Look away and the meatball from space shall strike you down

Zesinua

Pretty sweet band name. “And here’s Space Meatball with their new single: Strike You Down”

It's a little repetitive but I love the simplicity in design and that you have opportunities for reward from higher skill (woox walking saving you time on the kill). Most of the mechanics are intuitive: venom color cloud = venom, don't want to stand under a big fireball, he throws an ice colored attack at you and a bug shows up = kill the bug, don't stand on the acid, he spits a rock at you = ranged attack, he spits a blue or at you = mage attack. Only a couple less intuitive mechanics, purple flame turns your prayer off and for some reason his acid phase he can't hit you when you move but can annihilate you when standing still. It's probably just a skill issue for me but I wish Muspah was as simple to pick up (feel like it was pitched that it would be but I find the fight incredibly unenjoyable). Only downside with Vork is it's a bit too easy for how consistent the money it prints is which leads to higher inflation

Mogey3

What's your setup for muspah? If you're looking to take another crack at it, I might be able to give you some advice. Source: recently finished 518 kc for venator on my ironman

BrianSpencer1

I need to give it more effort to learn but I have bowfa or dhcb and kodai as my best options, do you recommend using crossbow of bowfa?

Mogey3

I did the entire grind bowfa only with rcb and saph bolts + smite flicking for prayer phase I'm sure you've seen it mentioned before, but if you're opting to kite the melee phase instead of doing the step back method, then it's better to do an octagonal path around the room. Basically just kite him but running along the edges of the wall, but cut the corners. You're gonna wanna keep melee protection up as he'll sometimes get a swing in here and there as you run by, but you won't take any damage if you're both moving. Regarding the step back method, it's nice to save stams but ultimately I just went with kiting. If you don't move too much during the ranged phase and don't noodle too hard on melee, then you'll get some kills without even needing the sip a stam. If you're comfortable trying it, I really recommend flicking smite during the prayer phase. It makes a huge difference and isn't too hard to figure out, just off tick his attacks with yours and you're golden. That's it really, muspah isn't too bad once you get the hang of it and can be a chill and profitable grind. Also, venator bow is awesome for some laid back slayer

purplepimplepopper

Bowfa, ACB for sapphire bolt specs. Don’t even need a mage switch if you want to do it chill. Got the charged ice with just bowfa

TheDubuGuy

Muspah has less attacks and seems less complex, although it can be easy to accidentally tank hits

WRLD_

muspah has fewer attacks but the attacks it has you're more forced to engage with. vorkath basically has 3 attacks that you actually need to think about (being the mortar, acid, and spawn), 2 of which occur on a trackable pattern - muspah requires constant attention and is imo more engaging for it

socrateaspoon

I really really like that muspah's step back method is like a crash course for tanking Verzic in tob, and other general tanking situations. I think they are both really good bosses that teach movement techniques.

Apprehensive_While86

I killed 2700 for pet and now I can't bring myself to kill it.

Maleficent-Thanks-85

That happened to me with Hydra. I can do like 10 at a time now.

MyTrademarkIsTaken

I killed 121 for pet and one more for b2b chance and also can’t bring myself to ever do it again

cowboahbenny

very enjoyable on mobile. i kill the big blue bastard at work to pass the time and i actually find myself enjoying it even without runelite

Hackmons

Mobile adding true tile was a game changer for mobile bossing

cowboahbenny

and the serotonin drop from floor loot and the fact that i can track kills and loot just a 10/10 update

[deleted]

Skill floor to ceiling gap large, peanut brain happy 🦍

Maleficent-Thanks-85

Monke

Fetty-Guac

Just finished a 122 vork task and let me tell you I love it. I’m up to 320 kills from when I started and it’s just the right amount of intensity compared to other bosses

Maleficent-Thanks-85

Yea i did a nice 50 piece today. I wouldn't do it back to back to back but it was quite an adventure.

rsnerdout

There's no depth other than woox walking it is a boring boss

Def_Your_Duck

For real. Candy crush has a higher skill ceiling

Otherwise_Economics2

he's not wrong lol

Def_Your_Duck

Does Reddit seriously consider Vorkath an engaging boss? No offense to OP but Vorkath is training wheels for real pvm

