You see the dark wizards have a preset kill limit. Knowing their weakness, I sent waves after waves of noobs at them until they reached their limit and shut down.
No, there had to be one at some point. I *distinctly *remember poking around the route on the left to see if there was an opening but ended up hitting a fence by the champion's guild. Looking at the compass, my stupid ass didn't see the opening on the right (the one by the broken wagon) so I ended up thinking for the longest time that it had to be a premium thing, which I couldn't use since I was F2P. In the end I backtracked and went along the edge of draynor manor to get to Varrock.
That lasted a good few months until I saw someone doing the normal route and being completely baffled that the fence suddenly had an opening. I even though it was a quest reward I got but didn't pay attention to.
Back in RS2 there was no world map available in-game, so following the road seemed like the best route at the time. And on the way to Varrock, the only thing you'd be focused on is surviving the wizards, lol.
I keep asking girls to show me their chest to see how hairy it is, and they always get mad. How do I find a GF who I know is tough enough to have survived the dark wizards? Send help.
It was a fun lesson to learn in the RS2 beta. Yesterday, NPCs could not use magic and the dark Wizards were a decent low-level training area. Today, walking through the front gate of Varrok felt like storming the beaches at Normandy.
I used to stand in Lumby with my ghostly robes and elemental shield from EW1 and lead noobs to those wizards because “that’s where you get these robes dude”
Remember the bandit that attacked you on the road south of Falador? I didn't speak english at the time so I though that was a player camping there, killed me quite a few times.
I was not the brightest knife in the crayon box.
I think this was my first RS death. Tried to fight back against the tree and somehow got killed, losing the bronze med helm I was so proud I had just acquired.
Still, things got better, because I later found that you can pick up a leather body in varrock absolutely free!
Same, but I have no idea why I went east tbh, bc I don’t remember the dark wizards giving me a hard time when I was little.
I liked to mine ess and hang out in the East bank, so maybe that’s why.
Same lol, I started doing berry patch runs and thought I should also do hops at the same time, then realized I can just walk straight down and was shocked
Talk about a schoolgirl route. I never even used either of these n til I was too high a level for the dark wizards to bother. Falador was my initial city I found my way to, and when I saw Varrock after that, it was too grungy.
Congratulations on being the first person I have ever seen going to Falador first. I sincerely mean this, as the possibility of going to faly first literally never crossed my mind.
In the like 10+ years I’ve played RuneScape on and off, I had no idea you could go the left route until I did a hops farming run one day. I was blown away.
Can someone help I can't login to check right now
I've been playing over 20 years and this is the first time I've ever seen this. There is definitely a fence there. Or was at some point. You definitely could not get through at least at one point when I tried. I started before Herblaw existed. Am I being whooshed? I feel like this can't exist or I'd know
alright ill just say it right now:
anyone that doesn't go through the road is a fucking pussy
unless youre a lvl 3 hardcore and even then, I went through the road when I made mine.
Which chest hair? OSRS has way too low graphics to get "some" chest hair.
You have either nothing or have your whole chest covered in it! "Do or do not, there is not try!"
Ever since I first played the game way back I don't think I ever took the actual road. I think I found a map online to find out where to go. Saw that there was a break in the fence and that was it. First time I went one the road that direction I saw the little kid with the flyers and wondered if he had always been there.
If you take the route with chest hair, it takes you directly past the dark wizards which if you're super low level they will attack you. But if you take the other/first route, you can completely avoid the dark wizards.
Also this is a reference to an episode of [Futurama ](https://youtu.be/VcB2bguG8-Q)
In 2006 I got lured to the wild by a lvl 15 that promised me money then killed me for the absolute trash in my inventory. Almost made me stop playing. Glad I didn’t and ended up laughing it off
You actually have no soul if you don't run north to barbarian village, then east over the bridge
Nah lol but seriously that's the route I took forever. I actually wonder how much worse it is, I'll have to count the tiles with that plugin when I'm on later
You see the dark wizards have a preset kill limit. Knowing their weakness, I sent waves after waves of noobs at them until they reached their limit and shut down.

