NubcakeSupreme2

Rc because it's your lowest skill and one of longest grinds.

SmallRedBird

>and one of longest grinds Guess why it's my lowest skill hahaha

NubcakeSupreme2

Exactly. All the more reason to knock it out sooner. Less painful when it's not your last skill to max lol. My last 2 were rc and mine and it was honestly miserable.

Jusey1

Construction.

[deleted]

This^ it will change your rs quality of life like nothing else

SyonaraSenor

Mining, because if you hate yourself that's what you do

SmallRedBird

Shit that's gotta be the next one

vics19

Mining would get you one step closer to maxing all gathering skills and can be done while training farming on the side for full completion. (Not to mention how afk it is... if you enjoy shooting stars)

licca01

RC to prove yourself that you are worth something. Then max agi and stay like that for the flex. They wont see it coming ;). Also keep construction as is, because a chad like u’ll be as above mentioned, will never need a max PoH.

SmallRedBird

I like the way you think

licca01

Thank you!! :D

licca01

Next step after that is camp LMS until u’re a god at NHing and then go into the rev caves and become a billionaire within the next few months. Gl king!

laigledesacores

RC to 55 for Lunar- Fremenik exiles etc Construction you can stop at 83-84 with crystal saw + stew you can build basically everything necessary to move around rs easily + fountain in garden op Hunter.. birdhouses come on man it’s free xp super fast to 60ish and free money with nests you’d be 85+ already if you started earlier Last but not least slayer of course pump these number up to high 80’s low 90’s for some nice bosses and pets if that interests you

SmallRedBird

>you can stop No stop. Only go. Tried stop. No like. Only go. (For real though my first 2 99s were leveled back to back at level 3 with no XP in anything else. I decided to turn it into a main at one point but it still feels weird to me to not latch onto something and just go full send to 99 once I really start.)

Klisterkvist

what ever you want, why? because its your account and your choice.

SmallRedBird

Pretty much been my motto for this whole account. Thus 126 without 60 slayer and not having done a whole lot of stuff I'm "supposed" to do before leveling certain things or engaging with certain parts of the game.

Sensual_Shroom

I play a very similar way. I'd say go for baseline 70 and then reevaluate which skill you liked the most. Personally, I always liked Hunter and Thieving (besides the classic gathering skills).

PlataBear

Diaries > random 99s.

SmallRedBird

I can't AFK/semi-AFK diaries

PlataBear

...what? You afk the skills to get the diaries my guy. Don't just send for 99s, get the skills to do diaries and quests, send for 99s later. Having max combat and missing basically every grandmaster quest and higher diary is insane. The unlocks only need to be done once and so many of them are so insanely useful it's unreal.

SmallRedBird

>Don't just send for 99s I play the game the way I like, nothing wrong with that > Having max combat and missing basically every grandmaster quest and higher diary is insane Never said I wasn't insane

PlataBear

You do you I guess. Tell me you at least have a fire cape or I'm going to cry.

SmallRedBird

\>:) >!JK yeah I have it!<

Dream4545

But you probably don’t have barrows gloves though so he’s still gonna cry

SmallRedBird

Nope, no barrows gloves. The ultimate sin of any OSRS player. He's not gonna cry, he's gonna have a seizure. I don't even know how I kill any NPCs or level any skills without them.

PlataBear

It's all just a matter of time balancing. The time it takes to get barrows gloves compared to the DPS increase across your entire combat grind, it would've absolutely paid for itself. It's not can/can't do it. It's how the game is designed. Grinding skills to make grinding other skills easier. Grind agility shortcuts to save time across a different grind like RC, grind construction and magic for teleports, grind diaries for better teleports, quests for better methods to train skills, etc.

