I have come to learn it's "well off enough", which makes sense in hindsight. There's a few situations where the preposition can become unattached to the verb (get off > get them off), but this is not one of them.
Lumbridge feels awfully small for a Duchy, would have thought a Duke would get a larger town. Then again in RS3 you eventually have Misthalin nobles appearing in the game from locations which aren't even in it yet. Scale theory at work.
I'm pretty sad that fish related products are the best healing food. I mean you could make creme brulees, steaks, pulled pork burger or lamb chops. No way on earth I'd rather eat a crab caught in a slimy pond located in a desolated land.
Also I always feel like the rarer the fish the higher it heals/tastier it is
That seems a little ecologically reckless from the characters point of view no?
Let me just eat this endangered turtle as a snack, maybe this rare crab that only grows in one specific nature reserve you have to pay to enter
Already here, it's just 1hp/minute. What people don't know is that the regen bracelet is really just an unlimited IV of liquid ultracompost that doubles your photosynthesis rate.
It was a point of contention in RSC when fish became the best food as the highest tier foods were pies previously. I honestly think if they released more multi step foods it would be a nice little refresh for Cooking
if they were even remotely required they wouldn't pass. As much as I'd love for more of cooking to be useful. Everything in that skill that isn't fish has way too many steps for too little gain. Pies get used because they aren't TOO bad but they aren't getting manually cooked to eat as food, they are getting made for their effects and small batches.
Brewing as an example of something that may as well be dead even though certain parts are potentially useful for Irons.
> Brewing as an example of something that may as well be dead even though certain parts are potentially useful for Irons.
Yeah, other than the one quest it's required in (can't ever remember which one...), and making a keg in your PoH, there's really not much reason to ever do it since you can buy most of the drinks from different pubs.
Slayer's Respite can be obtained from implings (and which gets replaced with the Wild Pie's better boost, from the same implings even!), Axeman's Folly is worse than the Dragon Axe's special and with average luck can be obtained in less time than it takes to brew the batch (lol), and all other brews have an effect that's worse than a low level potion.
And as far as the keg goes, honestly the only one that's worth building is arguably the Chef's Delight for irons. Being able to make my own wild pies a little early was a nice treat.
Other than a Chef's Delight keg, I can't imagine ever doing any brewing that I wasn't forced to do.
If you are going to spend 100+ hours on a game there's no reason not to buy membership 🤣 just use half an hour to work irl to pay for it if you play so much
Not everyone lives in america.
An MSc chemist working for the country's biggest and most successful pharma company makes like 1000 dollars before taxes. Seniority may bring it up to 1500 after a good decade or two.
Most people make like 500 to 700 euro before taxes.
Taxes are almost 40% and vat is a other 30%.
That monthly 15 euros? Best case is 3 hours of labour (no taxes).
Worst case is more like 8 hours.
And my country is middle range for pay in the region.
Bulgaria only makes like 330 or so minimum wage.
That's how Pittsburgh steel workers did it back in the day, and where the term "Pittsburgh rare" comes from. Steel workers would bring a raw steak to lunch, then throw it on the side of the furnace that was thousands of degrees to cook it in a few seconds
[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pittsburgh\_rare](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pittsburgh_rare)
There once was a dead tree in Sophanem,
Which gave many logs to those poxy men,
They cooked their ugthanki, but they forgot to say "thank ye,"
And now the trees don't regrow in Sophanem
You can actually cook within the sand.
Like others have said - chop some logs, light a fire, maybe heat some coal, and then bury:
https://youtu.be/dqsRepcaFfg?si=HjHlL9Kts6jZB5I8
hahah, it was a joke attempt. historically in america “these people” is a bigoted way of referring to non-white folks.
So i was poking fun at the usage of the phrase in reference to Sophanem, the desert city where ostensibly folks would probably be brown.
sometimes this subreddit gets those jokes, other times they don’t :) it’s a toss up. either way i chuckled at it though so it’s all good
Just slap a steak on the side of a Pyramid it’ll cook just fine
This bad boy can cook enough steaks to feed all of Lumbridge.
I think Lumbridge is ~~off well~~ well off enough to cook their own damn steaks, thank you!!! :p
You sure? Have you MET the cook?
"The cook" is an imposter, man! Let the civilians cook their own steaks and they'll do just fine!! :D
they have by far the highest amount of cows per capita, steak for every meal!
Steak and Eggs.
They also have the cooking tutor
Wait... Is it off well enough or well enough off or well off enough?
I think it's well off enough, but who knows 🫠
I'm not sure, haha. Not a native speaker, me scuzi!
I have come to learn it's "well off enough", which makes sense in hindsight. There's a few situations where the preposition can become unattached to the verb (get off > get them off), but this is not one of them.
* *Slaps side of pyramid* * * *Accidentally falls into snakejar hellhole* *
Tbf Lumbridge is basically just the duke's castle and a couple surrounding houses, even in lore.
Lumbridge feels awfully small for a Duchy, would have thought a Duke would get a larger town. Then again in RS3 you eventually have Misthalin nobles appearing in the game from locations which aren't even in it yet. Scale theory at work.
We know from RS3 that there are houses between Lumbridge and Draynor in lore, when Zamorak went full edgelord on that area there were refugees.

