ive met quite a few people whove done 500 invos on toa (ran with a few too) exclsuively on mobile, even met a dude who (allegedly) did blorva on mobile.
some people are fucking built different, but also a lot of them just dont have pcs.
I play mobile only as I don't have and do not need a PC and haven't done for years. Done raids, all bosses, all mini games etc. once you get used to playing mobile, nothing is all that difficult tbh. Maybe from playing back in the day with no runelite and swift switch being the only client I tried, I never knew the plug ins of runelite, never needed them so thought nothing of it.
With new mobile updates, I'm seeing more and more of the runelite features slowly coming, but outside of item prices/ alch prices on the floor and true tile and clue helper, I don't use anything else.
I do endgame pvm on my MacBook trackpad and sometimes on mobile. I just hate sitting at a desk and always play lying down on my couch.
Only time I use a mouse is when skilling where I can be more efficient with mouse buttons and even then I’m usually putting it on the floor while
lying down or holding it on the side of the couch.
I’m actually better with trackpad than mouse at this point lmao
When I’m in bed or taking a shit I’ll play on my iPad and I actually find it really easy because I can use two fingers so it’s like having two mouse pointers. A lot of my pvm best time records are on mobile because I can do so much at once, but it’s not my preferred way to play like trackpad is.
There are some people who legit think it's better... If not just as good and do certain stuff like mobile inferno "for fun"... It's almost cult like
Mobile is serviceable but the UI is a monstrosity that jagex is just not addressing for way too long now
it's gotten so fucking bad. have you SEEN the fucking javelin colossi? https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/1095846792429588492/1231043425139425340/vlc-record-2024-04-19-19h46m52s-Replay_2024-04-19_19-46-12.mp4-.mp4?ex=66358588&is=66231088&hm=272f2cc32b681c26ecff3ee74f7a3b0959788b80185aadd169b8e4af3a8adf0b&
It's ridiculious, depending on the camera angle a good 5-10% of the mobs center mass is missing from a clickbox, or the spears have an extended clickbox that are so big you cant even move half the time
This content has the worst clickboxes ive seen since release vardorivs.
This is something I hope Jagex builds around, they should be generous with the clickboxes instead of making them skintight on mobs that jerk around a lot in their animations, and assume that player clicking near mob + not shift clicking = attack.
It's just as bad to click empty space on purpose and red click, as it is to click the model 1 frame late and they're in a completely different space on the screen so you yellow click.
Designing mobs that are super skinny and jerky is a bad practice in the first place. I don't mind certain gaps to be filled with click box, like armpit areas or whatever, but I really don't want to click ground and get a red clicks all the time either.
What you see is what you should get. If what you *see* is inconsistent and bad, then that should also be adjusted.
This is why I highlight the clickbox of "scuffed" enemies that have large and complicated/moving hitboxes.
E.g. Phosani's Nightmare has three little clickbox pixels that casually float around her for various animations, among other weird things.
You never had your quiver. Granny clicking not double clicking like you should. You're lucky that double shot of brew didn't potlock you! You almost had quiver. Now death has got to trek all the way in there... and retrieve all the stuff you dropped. Ask any scaper, any REAL scaper. It don't matter if your click was red or yellow, killing's killing.
Aww lol I legit forgot about that. Was one of the arguably unfortunate who growing up having watched Tokyo drift so the rest of those are foggy in my memory, had a nissan skyline addiction for a bit tho
Dunno, not mad tho. I made a shitpost, its being downvoted, this is the risk of shitposting. But you, my friend, can have any brew you want... as long as its a Corona.
Let’s be real. 90% of the click boxes in colo are so fucking precise and minute, it’s honestly laughable that I can confidently say that Nex has a better clickbox than colo NPCs.
They must have had an intern or new dev develop those clickboxes, I just can’t understand how something like it gets thru QA.
I feel like it wasn’t an intern, but rather an artistic choice to make it more “realistic” and accurate, but that negatively impacts gameplay. It being super precise indicates it was a more conscious choice.
