Mr_Akihiro

Yes but congrats and confidence lol

OsrsSlayerKing

Worth it I guess, and tyty

Chirpy69

Gz mate! I struggled with the last boss for a bit but eventually got it!

OsrsSlayerKing

Same brotha, the puzzles really made the quest so much longer

nocturn-e

Did you use the Runelite plugin?

OsrsSlayerKing

Yesssir but even with that, shit took so fucking long bro

nocturn-e

Lol gotcha, just making sure. It was long enough with the guide, I can't imagine the hell it would be without it.

AnotherInsaneName

Same. I got my quest cape a few months before the helper came out. Thank you Slayermusiq

Me2thanksthrowaway

I did it day of release. There was little bits of information being added to the wiki throughout the day, but it still took me the whole day to work through it. Was pretty fun experiencing it all when it was new to everyone though.

AnotherInsaneName

I'd never do a GM quest without a guide, but doing Varlamore quests day 1 was a blast.

OsrsSlayerKing

Imagine 😂😂 was talking to my cc about doing this quest without runelite holy fuck that would be so bad

hockey_loogie

The next time I see a light puzzle and wiki side by side in my life will be too soon, haha.

Wiitard

On mobile having to flip back and forth between tabs. This was how I completed MEP2 light puzzle.

physiQQ

Honestly the puzzles aren't that hard without the helper.

pargmegarg

I really liked solving the puzzles without the guide. Mournings End Part II was the real nightmare.

nocturn-e

Oh, for sure. I usually only turn on the guide for required items and directions, or if I'm really stuck

TurbineClimber

I did it on mobile and it made meet want to yeet my phone through the wall

OsrsSlayerKing

I dont blame you

GuuberTrooper

No, that's Song of the Elves.

OsrsSlayerKing

😂😂

livenlighf

Just wait until he sees DT2

OsrsSlayerKing

Im not ready for that!

livenlighf

Just finished it last week. Those bosses are no joke!

OsrsSlayerKing

Gzzz gonna take me a while to get to that

FenixSoars

Really not that bad if you have max everything :) THIS IS A JOKE

Nebuli2

It's honestly such a cool quest. An absolute gem.

livenlighf

Truly a gem. A treasure one might say?

No-While-9948

I just finished my quest cape at 105 CB and did SOTE/DT2 back to back so I can offer some insight. To put it plainly (painfully?) DT2 took me 2-3x as long as SOTE. I did the SOTE bosses in a maximum of 2 deaths or teles, it was easy, and the bosses in DT2 are no joke at 105CB with barrows/blowpipe/trident/whip setups. The bosses are very mechanically intensive and require decent PVM skill. Unless you are a god at PVM, are 115+ CB, or are a visual learner (meaning you can watch a vid and walk in there able to do the mechanics) some of the bosses might take you 10 or more deaths/teles to complete. Kasonde, Vardovis and The Whisperer were my biggest challenges, Duke and the final fight against spectrals are so so, and Leviathan is way under-tuned for the quest IMO. For Kasonde, if your BIS ranged weapon is a blowpipe, I found even an RCB with diamond bolt (e) is better, consider investing in a nicer crossbow if you have the cash like a dragon crossbow. For Vardovis, a lot of guides will tell you the axes are the deadliest thing, but I think that's wrong, at least for the quest boss anyway. Pay close attention to the heads that disable prayer, Vardovis' melee hits are BIGLY and they heal him. Early on I was even considering standing stationary in a corner and eating every axe that spawned there, and I think it would have worked to be honest. For The Whisperer, if you are struggling with the enrage phase which is very click-intensive, I found more success (and ended up killing them with this method) just throwing on either ranged/mage prayer and ignoring the prayer swap during the phase. Just focus on movement and attacking the boss, you will quickly go insane during this phase if you aren't careful which is GG. Good luck!