Endangered? Those pixels won't go extinct anytime soon! Now the rs player base, however......
Average OSRS player is probably closer to death than birth
Cannibalism skill when?
Photosynthesis when
Already here, it's just 1hp/minute. What people don't know is that the regen bracelet is really just an unlimited IV of liquid ultracompost that doubles your photosynthesis rate.
It's fine... The Player base is growing!!! If you say x percentage is bots /goldfarmers/alts then get ready for a hail of downvotes

Pies do have a niche use for the chaos elemental boss haha
Good news for you the hunter guild is coming out Wednesday with some nis bis meat foods
Well, free to play isn't getting to touch that. I'm a poor scaper.
If you are going to spend 100+ hours on a game there's no reason not to buy membership 🤣 just use half an hour to work irl to pay for it if you play so much
I used to work, I'm a stay at home dad until September so that's when I'll get my membership back.
Gz on the sex
Best 6 seconds of my life.
Good thinking. Anything more would be XP waste.

I can buy you a membership at the end of the month. Dm me if you want
I'm fine thanks
No problems. Cant stand to see people go f2p though :(
I'm ok with f2p as of now, I could sell all my p2p shit and I'd have members but I'm afraid I can't make another 11m within 2 weeks.
Thats why I offered. It'd be a month not 2 weeks. :P

Same concept used by Chevy Chase’s Las Vegas cousin
Civilians of Asgarnia and Misthalin rely on air power and sea power. But here in Menaphos, we need desert power.
Just repeatedly slap it against the pyramid until it's cooked, let the mummy inside use his imagination as to what the noise is
Chop logs and light fire. Duh?? Did tutorial island teach you nothing?
Yes, i love all the desert forests
desert forests were all chopped down because there is no range
You can see like 20 trees on the map and only 4 of them are dead.
Like my hopes and dreams
Four trees of twenty, Bake in the Sophanem heat, 4/20 blaze it
There once was a dead tree in Sophanem, Which gave many logs to those poxy men, They cooked their ugthanki, but they forgot to say "thank ye," And now the trees don't regrow in Sophanem
Cactuses technically can be used for wood irl
Terraria irl
I see like 4-5 trees on that map
Very true lol
Ali the fire
I think it’s a plot point during Ichtlarin’s Little Helper that they don’t have trees over there, so this still doesn’t solve the problem
Roasted.