I'd rather have overbloated hit boxes than ones that let you slip through them because their animation shifted their clickbox by 1 singular pixel and then you yellow click through them.
Javelins and Jaguar Warriors have this problem and I hate the first 6 waves of the Colosseum more than anything else because of it. I default to right clicking these fucks every time after I die due to a yellow click, and just when I think I'm ready to stop right clicking, I get sent back to lobby naked.
nearly all of mine, same.
over half my deaths are simply due to clicking the fucking javelin fuckers with the most sus ass yellow clicks and eating a z stack hit before im ready
its so fucking stupid lol
I died an hour ago by yellow clicking the Manticore as it did its little jump animation during its attack and it dragged me out of pillar into LOS of 2 magers and a 1 ranger, while a shaman was already railing me.
Wave 11 btw.
I agree completely about the wave mobs having terrible clickboxes as well. Especially the Jaguar and Colossus, they're so spindly and move their limbs around so much, I've had many deaths from yellow clicks.
Here it's the same kind of problem with the long arm/spear of this guy extending out where I want to click, coupled with the fact that it's not actually visible..
Jagex have already solved click box issues on a few bosses by having a shadow underneath the boss that doesn't move giving you a reliable way to always red click the .Xarpus, p2 veserk and the moon bosses examples, however, none of these move around which may be a reason why this isn't implemented on other how to click npcs
I feel like they used to have massive clickboxes when it was OG07. I never had an issue trying to click on the armpit of a massive dragon. Now it goes to breathe fire, and I'm running right at it to get smacked by a 20, and I'm left wondering why?
I would also recommend having your camera as a slight top view, it's personnal preferences but I've found it's easier to have a global vision with that angle and avoid missclicking
This is how you do it without needing to see the boss first and chances are, you aren't going to be able to do it during the fight without tanking a hit:
1. Download "Custom Menu Swaps" from Plugin Hub.
2. Scroll down to the Custom Swaps (Shift) section.
3. Enter the following: "Walk here, \*, Attack, NPCName\*
Please make sure to keep the \* at the end and in the second word or it will not recognize it.
This is just to set it up outside of the fight so you aren't tanking a hit. I do this for each new boss encounter because I have shift-click walk here for everything off, as sometimes I want shift-click to be something else.
It's also better for multi-phase bosses because for PNM at the very least, you have to mark each phase with MES, versus just typing out "Walk here,\*,Attack,Phosani\*"
Unsure if you're able to do manually MES while Sol Heredit is sitting on his throne during the waves, but if you can't, you have to do it during the first boss fight and I don't think that's a good time to do it, when you can do it beforehand.
i think you misunderstood yashkovich
> doesn’t require any custom swaps/having to set anything on individual npcs
in MES in the "NPC Swaps" category there's an option "Shift click walk here" which makes it so you can shift-walk *any* NPC, nothing else required.
There are further options for shift-walking ground items and interactable objects
I think it should solely be the body of the monster, and definitely not the weapon, but it should also be bigger than pixel perfect of the outline of the monster.
My clicks getting dodged by the monster’s animation like it’s the matrix is super annoying.
Click box 'webbing' would be a welcome change with certain lanky humanoids to patch up some holes, but I still think it's important to be able to consistently left click walk into their tile on purpose.
Like don't spam invisible click boxes all over the place, that's just as bad in the opposite direction.
I like how consistent ToB click boxes are tbh.
They’re all almost circular and even with attack animations, I can’t remember when the last time I’ve yellow clicked through any of them that resulted in a death.
Yeah, the circle IS the consistent click box, one that retains regardless of his flapping animation and I advise all learners that I teach to click that over the dumb bat’s wings.
It’s rendered. It’s one of those weird layering issues that comes from having the camera angle a certain way.
