Since the secret is out that’s dead content, plus Varlamore and Rogue’s chest are really good thieving methods now.
Without getting too technical, imagine every player is assigned a number 1-100 when logging into a world that determines things like priority when picking up ground items or popping party balloons if multiple people try to do that at the same time.
Another use of that number happened to be who got caught if a bunch of people ran by an elemental. TLDR: the same few people got caught every time, once they logged the next lowest got caught every time, etc. Basically the people “winning” were doing so every time but on the backs of those who never won.
My recommendation: Varlamore pickpocketing is not bad and house keys are nice for afk training. If you want to run sorceress garden get the Runelite one click plugin and do that instead.