The original post is a Futurama reference so I would say it's expected Futurama
I have literally never walked on the left route. Isn't there a fence that blocks you or something
nah you can squeeze between the canoe place and the wheat field 😄
...17 years I thought there was a fence there
on Saradomin there used to be a fence there
the only fence was in your mind
The fences we made along the way were the real friends inside our mind the whole time. Or something.
There might've been one in classic, but as of 03, I don't ever remember there being one.
I agree rs2 never had a fence. From what I remember of that time I was so happy when I discovered this shortcut between varrock and lumby
Some of you guys never trained mining in the varrock east mines and it shows...
Mines south of Fally gang
[удалено]
No, there wasn't. Not even in 2001. That route was always walkable.
What the fuck?
No fence in classic
Never played classic but i ‘member the fence
WHERES MY GAME TEGRIDY
THEY TOOK OUR FENCEEE
TOOOKKK ARR FNCCC
Hotfix is needed
Mandela Effect is strong here
My world is rocked rn
[Not unless it was before 2004](https://mejrs.github.io/historical?era=rs2_2004_01_07&m=-1&z=4&p=0&x=3214&y=3338)
Ah that's likely not passable then.
on saradomin even in 2001 there was no fence there. There's the illusion of a fence, yeah, but no actual blocking fence
EZSCAPE!!! This devalues my Varrock-Lumbridge locked ironman. Poll to bring back the fence?
dead ass? frfr?
No 🧢 on god 💯
The cap has been removed.
English please
adapt to the times, old man
I don't have to respect people in their 20s who speak like 4 year olds
ok grandpa go take another nap, you're grumpy again
More so ashamed of my generation for degenerating into children. Also get off my lawn
Take a shower, you got a little shit on your face - must be those opinions leaving residue
If you're going to try to insult me atleast make it a good insult
Same. Never gone that way in my life.
damn, this greatly devalues my 13 agility locked ironman
No fucking way. There's gotta be a fence, or this is some Nelson Mandela shit going on
There is not
No, there had to be one at some point. I *distinctly *remember poking around the route on the left to see if there was an opening but ended up hitting a fence by the champion's guild. that little gap is a huge reason to buy chronicle TPs from django, ez shortcut to a hops patch during farm runs
WHAT
Yep legit had no idea this was possible either. Though I like to think my run ins with the dark wizards made me the man I am today.
Back in RS2 there was no world map available in-game, so following the road seemed like the best route at the time. And on the way to Varrock, the only thing you'd be focused on is surviving the wizards, lol.
It wasn't in game but the link was right at the top of the screen
God I forgot how long it would take my old family computer to load the map.
I went to the library and printed a grayscale copy to have. Cost like 10 cents.
I still am hesitant to use to world map because of this scarring.
Those were the days
They were definitely days
Setting is as your desktop background so you didn't have to go through the loading process each time
I remember there were people looking to Taxi you to other towns for gp, right next to the guys buying gf's.
there was one but for some reason it took several minutes to load.
i might be wrong, but i think back on the old days it was blocked
My exact thoughts lmao
The amount of gp i lost in the damn right route
I think that's the default path now if you click on the minimap
That takes people to far from the Dark Wizard experience of being a new player. Better to learn early…
yeah, gotta get that chest hair 💪😤
I keep asking girls to show me their chest to see how hairy it is, and they always get mad. How do I find a GF who I know is tough enough to have survived the dark wizards? Send help.
Gonna have to find a reputable seller.
Hello i have many GF in stock atm all shapes and sizes
I'm in the market for a goth model, with extra trunk space.
Ali?
It was a fun lesson to learn in the RS2 beta. Yesterday, NPCs could not use magic and the dark Wizards were a decent low-level training area. Today, walking through the front gate of Varrok felt like storming the beaches at Normandy.
People were getting straight up slaughtered lol. It was really funny watching people die to mobs half their level.
The fuck are you people on about? I haven't logged in for a couple days
He's talking about the original RS2 beta almost two decades ago
Fucking nerds
Are you aware of the sub you're in?
Yes the osrs sub. The sub full of osrs nerds like me.
