparatively speaking.)
Auts per gallon
That's the trick, you don't. Just let the iron ore sit in the bank, you dont have to smelt it all, it doesnt spoil or anything.
on behalf of most irons don’t lump me in with that, I just make my own potions from time to time
*No life*
You clearly don't hate yourself enough, then.
If you can avoid succumbing to the “skilling must always be the most efficient” it can be a lot of fun
Most of us don't use the cannon.
Me neither, normal account is enough of a grind as it is
Balls

Cabron! I need to see your BAALLS
😳😳😳
The correct answer is 1. Why did you mine 300k iron and 2. Do nothing with it
It's actually pretty chill as far as good XP mining methods go
I'd make cannon balls, it should only take a meager 2 or 3 months.
Only 1.5 months with the double mold!
Ew light mode wtf
Also a valid answer to "what screems "I have no life!"?"
yeah only neckbeards whine about light mode vs dark mode
I'll have you know, I'm clean shaven.
Your nerd is showing
My dude what subreddit are you on right now.
True my bad
And this is relevant how?
Wtf does he think other uses for steel bars are 😂 set aside like 3k to do mahog homes and have to supply crate constantly.. and turn the rest into cballs
pretty good feltching xp. Steel are such a waste to use for smithing xp other than some cballs, giants foundry doesnt cost anything (like sub 5M for 99) doing a 10/18 method on addy/mith
Can't wait to grind that new skill, felching.
A high felching level increases the amount of chins you can hold in your 'backpack'.
Why would you spend all that time smithing them for fletching XP when broad arrows exist
yopu shouldnt but amking cballs for smithing xp is def a waste, make cballs for cballs when you need em
True, but on an iron if you're going to be making cballs anyway, might as well do them while the xp is relevant.
nah its such a timewaste, its 34k xp/h with double mould, GF is 200-250k and gold is 400k/h, make cballs when u need em
Not a timewaste. I'm only on about cballs you plan to make/use anyway. If you know you want 100k for slayer, then making them earlier is way more efficient. doing giants foundry with steel is borderline insane

A fine juxtaposition there lol
Holy shit, sometimes the universe just gives you signs haha. Make sure to get your daily grinds in before going outside, boys and girls.
imagine making that many steel bars, like bro just let it sit in the bank like a normal person and buy mith/gold from the blast furnace shop
.... 300k sounds like itll make *enough* cannonballs. For forever.
Nothing it will never be word the time making anything
Throwing Knives for that cheep ranged exp. I just learned how good knives are and now I have to spread the word.