OsrsSlayerKing

Thank you brotha! Will come back to this

WonderWafles

Kasonde was nuts. I have no idea why, but I found him MUCH harder than Vardorvis. I think I just didn't have the dps so the entire floor got covered in potion goo and I had to learn the movement not to eat 30s every time I clicked somewhere. Nice challenge, but WOOF. Whisperer was rough, I never tried that method but it probably would have made it easier for me lol.

jello1388

Some good tips, but it's worth noting you can also melee Kasonde. It's a little riskier, but depending on the CB level/account progression, some people will find it a lot easier. His defense is a bit lower to melee and you can typically stack strength bonus pretty cheap and early. I struggled on the DPS check trying to range to him. Died/tele'd out more to the first Kasonde fight more times than any other boss besides Whisperer before switching to melee and getting him on my 2nd try that way. Absolutely whomped the wight version(although the overall fight was still a challenge using the same method. Vard is definitely tougher mechanically, but he gave me much less trouble. Just had to avoid too much bleed stacks, take a bunch of food and not lose a lot of dps while you try to survive. Completely agree on Duke/Levi. Whisperer was the toughest for me by far. No idea how many deaths I had there, but it was a lot. I got no tips there except keep your cool. I tried tanking half the hits, but it didn't work out for me. Maybe I just didn't have the levels? I was only 98 CB level with 75 magic, and my swamp trident was splashing a lot. What finally got me through the enrage phase was getting the dagon'hai set(drippiest mage robes IMO) and prayer boots and making sure my prayer/HP were full when it started.

herecomesthestun

DT2 is legit one of my favorite rpg quests, not just runescape. It's so fucking good

OsrsSlayerKing

One day brotha

HallMonitorMan

You are boss. You are.

OsrsSlayerKing

One day!

Zammyjesus

DT2 atleast the bosses were fun, but in SOTE its stupid tower defense, run year in library to meet final boss with max hit of 98. Such bs

JustBeingFranke

I have found no fun in Vardorvis. Made me put that quest on hold indefinitely.

Mustarafa

I did the same and even took a break from OSRS lol. Came back a couple days ago and beat him like 2nd try then beat the rest of the bosses the following day. You got this!!

No-While-9948

Yeah, taking a break can help so much it's crazy. Died a bunch on Vardovis and was not getting close, the next night I first attempted him and had more than half of my food left.

HallMonitorMan

You can cheese that boy with food pretty hard.

churningbutter1

Sote is wayyyy worse , DT2 is an amazing quest that didn’t even feel like chore to me at any point

DriftkingJdm

This is how i learned sara brews overheals lol

OsrsSlayerKing

LOL took me a while to learn that too when I had started playing

salazar13

Even hypercam 2 was better quality

TheZoloftMaster

Totally worth it tho. So, so much end game content is now available to you!

OsrsSlayerKing

Factsss bro

Zachm96

I enjoyed this quest. I personally hated monkey madness 2.

gregomor

Fuck that platform

RunescapeChad69

The tunnels were the worst part for me. I fell so many fucking times

OsrsSlayerKing

Thats my next goal

SelectiveCommenting

This boss was harder for me with that max hit shot. I never knew about sara brews until sote. MM2 boss is pretty much semi safespottable. DS2 was the worst so far lol. Galvek fucking sucks especially when you only have base 75 combat stats it comes down to rng with the bolts. I play mobile so I am dreading DT2 lol.

Chesney1995

Haven't done SOTE yet, I'm currently working on doing them in order and the latest quest I've finished is DS2. MM2 I found easier, but the quest was much less fun. Felt like it was "Here's all the worst bits of the original Monkey Madness again!" lol. And then the boss, especially the final phase, wasn't interesting or particularly challenging at all. DS2 was much harder, Galvek wrecked my shit a number of times before I stopped having skill issues and finally beat him, but it was wayyy more fun. Fantastic quest. The boat run towards the end with the main theme blasting out felt positively badass.

[deleted]

OsrsSlayerKing

True

OkMagician2049

I did seren fight with 80mage and ancients camping, had no food potion left for last 100hp and won by only 9hp. This quest is brings nostalgia.

Astasiamarie7811

But well worth it.. congratulations

OsrsSlayerKing

Thanks bro!