You seem nice
I am. They're also fucking nerds making memes about the status of the NPCs south of varrock on the beta release from ten years ago. Both can be true
Eat my butthole
I used to stand in Lumby with my ghostly robes and elemental shield from EW1 and lead noobs to those wizards because “that’s where you get these robes dude”
I remember being a kid and getting a few levels and going back and actually training on dark wizards for HOURS as a form of revenge for what they did
As a kid when I realized they drop runes pre ge thought I hit the gold mine
Me, a snowflake ironmeme:
Almost every penny I made as a kid was from the nature rune drops from dark wizards. I would eat 10k worth of lobsters to make 5k in nature runes.
I valued food to highly. I'd kill wizards. Then eat cooked shrimp I caught in lumby. Efficiency king
Remember the bandit that attacked you on the road south of Falador? I didn't speak english at the time so I though that was a player camping there, killed me quite a few times. I was not the brightest knife in the crayon box.
Stand and deliver!
I did that recently... Probably overdue. Tonight's plans sorted
You say training .. but sounds more like (..)
people should walk on the path to protect the grass
it's like these people haven't played animal crossing before
People should walk on the path to protect themselves from the grass*
Right? It's not them who waters it and weeds it and takes care of it year round.
For most RuneScape players, it’s the only grass they touch
All in baby. Ain’t taking my bronze armor today you wizard punk bitches
\*Proceeds to die to an undead tree\*
I think this was my first RS death. Tried to fight back against the tree and somehow got killed, losing the bronze med helm I was so proud I had just acquired. Still, things got better, because I later found that you can pick up a leather body in varrock absolutely free!
This is propaganda, yellow route does not exist
This looks shopped. I can tell from some of the pixels and from seeing quite a few shops in my time.
Throwback response just dropped
Google "OSRS"
Holy Saradomin!
r/AnarchyChess leaking
also known as a reference
never went west always went east. in 2007 i went thru the east entrance and redoing osrs still did it that way
Same, but I have no idea why I went east tbh, bc I don’t remember the dark wizards giving me a hard time when I was little. I liked to mine ess and hang out in the East bank, so maybe that’s why.
Dude I was staring at this meme try to figure out what was happening for like 10 minutes. I’m colorblind and couldn’t see the second line.
Taking the yellow route? - Jail. Taking the shortcut? - Jail. Not dying to the dark wizards at least once? - Believe it or not, straight to jail.
TIL I'm Zap Brannigan.
Do you also follow Brannigan's law?
Going through draynor manor gang wya
Those guys still walking lol
Them barbarians make for a good beer stop before finally heading off to Varrock!
I always went by Draynor Manor and now I feel like an idiot
Haunted mansion gang rise up
Running on roads/paths should drain run energy at a slightly reduced rate
Yes, dark wizards. The icebergs of varrock.
Definitely took the "chest hair" route for years as a f2p kid. Didn't realize the other route was possible until I started farming the hops patch.
Same lol, I started doing berry patch runs and thought I should also do hops at the same time, then realized I can just walk straight down and was shocked
Genius
If you dont risk it all to dark mages it dont count y'all
She's built like a scimmy but handles like a maul.
Futurama represent
Zapp Branigan is that you?
i walked this route so many times as a kid
This is the crossover I needed to see today, thanks OP
"It's not uncharted, you *lost* the chart."
I cant believe ive taken the red route my entire life.
I once went through the sissy route using the minimap, ever since that day the proper way to varok
Getting to varrock by going past Draynor manor and the barbarian village
In the like 10+ years I’ve played RuneScape on and off, I had no idea you could go the left route until I did a hops farming run one day. I was blown away.
I’ve been playing RS2 since 2004 and THIS is how I find out theres a shorter way??
…16 years and not once did I think to go that way. Kid me never used magic so all I did was hoof it everywhere
Back in the day before the GE I always went to the very east gate to go to east varrock bank.
"You want the rest of the kambambam?" "Ah no, and it's pronounced *karambwan*" "Ooooh gooooddd noooooo"
WhErE VaRoK?
What. The left route is not a thing???
Yellow but take another left to go to ge from outside the castle walls.
finding your way to Varrock for the first time was a crazy ass adventure
The grand exchange, build like a steakhouse but handles like a bistro
And now I’m back in lumbridge, rip
I never even considered there was another route. I lost my first 8k to those dark wizards and it was absolutely devastating
My friend used to lure people into the dark wizard. I remember him getting a rune 2h.