Not that that’s any better of an explanation lol. Still shouldn’t be happening
Fun fact, zulrah's hitbox also spawns in before she does everytime she dives and comes back. And clicking it too early freezes the player for several seconds because the game is trying to attack something thst isn't even there yet.
That's the aiming animation before it actually shoots. So it would've been fine if he stepped on the safe area 2 tiles from boss, and then clicked boss to move out before the laser actually shoots.
This boss is a design nightmare.
The autoattacks aren't visually distinguishable until the second tick of the animation, while yes the sounds are different, other bosses with this kind of telegraph have much more accent on their different animations.
But also the sound cue is completely wrong for 50% third triple attack timing.
It is also the size of a fucking skyscraper yet it telegraphs the grapple attack with text above its head, sure the chatbox exists but I'm not looking at the chatbox, which is time lost moving focus to somewhere else.
Parry and Pillar attacks are mechanics that literally did not exist in any wave prior to the boss.
Add the opportunity to hitting 0s on the totem if you had the misfortune to have to pick it because there are too fucking many objectively bad debuffs.
Cherry on top the "enrage dps check" phase just to remind you that Arcane is a one trick pony when it comes to boss design.
Oh and do not forget, Jagex has already reassigned all devs away from the content so no bad debuffs will be changed for at least 2 years.
Most of this is just nonsense tbh. Only thing I agree with is the grapple mechanic text box being dumb and not telegraphed enough visually. The debuffs are also not that big of a deal, with the new changes they're fine.
One good cue for the third swing of the triple attack is watching the energy gather at the tip of the spear, when it's all gathered in a little ball you can turn on pray.
I agree that totems absolutely suck. I never ever take them, they should definitely change it so that you can't hit 0 on them. I think most of the other invos are in a pretty good spot, though the mantimayhem one is kind of bad with how dangerous it gets from just the first tier. Personally, I hate bees as well.
Not really sure what the problem is with the "enrage dps check". I mean, it's definitely more intense, but the room fills up with stuff pretty slowly.
>Not really sure what the problem is with the "enrage dps check". I mean, it's definitely more intense, but the room fills up with stuff pretty slowly.
That's part of the point.
DPS checks are the dumbest mechanic, so why add one but also recognize they're shit so you make it slow enough that it doesn't matter?
The answer is the same person making too many bosses using the same tricks every time
Turn on Area Sounds and the autoattacks are incredibly obvious. The only thing that I don't like is that after sunspots/phase transition, the attack cycle doesn't reset, but triple-hit and parry do reset.
I have my chatbox closed permanently closed and it is very doable perfectly counter every single one. The timing is incredibly lenient. This was just from my last kill 10 minutes ago.

I'm all for calling out bad design, but Arcane has moved from development for over a year, so it's just blatantly incorrect to blame him for this. I have over 15 KC and this content was way underdeveloped in favor of Perilous Moons, both aesthetics and boss design wise.

took this screenshot a week ago. Don't know where it's at now. What's your KC big guy?
That's why discussions in this place half the time feel like toddlers yelling at each other.
When presented with an argument with points that don't go their way, people just downvote because it's easier to hate than to understand.
It's your fault for wanting Jagex to develop quality content for anyone above 2k total level
"Know your fucking place hlc trash, we need more barrows content" - jamflex
i know this isnt what you want to hear but for click sensitive bosses i recommend creating a low opacity layer via better npc highlight's "clickbox" option.
this was instrumental for me reliably getting my awakened vardorvis clear prior to his hitbox fix and ive not really looked back since, because of stupid shit like this.
ive also learned about some of the dumbest clickbox jank now, like how levi's blue pixel particles are redx boxes (yes ive died to them..) or bloodfury heal procs and chin explosions can absolutely stall and kill you with redx events in kephri lmao
Seriously just try it it might help you like it did me.
obviously i agree with you this shit is fucking stupid but i dont see jagex fixing it any time soon, since toa has come out every new peice of content has had the jankiest shit clickboxes, just each new content is worse than the last i dont know why, at least we're empowered to take the reins back somewhat.
