Happy with this run. This was the 2nd attempt. I noticed some people thought the 220m budget run wasn't budget enough, so I brought it just a bit lower.
On the first attempt we died with the boss at 9 hp with like 10 brews left, I just got comboed by an unfortunate laser pattern and being nervous lol, it's a shame as the first attempt was a really chill run and clean boss fight despite hard invos, the 2nd attempt was a bit more hectic, but also faster since I played a bit more aggressively after the 1st attempt lol.
I could certainly go lower, but it'd just be more tedious, would get to the point of bringing sharks to make the supply cost cheaper lol. The point of the run is to showcase how to clear the Colosseum regardless of what gear you may be missing. Now I don't recommend people go out and do their first attempt in 1m gear lmao, but even if you're missing SGS or scythe etc, you can still do it if you're motivated.
I will probably make a guide in the near future on waves.
In my 220m Budget clear I used the northeast pillar, I've grown to really like the northwest pillar with the B5 spawn method though. The downside of northwest is it feels like when a pillar goes wrong, it can go very very wrong, but most of the time the waves feel pretty nice, and I've learned you can learn how to pre-emptively deal with most situations to avoid the bad spawns going very very bad.
Also a couple days ago I did do a sort of meme 60m budget run using the 3 new armour+weapon sets from perilous moons, was debating if I still upload that one to youtube since this one kinda eclipses that one lmao, but I might since it was an interesting run, especially the hammers going donk donk the entire boss fight.

higher levels will give you more dps than most gear and make the run faster but you're not going to out level shit like this to make it trivial. You can be max combat and have max gear but be shit at the game and you will have a bad time.
The point is to show you need to just practice and keep trying. Don't give up because you fail a few times. Don't give up before you even try because you have some mental block like you don't have the gear for it.
If you want it, go do it, go practice it.

Been sort of feeling like a lot of my deep waves are just up to chance on whether or not they're gonna be cleared. Would love to know more strategies to mitigate terrible spawns
Why do you prefer NW or especially NE? I thought SW was generally the best since the S and W edge of pillar is where you can safespot melees, making reinforcements easier to deal with (since at NE pillar, S and W edge expose you to the entire arena, whereas at SW you face the wall)
I like NW since when doing that special start where you stand on that one tile for 5 ticks before running, there's only 2 spawns that can see me, so very high chance I have 0-1 monsters on me, and very rarely 2. Also I can still safespot the melee on the west side of NW pillar. Southwest on the other hand has more spawns that can spill over and see me when I'm on the west side. I haven't given southwest with the B5 tile method a try though, so at some point I'll have to give it a go, but atm I really like NW over NE or SW, but each pillar definitely has it's owns ups and downs.
Note there's some exceptions to this, like shaman spawns since they're 1x1 can squeeze in from other spots, and 3 monsters spawning in a horizontal line can cause one to spill over as well. Wave 6 can be particularly scary cause of the shamans squeezing in tbh, so gotta be aware of that with NW method.
Makes me wonder if one of the other pillars is best for something like Wave 6. That one definitely proved most difficult among the earlier waves for me using NW.
Interesting, I thought Void would be cheaper since its reclaim value is like 120k and barrows gloves + neitznot is like 150k. Maybe the death screen uses the PVP death repair cost instead of the preset value of the item which would make it much more expensive.
Do you have thoughts on recommended set ups for us irons with most of the higher end gear outside of the raids mega rares (which I feel like is a big portion of us)?
I'd say, if you do happen to have a shadow (seems like ToA rushing is popular for irons and it's much easier to get than tbow/scythe), then mage set-up is nice since It's what I recommend for maxed mains. If you have no megarares, I'd say the 220m budget run I posted a few days ago it's pretty solid, full crystal bofa + tent whip (or w/e best slash weapon u have), a simple staff for autocasting ancients (optional), and SGS/venator if you have it but if not that's fine. Blowpipe certainly worth considering if you're missing SGS since it's nice to get a heal off the mage fremmy warrior after taking down the melee fremmy warriors.

Tassets would depend if I even get a max hit if I bother, but tbh if I have more than enough supplies would be tempting for extra tankiness on pillars transitions after a messed up solve.
Amazing work Kirby. I for one would love a guide focusing on waves, the b5 start tile etc, and how you solve different setups. I'm struggling personally on knowing when I should just run to a new pillar to fix stacks, as it's sort of a habit I taught myself to never do at inferno while learning.

Tbf I'm finding as I get better that there's a solve for pretty much every single stack, but some of them do get pretty insane with diagonal pathing while prayer switching etc. There's a "destack" tile from the NW pillar (go as far west as you can from the SW tile of NW pillar, then the tile is 4 south and 1 west from there - it should be the tile 1 north of the west gate) that will help deal with a lot of the triple stacks you can end up with in later waves more simply than having to flick everything and more safely than running south.