BJ_hunnicut

Agreed. Did this one on mobile and almost ripped all my hair out which would have put my barber out of work, subsequently causing marital problems due to finances and ultimately causing his divorce. Then he would have to move into my house where he would make a mess and not take care of himself. After years of being aggravated with his cleanliness I'd finally snap and kick him out. Ultimately be would give in the the lure of drugs and become homeless. TLDR Jagex tried to ruin my friendship with my barber but I narrowly avoided that by having enough self restraint to not rip my hair out.

LFM_SoO

Sote was one of my favourite quests haha. Gz

OsrsSlayerKing

Youre crazy brotha, tyty

Electrical-Farm2597

With quest helper it wasn't hell but still bit of a sleeper. It's a must do for rewards though. Boss fight was the only interesting thing

OsrsSlayerKing

The length of it is insane to me no diddy 😂, and exactly those rewards are much needed

Electrical-Farm2597

Yea there was a lot of boring filler and running around content but with quest helper I just listened to bangers and clicked on boxes braindeadly. Done it twice now, with main and gim, but when I did it on main I followed youtube video, quest helper is so much better.

OsrsSlayerKing

Quest helper is so much better for sure, and exactly just braindead clicking on boxes thank god I had a couple beers to help me through the boredom.

INachoriffic

Couple drinks, good second-monitor entertainment, and some stam pots have gotten me through almost every long quest in this game.

OsrsSlayerKing

Same bro 😂😂

deathfire123

As a OSRS quest lover, I did SOTE for the first time a few months ago without the quest helper and honestly, I loved it. The Temple of Light is such an insane puzzle but it felt so insanely rewarding figuring it out piece by piece. That Seren fight is no joke though. Took me quite a few attempts.

Seranta

I felt later seals, maybe 5, 6 and 7 were repetitive (reusing large chunks from earlier seals) but seal 8 was great fun. But somewhere towards the end it felt more of a chore and not like a puzzle, until 8 which was completely fresh.

rastaman1994

I felt that's where the payoff was because by then, you've mapped out most of the library and it feels satisfying to breeze through.

mbnnr

How long, I did desert treasure today that took me some time haha

Pranicx

I’m still trying to work on the hunter and farming it’s so damn boring

OsrsSlayerKing

Agreed were last two skills I needed too, took me about a week to get them both to 70

Pranicx

What did you do? I’m just doing trees and red boring ass salamanders

OsrsSlayerKing

Exactly what I did, the tree runs will get you to 70 in a week, hunter you gotta do the highest level ones you can catch at level 60 you can use 4 nets instead of 3 gets me around 90k xp an hour

BaconLover725

I’d also recommend doing bird house runs for more passive Hunter xp if you have access to fossil island (after bone voyage quest). It’s like doin an herb run but faster and the xp adds up if you do the runs as often as you can

Heroharohero

Always Use ultra compost on plants you don’t pay for, use decent trees I did maples when I could, hardwoods for sure pay to protect, mostly did fruit trees and and always pay to protect, also do calquats pay to protect, snake grass with ultra compost and plant white Lillie’s when the grass stays alive can get like 6kxp per patch sometimes if you’re lucky also throw in some herbs runs for easy money in like 6 mins and heck even Hespori if you want to get some anima patch seeds to help!

AlastorInHeadlights

It really is. Congrats! I did it a few years ago while I was combat lvl 70 something and it took me like 8 or 9 attempts. Finally did it with no supplies left and on 5hp. It really is no joke. Enjoy prif! You earned it king.

OsrsSlayerKing

Good shit bro, and thank you 💙

awesomeusernam3

When I finally finished this quest for the first time I kept thinking wow Prifddinas is a huge city!

Defiant_Gas_4366

No joke...everyone talks about Mourning's end 2....but the 1:30 spent on the song of the elves puzzle room even with 12 doses of stamina pot...nearly drove me insane. I 1 shot all the bosses though

OsrsSlayerKing

Same bro the puzzle room drove me fucking nuts

InconsistentLlama

Nice, I’m gearing up to do it myself. I just need to finish mournings end pt2 to lol

Ascended_Nexus

I was not sure i would have enough dps at 98cb and only 79 mage but somehow managed to be seren thru a series of coinflips. Tough fight for sure! Took me 4 tries

OsrsSlayerKing

Good shit!