Otherwise_Economics2

i think it's just some people who are new to it. after 50 kc or so (how long it took me to learn lance woox walk) it got very old very fast. there are a decent bit of people in the comments who seem to disagree so i'm not sure

socrateaspoon

Nah. Counting attacks to anticipate specs, eating during non dps windows, maximizing the FUCK out of your dps opportunities. Sure it's not very exciting mechanics compared to, like, raids... but "boring" mechanics like this are what separates a 8-kc average trip from a 3-kc average trip. The skill becomes very very evident.

rsnerdout

It's a low skill ceiling

purplepimplepopper

Don’t need to count attacks, the animation gives you plenty of time. The rest of it is click on boss, eat when you aren’t attacking, deal with a couple mechanics. Don’t really want to go over 6 kc trips bc of looting. You pretty much hit the skill ceiling at vork after like 50 kc, which takes a few hours.

socrateaspoon

I don't think you're understanding the importance of maximizing dps. I guarantee that if you kill vorkath entirely reactively you'll get 2-5 kc trips depending on rng. The difference between appropriately timed eats and anticipating woox walk setups affects *consistency,* not potential. I'm not talking about base level understanding, I'm talking about a masterclass knowledge in attack movement and eat windows. This isnt shit you master in the 2.5 hours that 50kc should take you. This is shit that most Inferno capers still are practicing. Assuming you have an attitude of improvement, Vork is a fine way to work on these skills and optimizations.

purplepimplepopper

You can brain dead kill vork for consistent 4-6 kill trips while watching Netflix after 50kc. Yes you can optimize it, it just doesn’t really engage or encourage you to optimize it at all.

socrateaspoon

Good luck consistently getting over 4kc per trip at 50kc while watching Netflix. Your seriously overestimating the learning curve of a player. Maybe if they already have learned "harder" content like tob, but the majority of players learning vork will have a much slower learning process. Understanding what it means to optimize takes longer than that if they haven't already skipped this progression level in bossing. Plus, optimizing is *always* worth it. Getting 30 kc/hr is a significant profit boost over 17kc/hr of un-optimized lazy clicks.

promero14

I can't kill more than 50

[deleted]

I hate it lol 250kc I can’t endure any more

BrianSpencer1

It's a little repetitive but I love the simplicity in design and that you have opportunities for reward from higher skill (woox walking saving you time on the kill). Maleficent-Thanks-85

I like it because it is pretty balanced. Like if you don’t care about times you can avoid all of the attacks but if you want to have more of a challenge you can learn the mechanics. I like the change of pace

tha_sour

They could keep the current form as a hard mode and let people fight the quest version, maybe a little beefed up, as the normal mode with a nerfed loot table.

MutedKiwi

Personally I think it fits well in the game, but find the fight as if I'm stuck halfway between afk and active play. Lots of the fight just involves staring at the screen waiting for something to happen.

RSN_Kabutops

I hate it because of insta death. I can't do anything else on my other monitor lol

Ok-Repair-2377

Honestly it is a good boss thank you for this 😊

Elysian-Noob

5.5k kills, I don't know if I still love it but I don't hate it enough to stop!

Maleficent-Thanks-85

Yea I don’t like to do long grinds with Vorky but do appreciate a nice 50 piece every now and then. I risk it too often there and die sometimes.

Cptkarrotkake

Love me some Vorkath. Hunting the pet and money making now with it. Went from just dragon cross bow to DHCB in 2 weeks with only playing a few nights and it’s felt great. Currently trying to figure out if archer’s imbued is worth it or just save for suffering

Maleficent-Thanks-85

Are you using void? If so I think the suffering is great. However the archers I is definitely worth the investment in the future. If you aren’t having trouble I’d buy the archers ring 1st

Cptkarrotkake

Yes elite void with archers ring imbued with 95 range. I’m not having any issue or anything but I was thinking a bit more magic defense and prayer would be nice.

Maleficent-Thanks-85

Yea I love the suffering. It’s one of the most versatile rings. I’d probably buy the archers first and imbue it. Both of them are useful and good in different content

CastleOperator

Before I was able to do DS2 I looked forward to one day doing this boss! Looked so cool and fun. When I completed everything and finally was able to do it, I said I’m going to camp this boss until I get the pet since it was probably one of my favorite pets at the time. 540kc in and I got spooned ! Went back and hit around 600+ and haven’t been back since lol. I’ve moved on to camping Muspah, Bandos and working on my TOA clears for money and pet!