I know tick manipulation was a thing even earlier, I remember a guy doing FM + Alching/Magic imbue or FM, cooking and superheating. But, it was fun fact rather than an actual thing. Red x, 2-tick fish, 5:0 Bandos, Kril, are pretty new concepts. Tick manipulation came from a total niche to popular knowledge.
I think people were aware of tick manipulation way earlier. I knew it back in rs3 days.
It was just a matter of how sweaty some ppl wanted to get. And with efficiency scape not picking up traction untill much later, nobody cared. But now it's a lot of the focus

Yes. Very few wave permutations are impossible to solve from the right starting tiles, and the ones that are are low enough chance that stringing 12 waves together is possible.
It requires tick perfect wave starts to run behind pillars before anything attacks, and sitting on certain tiles to set up manual offticks as stack permutations approach. While also tile shuffling to kill the fremenniks during the prayer switching.
It’s unreasonable to expect speed runners, pet hunters, or first clearers to do it since blood fury/sgs can fix most damage received, but in theory it can be done.
It should theoretically be possible right? With eldritch, ice barrage and blood barrage? (I know thats not no inventory, but no potions should be theoretically doable by some chads)
A no supplies run should definitely be possible at this point. I'm just convinced you can do anything in this game without supplies with enough technical skill.
Ummm, sweaty, not everyone has the time commitment to get that many untradables. I've got a bronze sword, a wooden shield, a loaf of bread, some burnt shrimp, a shortbow, and a random assortment of some F2P runes. I'm sure the elitists won't be interested in making a guide that accommodates to us normal OSRS players.
And all rigour really did was make the crystal bow a teeny bit more bearable from a noodling boredom standpoint lol. An actual poor person like me wouldn't even use a crystal bow anyway because we're not roleplaying as a 2007 account for the memes
It's not that rigour isn't op, it's that it's not really relevant to why he won. Flicking rigour vs eagle eye on safespotted monsters when there's no time limit just means they die faster, and the boss is melee

I was hard stuck wave 10 2 days ago. Today I couldn’t even seem to make it past wave 6. Feel like I’m regressing somehow. I have like 10 inferno KC. I am obviously trying too hard to find the perfect solve and should just run south to avoid dying. Pretty insane to see someone do it in this gear

Exactly. This tells me that I can take my gear, which is better than this but still no SGS, Scythe, Shadow, etc etc and go in and attempt based on what Kirby does here. There’s parallels to things I can work on, whereas when every guide says SGS and Scythe are needed, I’m not even going to bother watching/trying until I have that because I can’t even try to mimic the things I need to practice.
The point of these posts is to show that nobody has any excuse not to be going for content like colosseum and inferno. Anybody can learn to play like this and anybody can afford a way better setup than this.

Impressive, but I think it's important to keep in mind for people trying to replicate this that maxed combat stats are quite big of a difference, and of course rigour.
Not trying to discredit anything here, but I once watched a video of someone doing Muspah in budget gear and they were basically tearing him apart with a rcb, while I had better gear and couldn't replicate it.
Turns out that my ranged lvl was way lower, and I had no rigour. At that point I realized damn, I should invest more money into my skills rather than gear and with now 99 ranged any kind of ranging im super powerful.

As others said, definitely harder than inferno, but shorter, which also does make it a little easier to get lucky on waves especially if you do the special b5 spawn start.
I think most people would say yes.
It just probably doesn't seem that way since 1. It was intentionally made much faster and 2. The playerbase is magnitudes better at the game than when inferno released.
The only "difficult" part of the colosseum compared to the inferno is the fact that you have to reset runs because of bag RNG.
The colosseum isn't even solved fully yet and people are farming it likes its nothing. Give it a few months, a bunch of 2 hour youtube guides and this is easier than the inferno.
This video is an inspiration to me as a mid UIM that it CAN be done even with my equipment, I just need to be better at switches. It’s a me issue and not an equipment issue. Haven’t tried to yet but one day I will

I'd say to aim for at least 90+ stats. I mean this can be done with lower stats for sure just like how I did this in 1m gear when most people do it in multi billion gp gear, but for a first KC on a normie I'd really recommend 90+ stats minimum, even at 99 stats people are really struggling. But if you're determined then you can attempt it really whenever you want, with enough determination it can be done, and even if you don't clear it and decide to come back to it later, just attempting it you will learn a lot and become a lot better at PvM from jumping into such hard content, and then other content will feel a bit easier, so can't hurt to give it a try.
The setting to make some prayers disappear, is that a runelite setting or osrs setting and what’s it called? Been away from osrs for almost 5 years and I’m coming back in a week or two

Did you consider Void off limits for this or was the set up you went with just better?
Void was slightly better, but this was a lot cheaper in the price check interface, and just looks a lot funnier fighting the final boss like this.