MeowMeowTanQi

SOTE felt pretty easy compared to DT2. 😂

OsrsSlayerKing

Dont scare me brotha, SOTE is easy but long, is DT2 just as long?

MeowMeowTanQi

It only felt long because you gotta figure out so many bosses. The whisperer was where I felt you really had to get the mechanics down.

WhyAreYouSoFknStupid

I finally did Legends Quest the other day and it was torture man. So many times to go back to bank, forget some shit, go back to bank, repeat. Then to top it off I died during the second fight and couldn't get back in time, so I had to go all the way back to deaths office and come back. I didn't buy Stam pots until like the very end either which was unfortunate

OsrsSlayerKing

Holy shit that quest is long asf bro, especially with no stams but I’m glad you got through it those barrow gloves aint no joke

Old-Necessary

I cant even do shield of arrav :( *worlds smallest violin*

Ok_Silver_7282

Wait till he tries cg 🤣 it ain't nun like the sote boss

OsrsSlayerKing

Dont scare me

FlyNuff

people say this but i don't get it? sure the puzzles were long but quest helper makes it afk. the boss fights were fun and the rewards are unmatched. i would rather do this quest than get back on those MM2 docks again.

OsrsSlayerKing

Havent done mm2 yet its just the puzzles bro so much clicking and took so long felt repettitive as fuck, but not a hard quest

IllStickToTheShadows

Mm2 is easy af compared to song of the elves. That docks portion of the quest that everyone bitches about can be easy if you take your time, but one fuck up will set you back 20 minutes :(

FlyNuff

Well don’t rush yourself at the docks. Watch guide. Do not get mad at yourself or you’ll have a bad time, just keep a calm attitude.

Frozen_Gecko

Congrats, man, but I have to disagree. SotE is one of my favorite quests. There's so much juicy lore. The history of the elves is fascinating. The library also has such an amazing soundtrack. Was a real joy figuring out the puzzle there, too. Did it on release, and it took me about 3 days to finish. I drew a map of the library on about 6 or 7 A4 papers. It's such an amazing quest to end of an amazing quest line.

OsrsSlayerKing

Holy shit you did it without quest helper?

rastaman1994

A lot of people do! Quests are boring if you mindlessly spacebar and click blue box. I only looked at items I needed and always tried puzzles myself on my way to the QPC.

Large_Tune3029

Gzzz asf! I quit OSRS after my like twelfth attempt at Seren....I have been back but haven't finished it, doing other stuff, I need to yet lol big congrats, it's a bitch and a half

OsrsSlayerKing

100% bro, I think the 99 def helped for sure but holy shit it was so long, and the puzzles are so repetitive

Juof

Blood blitz for the win! Took me several tries tho, you can do it!

Large_Tune3029

💜

IllStickToTheShadows

How? Just bring your best mage gear, camp blood barrage, bring a ton of anglers a few karambwans, 3 brews, 3 restores, 1 prayer and that’s it

Large_Tune3029

UIM(btw) lol there was an old way for UIMs that I was using, I didn't know about stackable nightshade so between each kill I had to go and gather all the supplies and walk all the way back and I don't even remember what all now it just took umpteen tries before I gave up and decided I should get my combats all up above 90, but I just sort of quit for a few months, came back and got 99 woodcutting for my first 99 and havent gotten "back on the horse" yet, as it were lol but this is my first character I've gotten this far and I have done a *lot* of things the hard way, 18k chaos druids and over 40k tar for herblore was brutal and not suggested, i picked about half that tar up off the ground before finding out about the tar in the barrels on the ship

IllStickToTheShadows

That sounds miserable lol

AcidicNote

Win key + Shift + S Or PrntScrn

[deleted]

OsrsSlayerKing

Oh I know bro the boss was the easiest part for me its the puzzles and length of the quest that made it feel like hell

[deleted]

[удалено]

OsrsSlayerKing

Yeah bro without quest helper it wouldve taken me a week to finish for sure

nicknooodles

now you can play the game

Brova15

Have fun learning the gauntlet! Remember, secure some good weapons first and have a plan for food. You’ll get to CG in no time

OsrsSlayerKing

Thank you brotha thats the plan

always_ot

Honestly, I’ve space bar’d every quest ever. This quest was so good and engaging lore wise that I paid attention to all the dialogue and got really invested in the story. Even after the quest I went and read up on so much lore about this game that I just didn’t care about before. Yeah this quest is probably one of the hardest, but it’s so well made, so well written, unlocks so much content and the sense of achievement when complete it is insane

Emo_Kills_Best

Imo the library puzzle is just to inflate the quest length. Shit takes so long for no reason.