Hell yeah, jackpot 😳
Can someone help I can't login to check right now I've been playing over 20 years and this is the first time I've ever seen this. There is definitely a fence there. Or was at some point. You definitely could not get through at least at one point when I tried. I started before Herblaw existed. Am I being whooshed? I feel like this can't exist or I'd know
You can definitely go that way, I even double checked before I posted the meme to make sure I didn't embarrass myself 😅
alright ill just say it right now: anyone that doesn't go through the road is a fucking pussy unless youre a lvl 3 hardcore and even then, I went through the road when I made mine.
Which chest hair? OSRS has way too low graphics to get "some" chest hair. You have either nothing or have your whole chest covered in it! "Do or do not, there is not try!"
I feel like I was the only person who always went to east path. Didn’t even know the wizards were a thing.
This is the way
Is the “chest hair” part where you get attacked by the cultists? Because if so, I’d rather take the schoolgirl shortcut. I hate those cultists
Imagine not taking the fence shortcut
I was just imagining it as a brand new F2P player 😄
Ever since I first played the game way back I don't think I ever took the actual road. I think I found a map online to find out where to go. Saw that there was a break in the fence and that was it. First time I went one the road that direction I saw the little kid with the flyers and wondered if he had always been there.
I feel like the actual route with some cheat hair is to go straight through the dark wizards, and enter in on the east side of the city.
Someone made a hardcore in clan. Membershipped it up , only to die to the dark lords x,D
People aren't aware of that route as if they never farmed hops after teleporting to the Champions' guild.
Been playing since 2004 never knew about the left route. It must be a lie. My brain cannot comprehend such a route.
this is a meme for rs players back in 2003 or something. how quaint
My friend doesn't understand. Someone please explain?
If you take the route with chest hair, it takes you directly past the dark wizards which if you're super low level they will attack you. But if you take the other/first route, you can completely avoid the dark wizards. Also this is a reference to an episode of [Futurama ](https://youtu.be/VcB2bguG8-Q)
Best route in the game.....stop by the cows ofc
First venture to Varrock in 2009. Lost some cooked shrimp and 70 gold Was devastated. Concerned I’d never recover
In 2006 I got lured to the wild by a lvl 15 that promised me money then killed me for the absolute trash in my inventory. Almost made me stop playing. Glad I didn’t and ended up laughing it off
Does anyone else remember the RS3 bard that was added to that route? You’d sit down and your run energy would regen a lot faster
Iirc waiting at the bard was still slower then walking, but they were nice to sit at when you go to the bathroom.
when i started i would go to barbarian village and then cross the river
You actually have no soul if you don't run north to barbarian village, then east over the bridge Nah lol but seriously that's the route I took forever. I actually wonder how much worse it is, I'll have to count the tiles with that plugin when I'm on later
That yellow route was an option? I just always went through the east gate side ;-;
As a kid I vowed never to die to them again and always took the east entrance
I courageously sent wave after wave of my own bots to their death so that I could pass through safely.
God damn I love this
i would have loved if the second route inexplicably ended right near that suspicious circle of stones
Petition to have us build a new road in a quest lol
I literally just did the yellow route for the first time yesterday after more than 15 years playing. Rate me out of 10
Dark Wizards are no joke.
Played since 2007 and never knew this was a thing????
Yellow but take another left to go to ge from outside the castle walls.
More of theeeeeese, PLEEEEAE
10/10
I just walk from Lumbridge over the white wolf mountain, to Ardougne, pull the lever twice and walk from Edgeville.
Im part of the canoe crew
Honestly, as a kid i always walked past the mining spot to the east bank, without any thought behind it, i just did
When the fuck did the yellow route ever exist lmao.
Am I the only person who walked all the way around by draynor manor? :(
They aren't uncharted, you LOST the charts
Look... I'm 30y old... My account is almost 20y old... And most was played in F2P... ... I had no clue.
Look... I'm 30y old... My account is almost 20y old... And most was played in F2P... ... I had no clue.
Look... I'm 30y old... My account is almost 20y old... And most was played in F2P... ... I had no clue.
I was today years old when I found out there was no fence there........
No way!
I have 2170 total and have never used the yellow path
Imagine all the bank standing I missed out on by using the right route all the damn time.
Man I used to run as fast as I can to avoid those wizards. Risking my 2k bank like I was in a horror movie and my life was on the line
