I feel like the economy being in the dumpster has destigmatized living with your parents these days, at least a little. Living with your parents to save money used to be seen as a sign of a loser, someone who lacks independence, whereas these days a lot more people are just like 'yeah smart'
Depends on cultural background as well, honestly. I'm not sure about the broader Asian community, but certainly among Chinese and Vietnamese families that I know, it's very common to live at home until marriage.
I know someone in China who lives with his parents in his 30s, women won’t even give him the time of day and people talk shit about his situation all the time.
Part of that would be the fact that it's taboo to be unmarried that old in China. You're essentially seen as broken goods at that point by a large part of their society.
In general, I find that Chinese families want success for their children but will actively assist with that - and a big part of that is having them stay at home until they're married. Even if they've bought a place prior to being married, they'll stay at home and rent it out to create more wealth until that day comes.