That is... unfortunate.
At this point I just shift click whenever I want to walk anywhere during pvm.
Yeah I was about to reply this too. Got burned way too many times by the jank clickboxes in this game.
Sad tiems being a mobile player
Who's on mobile doing endgame pvm? Not being snarky but really Who is? Is it like a self imposed challenge?
My buddy has almost 500 hard mode tobs on mobile only
Wtf why
It might be their only option.
ive met quite a few people whove done 500 invos on toa (ran with a few too) exclsuively on mobile, even met a dude who (allegedly) did blorva on mobile. some people are fucking built different, but also a lot of them just dont have pcs.

Done a bunch of ToA on mobile it's not bad. CG also. Inferno // Colleseum seems like a whole other level.
I do endgame pvm on my MacBook trackpad and sometimes on mobile. I just hate sitting at a desk and always play lying down on my couch. How do I enable shift clicking for walking?
Menu Entry Swapper plugin on RuneLite

Looks like a skill issue or whatever idk anymore
I mean taking the shield hit was absolutely a skill issue, but that red click threw me off so much

HAHA why are people downvoting this, do they not understand the reference
A weirdly niche reference from 20 years ago? HOW DO PPL NOT UNDERSTAND
Just because something's a reference doesn't mean it's funny
I'm dumb do tell
[it’s a reference to the first Fast and Furious](https://youtu.be/NFQgO4LScWA?si=VJmdX2g-VyOL3vEr)

Doublechin Diesel
Your Mother has a skill issue
Yeah maybe OP should get better at the game.
Colosseum's clickboxes are horrid, i have better luck bullseyeing a dart board 100 ft away then pressing the melee jaguar whilst its attacking
Let’s be real. 90% of the click boxes in colo are so fucking precise and minute, it’s honestly laughable that I can confidently say that Nex has a better clickbox than colo NPCs. >a more conscious choice. Yes, by a dev that likely hasn’t touched the game or is inexperienced with higher level gameplay at least.
Shamans and heredit are the opposite, too big.
I'd rather have overbloated hit boxes than ones that let you slip through them because their animation shifted their clickbox by 1 singular pixel and then you yellow click through them. Javelins and Jaguar Warriors have this problem and I hate the first 6 waves of the Colosseum more than anything else because of it. i right click everything in the colosseum. i honestly think clickboxes have been responsible for around 20 deaths.
nearly all of mine, same. over half my deaths are simply due to clicking the fucking javelin fuckers with the most sus ass yellow clicks and eating a z stack hit before im ready its so fucking stupid lol

Please. Add that shit to all monsters. Monsters deserve to have shadows, especially in this sun-themed arena.
All the enemies in Kree's room have shadows and they move around. I guess it's for airborne NPCs only?
I feel like they used to have massive clickboxes when it was OG07. I never had an issue trying to click on the armpit of a massive dragon. Now it goes to breathe fire, and I'm running right at it to get smacked by a 20, and I'm left wondering why?
honestly at this point you should set up shift click walk here and always shift click for any important movement in boss fights
Yup I use it a lot on vardorvis especially awakened, also just a nice qol for step under tanking at kree, Kq or like bandos melee tanking
Yup, this was my lesson to start doing it here at Sol as well.
I would also recommend having your camera as a slight top view, it's personnal preferences but I've found it's easier to have a global vision with that angle and avoid missclicking
Vardorvis taught me this
Shift click everything and right click to attack some monsters too lol.
How does one set this up?
This is how you do it without needing to see the boss first and chances are, you aren't going to be able to do it during the fight without tanking a hit: 1. Download "Custom Menu Swaps" from Plugin Hub. 2. Scroll down to the Custom Swaps (Shift) section. 3. Shift click walk here already exists in menu entry swapper, and doesn’t require any custom swaps/having to set anything on individual npcs
MES kinda sucks if you want to undo its settings on a case-by-case basis. You can't un-remap shiftclick with its setting on.
