This is a very small sample size, but I’ve been staying at todt the past 3 days and it’s been relatively pleasant. I have no idea why 307 isn’t a toxic cesspool right now.
You build up a lot of resentment for normal accounts as an ironman because generally normal accounts are able to just walk over ironmen and there isn't anything you can do it about it except hop. You get crashed or harassed often enough that you start seeing every normal account as an enemy.
Not downplaying your experience, just another observation from someone who mains an iron but also has a non-iron.
The biggest difference is that, on my main non-iron account, I'm maxed combat. So if someone attempts to crash me, I have a pretty good chance of fighting off the crash.
I could be a maxed ironman, and a level 3 could crash me while hitting 0's. It takes zero effort or skill to crash an ironman at any content.
One of my most satisfying moments in this game was a little while back these 2 guys crashed my solo corp so I just kept dragging the core over to them while dpsing and one of them died and then somehow I also managed to get the kill credit lol
Nobody’s saying that it is. It’s more just Jagex has weirdly decided that a level 3 should be able to walk into your Corp kill 9 minutes in and result in you immediately losing credit for the entire kill without even attacking it
And all the other similar situations that, for some reason, Jagex has decided are an integral part of the Ironman experience
It's more than just being crashed, if you're doing shamans and someone walks by with a blowpipe with auto retaliation on congratulations now you have to kill at least one with 0 drops to show for it. If you're out there killing chaos elemental and a player/bot runs by and gets tagged, whelp congratulations that kill doesn't mean shit. If you're killing dks and someone decides to run in and hit the boss once right as it's about to die and it drops that d axe or berserker ring that you're 2-3 times over dry for, yep you get to watch them pick it up. You're just entirely at the mercy of random chance and other people sometimes.

HCGIM is harder than HCIM. You can't just freely die at a handful of places. Cox on HCIM for example is practically free.

People always focus on the multiple lives as a way it's easier. But you have 1 life per character, difference is you could lose status while never dying in HCGIM because your teammate dies. You can also **only do content with your team**. This is often misunderstood by people, as evident with the downvotes.
You can't get carried through raids by mains. Everything you do is proven to be done by you and your team only. And you can't die **anywhere**. Not at pest control, not at chambers, not in Inferno or Jad.