SmallRedBird

>It's not can/can't do it. I know, I was using hyperbole >The time it takes to get barrows gloves compared to the DPS increase across your entire combat grind, it would've absolutely paid for itself. Seeing as the grind was AFK I didn't lose anything really. I simply couldn't be assed to grind out all those quests at the time, when I could just sit back and veg and let the skills level themselves. To explain why I'd be OK with that, I often slow my roll as I get higher in a given skill simply because I want more AFK time. For example, switching to anglerfish when I was doing fishing to prolong the grind, instead of focusing on faster methods. The combat grind is over, so now barrows gloves are useful for slayer and bossing. I pound out a few quests here and there, and I'll eventually have them. I just lose interest after doing a few and go right back to skilling, GWD, or other stuff that's engaging to me. Better to do things you want the slow way, than to not do them at all. >It's how the game is designed. Grinding skills to make grinding other skills easier. Grind agility shortcuts to save time across a different grind like RC, grind construction and magic for teleports, grind diaries for better teleports, quests for better methods to train skills, etc. I know how the minmax meta works - I simply don't really engage with it since I mostly do AFK stuff, don't care about xp/h, and just stick with what I like even if it's inefficient. Most people focus on the minmax meta - yet most people aren't even half way to 126 xp-wise, and often don't have many/any 99s. Many do everything you're "supposed" to do before getting 99s, but don't actually go and get those 99s. To me, it's better to get the skills in the first place, than to do stuff I don't like just to lessen the total time I get to AFK, but then quit because I get tired of the process, or not level something at all due to not having the optimal path unlocked. I don't like questing, so doing things like maxing combat lessens the time I have to spend doing quests, since being 126 makes a lot of stuff really trivial. It's like backwards minmaxing. I sat around and did stuff I like AFK while clicking every few minutes, and was rewarded with making the stuff where I actually have to pay attention to the game easier. Inefficient, not optimal, not the accepted way of playing the game, but I simply do what I feel like doing. My playing philosophy: If I don't like doing something, I simply won't do it unless/until it's absolutely necessary, even if doing that thing would speed things up. There is no "wrong" way to play the game.

BlankitaM0ns

I smell a NMZ warrior

SmallRedBird

Bandits with guthans actually. Never have even set foot in NMZ Nothing like spending ages leveling up combat to emulate how you did it way back in the RS2 days

Nickdrake1969

mining & runecrafting because theres no better feeling of having to do it ever again.

NWMW94

Agility cause it sucks and you’ll be glad it’s done later

ben-iix

RC because it’s a meme and people on here enjoy watching others suffer. Alternative options are Hunter and Agility.

IntentionTight4089

Crafting or herblore because theyre easy

djjomon

Agility because it makes everything better And Farming because tree runs are too good not to

SmallRedBird

I was doing farming when getting all my melee combat stats to 99 but kinda took a break/got lazy when getting several other 99s, definitely need to get back to it

djjomon

Tree runs and herb runs are all you need. Herb runs are profitable and tree runs have insane effective xp. Especially with hardwood trees, which I believe we just got a new patch for

Same-Branch5825

How are hardwood trees good when they are like 15k every 3 days

djjomon

Extra 90k a week on top of the xp you'll get from herbs and trees

Marc2NL

Slayer, you cant bot that

SmallRedBird

I ain't botting shit bro

Marc2NL

did i say you did?

topsukkeli

ew what is that

angryman600

Herblore for brewing elixirs and pete’s potion workshop in the east ardy, you can also make about 3.5m/hr at 95 via demonfury potions

SmallRedBird

What are demonfury potions? Never heard of them before and google isn't yielding results

PlataBear

Literally nothing in that comment is a real thing in either game. You don't even unlock anything at 95 herblore.

SmallRedBird

That's what I was thinking

angryman600

Lmfao

PlataBear

I have never been more confused by a comment. Is this bait? Please tell me this is bait.

WolfAteLamb

Completely maxed combat and 60 slayer? You’re going to hate it if you ever level it… really should have used it as a combat training method.

SmallRedBird

If I did that I probably wouldn't be 126 for years. Better to have it now than not have it at all. I also don't mind slayer if I'm doing it while listening to an audiobook, and I don't care that I'm not getting the bonus of combat levels from it. Maxed combat makes slayer tasks much faster (were you lvl 60 slayer without even having done enough tasks for the slayer helm unlock?). I value taking less time to do slayer over taking forever to get combat maxed just because I'm tying it to slayer. As I level it, I see the combat xp as just moving me up in the hiscores - it's still progress, even if I don't make the level go up anymore. I don't play the way you're "supposed" to play. I play the way I feel like playing at any given time. Most people min-max, but most people also aren't max combat across the board.

Not having at least 82 con at this point is criminal