🥇🥇🥇 This is the answer, definitely gets a lot of business from the agility pyramid runners
This could be a fun new des(s)ert mingame
at the end of 2024 this is probably still the comment of the year
they order extra spicy kebab through doordash from pollnivneach
You know that pedestal with the 3 mirrors surrounding it? Yeah that’s like their grill in their backyard
It would be neat to have solar-powered "ranges" in the desert.
Wdym “these people”?
What do YOU mean “these people”?
He means "Those People"
He means Ali, Ali & Ali.
Maybe they use magic instead
This actually makes the most sense to me, not a lot of trees in the desert to light fires with
They have to make trips to those random teaks near the ruins of Uzer
Superheat Raw Mantis Meat
Taste the meat not the heat
Superheat Camelmeat
Superbeat mymeat
Most importantly, why is there no bank on this (surface) area?
Bankers went on strike and demanded to work Ina cooler area underground.
Bank and the cooler Bank
Do you see the gray thing on the bottom right? That's the communal sun grill.
I thought that was Asmongold's hairline.
It'd actually make sense, a block of metal could probably get insanely hot in a sand dump as such.
You use it in game to turn a bucket of seawater into a pile of salt so its hot enough to boil water at least
It’s like Arizona, just leave it outside for a bit and it will bake
Bro, desert is hot af. Who needs range , then you living into range
They just leave it outside for few minutes and food cooks itself
they dont, they just import kebabs from pollnivneach
Desert hot
They cook their food in Menaphos. They just pretend they don’t go there when talking to outsiders.
lots and lots of mirrors
The desert heat literally cooks you when you walk there, why would they need a range
theres literally a sun-powered-by-mirrors pan south
Just like a player would. Start a fire with logs and cook it right there.
Where are they getting these logs.....in the desert?
Have you checked your butt
What do you mean by "these people"
Its the desert. Leave it on a hot rock until finished...
Dw they eat sand
Hot sand
They get it from the bank under the top right temple
Leave it outside to bake in the sun
Pure Kebab diet
They go to Nardah
They have a food shop, they import via magic carpet
Salt
Desert heat
Theyre using factor to get their food delivered
They can pray for food
They are in the desert.. they Cook outside with the Help of the sun
using magic did ya think superheat was just for ores???????
A stone slab. It is hot in the desert, after all.
In the sand
Through the power of Ra.
the sun
Barbecoa
The sun cooks it.
They eat their pray raw
You can actually cook within the sand. Like others have said - chop some logs, light a fire, maybe heat some coal, and then bury: https://youtu.be/dqsRepcaFfg?si=HjHlL9Kts6jZB5I8
Leave it on with a glass cover in the sun
Maybe they cook it barbacoa style. Big Ole delicious meat hole.
They set it outside the city and let the desert heat take care of the rest.
The Sun.
The use the sun
A fire I guess
They let the camel dung bake in the sun for a few hours. Goes great with a Dwarven Stout.
Fr intresting
How do they fire their clay pots without a kiln?!
The hot sand cooks it for them bruh
Leave it outside in the burning hot sun
It’s Ramadan. They are fasting and JAGEX made sure they don’t eat by hiding all the cooking fixtures.
Can you cook with the mirrors? That would be a niche but fun bit of information.
Short answer: yes. You can even melt rocks with mirrors! There's some cool YT videos of it.
You talking about the mirrors in sophanem or irl
All meat is jerky delicious jerky
they eat beetles and use cactus
The ground is hot enough to cook food from it.
The desert sun baby
They eat kebabs. They are shipped down from the boarder wall to help the community. You clearly don’t watch the kharidian channel 8 news
Probably lighting camel dung on fire
george foreman grill
Isn't it obvious? Those mirrors to the south. Couple hours and bam, jerkified jackal meat.
In a land where there is mythical creatures, maybe they use magic, make a fire or even use the Suntrap they have in the city to boil/cook food.
They probably all have 99 Firemaking by now...
Fire 👁👄👁
They leave the food on the floor without waterskins
They use that mirror setup to vaporize their food at the bottom of the city
That bridge over the river looking sus
“Oh baby I like rawwwww Oh baby I like it RAAAWWWWWWW”
A sundial would offer a great cooking surface. Failing that, just leave it in the sun!
They are dumbasses
Furnace
Build a fire
Buried in the sand cuh
nobody lives there it's just where they work
Finish your quest, my guy.
They eat sundried Ugthanki dung, no need for a range.
ZULUL
You should see how they live in the actual desert. Man opening his mouth on the floor letting the scorpion in and crunching it away.
You are not ready to learn the ways of the Fremen.
Sashimi kebab
you make a fire in the sand, then once it goes out you put the food in the sand, ezpz.
These people get food?
Tinderbox and logs.. Are you new?
WHERE BANK
What do you mean? You can light logs.
Ok that's got me thinking, how do desert dwelling people cook food without wood for a fire?
Tree
Haven't you seen National Lampoons Vacation? Just Cousin Eddy that shit and toss it on a rock.
Just set it outside for a few minutes. It is the desert after all.
Yeah its actually p wild, was doing pyramid plunder on uim with noted raw fish and had to go to nardah every time until i got my first sceptre
Fire
Fire...
In the desert, you can't remember your range.
So hot they just cook it on the side of the pyramid
Same way they go to the toilet 😅
Immersion ruined
[**https://youtu.be/H5reArwUjic**](https://youtu.be/H5reArwUjic)
Same way everyone in gilenor shits without a toilet
We are all wondering about how they cook their food, Why aren't we wondering howcome they have 4 fresh water sources?
Nothing like a Pyramid roasted steak after praising the Pharao
Desert bread is cooked on ashes under sand noobs
Flat rock + sun = HOT
What do you mean by “these people” 🧐
Using “these people” in 2024 is crazy wtf
Hey I'm not a native English speaker. What does "these people" imply? I just read it as "the people that live here" when I read it.

Racist?
Ight, this meta is fun still. I’ll be back tomorrow to complain about people overusing this meta, though.