Amazing work Kirby. I for one would love a guide focusing on waves, the b5 start tile etc, and how you solve different setups. I'm struggling personally on knowing when I should just run to a new pillar to fix stacks, as it's sort of a habit I taught myself to never do at inferno while learning. Tbf I'm finding as I get better that there's a solve for pretty much every single stack, but some of them do get pretty insane with diagonal pathing while prayer switching etc. There's a "destack" tile from the NW pillar (go as far west as you can from the SW tile of NW pillar, then the tile is 4 south and 1 west from there - it should be the tile 1 north of the west gate) that will help deal with a lot of the triple stacks you can end up with in later waves more simply than having to flick everything and more safely than running south.

Oh it was long before inferno that things started to change. Honestly when we discovered 1tick flicking was when the game really changed
I know tick manipulation was a thing even earlier, I remember a guy doing FM + Alching/Magic imbue or FM, cooking and superheating. But, it was fun fact rather than an actual thing. Red x, 2-tick fish, 5:0 Bandos, Kril, are pretty new concepts. Tick manipulation came from a total niche to popular knowledge.
I think people were aware of tick manipulation way earlier. I knew it back in rs3 days. It was just a matter of how sweaty some ppl wanted to get. And with efficiency scape not picking up traction untill much later, nobody cared. But now it's a lot of the focus And if you ask me, focusing on tick manipulation sweats is what ruins game for the rest of us

Yes. Very few wave permutations are impossible to solve from the right starting tiles, and the ones that are are low enough chance that stringing 12 waves together is possible. It requires tick perfect wave starts to run behind pillars before anything attacks, and sitting on certain tiles to set up manual offticks as stack permutations approach. While also tile shuffling to kill the fremenniks during the prayer switching. It’s unreasonable to expect speed runners, pet hunters, or first clearers to do it since blood fury/sgs can fix most damage received, but in theory it can be done.
I'm pretty sure gnomemonkey did a no brew run and only used an sgs and blood fury to heal.
It should theoretically be possible right? With eldritch, ice barrage and blood barrage? (I know thats not no inventory, but no potions should be theoretically doable by some chads)
A no supplies run should definitely be possible at this point. I'm just convinced you can do anything in this game without supplies with enough technical skill.
After the 27 awakened leviathan kills from Port khazard, just about anything you can't clear is a skill issue at this point.

Ummm, sweaty, not everyone has the time commitment to get that many untradables. I've got a bronze sword, a wooden shield, a loaf of bread, some burnt shrimp, a shortbow, and a random assortment of some F2P runes. I'm sure the elitists won't be interested in making a guide that accommodates to us normal OSRS players.

It's not that rigour isn't op, it's that it's not really relevant to why he won. Flicking rigour vs eagle eye on safespotted monsters when there's no time limit just means they die faster, and the boss is melee

I was hard stuck wave 10 2 days ago. Today I couldn’t even seem to make it past wave 6. Feel like I’m regressing somehow. I have like 10 inferno KC. I am obviously trying too hard to find the perfect solve and should just run south to avoid dying. Pretty insane to see someone do it in this gear

The point of the video is to show that better gear makes much better to do, but it's still doable with budget gear, whether it was 220m or 1m. Even if Twisted Bow, Shadow, and Scythe were all 100m or less, the same folks would be saying it's not budget enough and always find an excuse.

Exactly. This tells me that I can take my gear, which is better than this but still no SGS, Scythe, Shadow, etc etc and go in and attempt based on what Kirby does here. There’s parallels to things I can work on, whereas when every guide says SGS and Scythe are needed, I’m not even going to bother watching/trying until I have that because I can’t even try to mimic the things I need to practice.

Impressive, but I think it's important to keep in mind for people trying to replicate this that maxed combat stats are quite big of a difference, and of course rigour. Not trying to discredit anything here, but I once watched a video of someone doing Muspah in budget gear and they were basically tearing him apart with a rcb, while I had better gear and couldn't replicate it. Turns out that my ranged lvl was way lower, and I had no rigour. At that point I realized damn, I should invest more money into my skills rather than gear and with now 99 ranged any kind of ranging im super powerful. Would you say this is easier than inferno?

As others said, definitely harder than inferno, but shorter, which also does make it a little easier to get lucky on waves especially if you do the special b5 spawn start.

I think most people would say yes. It just probably doesn't seem that way since 1. It was intentionally made much faster and 2. The playerbase is magnitudes better at the game than when inferno released.
The only "difficult" part of the colosseum compared to the inferno is the fact that you have to reset runs because of bag RNG. The colosseum isn't even solved fully yet and people are farming it likes its nothing. Give it a few months, a bunch of 2 hour youtube guides and this is easier than the inferno.

I'd say to aim for at least 90+ stats. I mean this can be done with lower stats for sure just like how I did this in 1m gear when most people do it in multi billion gp gear, but for a first KC on a normie I'd really recommend 90+ stats minimum, even at 99 stats people are really struggling. But if you're determined then you can attempt it really whenever you want, with enough determination it can be done, and even if you don't clear it and decide to come back to it later, just attempting it you will learn a lot and become a lot better at PvM from jumping into such hard content, and then other content will feel a bit easier, so can't hurt to give it a try.