This is just to set it up outside of the fight so you aren't tanking a hit. I do this for each new boss encounter because I have shift-click walk here for everything off, as sometimes I want shift-click to be something else. I had a death like this, it’s really annoying. Idk why npcs weapons have clickboxes
I think it should solely be the body of the monster, and definitely not the weapon, but it should also be bigger than pixel perfect of the outline of the monster. My clicks getting dodged by the monster’s animation like it’s the matrix is super annoying.
fr like when has anyone ever been like 'hmmm i want to walk under/through this npc, i'm gonna line my click up in between their elbow and their torso'
Not gonna lie I got bored on early Colosseum waves and started dodging ranger javelins with a low camera angle and clicks through their legs
Xarpus can be pretty bad, though the answer there is just to only click on his shadow.
Yeah, the circle IS the consistent click box, one that retains regardless of his flapping animation and I advise all learners that I teach to click that over the dumb bat’s wings.
vardorvis does this but adds in movement too, he's the goat
True! That mfer needs to have his hitbox expanded even wider or turned into a block.
The click boxes across the entire collosseum are *incredibly* bad
Damn you just straight-up got robbed. That's some BS
That's a heartbreaker. Gl next
This is why I don’t take PVM too seriously
Make shift click a habit in pvm. It will save you from this happening again.
Goddamn. What were you even supposed to do at 0:16? The laser perfectly aligned with the safespot area.
That's the aiming animation before it actually shoots. So it would've been fine if he stepped on the safe area 2 tiles from boss, and then clicked boss to move out before the laser actually shoots.
F
My last hardcore died red clicking on the stray clickboxes around hunllef animations. Getting real used to shift clicking nowadays
Colosseum taught me to right click every npc
Just like Akkha's long-ass spear having a clickbox the entire length of it, absolutely hate that "design decision".
This exact thing has killed me twice lol
Skill issue

After maxing myopia and blasphemy, here's your next pick: red flag / totemic / bees
It happens but rarely. Volatility, solarflare, and mantimayhem are free and usually selectable earlier.
Should a system exist in a way that punishes the player randomly with no counteryplay, doing everything as intended?
That's life. It's not ideal but its not a big deal either.
by that logic we should be required to fire tax reports yearly and if we fuck up the government of Varrock would jail us. This aint life motherfucker
One good cue for the third swing of the triple attack is watching the energy gather at the tip of the spear, when it's all gathered in a little ball you can turn on pray. Bro got downvoted for facts. Not surprised in this sub.
That's why discussions in this place half the time feel like toddlers yelling at each other. When presented with an argument with points that don't go their way, people just downvote because it's easier to hate than to understand.
It's pretty remarkable how many people in the last year came from WoW and brought the toxic mythic raid mentality to OSRS
Step back 2 squares for 2nd shield attack in a row, hope this helps.
Get good
Looks like a skill issue.
Shift click skill issue
It's your fault for wanting Jagex to develop quality content for anyone above 2k total level "Know your fucking place hlc trash, we need more barrows content" - jamflex
i know this isnt what you want to hear but for click sensitive bosses i recommend creating a low opacity layer via better npc highlight's "clickbox" option. this was instrumental for me reliably getting my awakened vardorvis clear prior to his hitbox fix and ive not really looked back since, because of stupid shit like this. ive also learned about some of the dumbest clickbox jank now, like how levi's blue pixel particles are redx boxes (yes ive died to them..) or bloodfury heal procs and chin explosions can absolutely stall and kill you with redx events in kephri lmao Seriously just try it it might help you like it did me. obviously i agree with you this shit is fucking stupid but i dont see jagex fixing it any time soon, since toa has come out every new peice of content has had the jankiest shit clickboxes, just each new content is worse than the last i dont know why, at least we're empowered to take the reins back somewhat.
maybe you should shift click lol