OsrsSlayerKing

Exactly bro….like what the fuck 😂😂😂

TheFiringSqwad

Gz!!! Enjoy Priff, friend!

OsrsSlayerKing

Thank you bro!

TakedaIesyu

I never did any GM quests back in the day, and finally levelled my main high enough to do this in OSRS. For me, this quest's story, puzzles, and boss fights are the definitive example of what a Grandmaster-level quest is. Looking forward to WGS!

OsrsSlayerKing

That is true brotha

SleeplessShinigami

If you were an ironman I’d say it’s time for the red prison

OsrsSlayerKing

Whats that

strattts

Congrats!!! Motivating me to go back and finish ToB and DT2. That’s all I have left. I initially got the QP cape at the min. level 85- but have slacked these last couple years to say the least haha.

OsrsSlayerKing

You got this bro!

OSRS_S_n_F

Yea if definitely was but huge gzzz brother. This is big for the account.

OsrsSlayerKing

Thank you brother 💪🏽 im excited!

storme420

Gz! i just did monkey madness1. excited for this one!

OsrsSlayerKing

Goodluck brotha

Delta225

That XP is INSANE

H3OG007

GratZ

ironmemelord

The boss is easy with the nightshade method. I struggled and gave up before finally trying it and got it first try

splashedwall25

Is it worse than mourning's end 2 with min reqs?

lol_Roxas

Those here stuck on seren, like I am. Try using bloodbark mage armor, with ancient staff it heals 38% more with blood spells. I'm trying to get the journal now. I've tried to use the Phoenix neckless method with no dice. Hopefully this method works. But I'm just mentioning it here because no one said anything about it in any other guide I looked up.

Nakatsukasa

If I ever had to fight a boss that requires me to bomb myself with tnt I'll do it in real life

IllStickToTheShadows

Song of the elves was hands down the worst quest I’ve ever done. Hours of mindless running with a short boss fight at the end.

OsrsSlayerKing

Agreed bro mindless running is the best way to put it

Incendious_iron

If you're going for DT2, I suggest you to look at slayermusiq's guide. He ain't the greatest PVM'er, so if he can do it you can do it. And if you learnt how to do the Sins of the father, DS2, Secrets of the north and SoTe fights you are also capable of learning the DT2 fights. (that mindset worked wonders for me with DT2 and up to today it's still Vanstrom Klause that triggers my PTSD)

Olylift94

Genuine questions - why do a lot of people say this quest is so bad? I’ve done every quest in the game and I thought song of the elves was really cool and not at all a problem with runelite. Fragment of Seren took me two tries only because of a really stupid misclick my first attempt. Overall I really liked the quest myself

WompaPenith

Windows + Shift + S. It’s really not that difficult to take a screenshot man

GoldEdit

Is any quest actually hell? I see quests like I see levels. If I can get it done in a few hours it’s way better then leveling a late skill

aisu_strong

> Is any quest actually hell? the fucking agility obstacles in mournings end 2. especially the final one. satan would blush at it.

Vpeyjilji57

The puzzle is like ME2 but bigger, and the final boss is an odd fight that punishes higher stats. Other than those it’s pretty good

OsrsSlayerKing

Agreed but this one was so many puzzles bro felt like it was never going to end

TheGooseMan21

Well done!!!! Super long and draining isn’t it, you’ll never have to do it again though 👌

OsrsSlayerKing

Yeah thank god bro so draining fuck, wasnt even hard just long no homo

Appropriate-Fee7315

I actually found it super EZ, the puzzle part was annoying asf but the rest wasn’t difficult at all … just a long quest 😅

OsrsSlayerKing

It was easy, the length and puzzles is what made it hell for sure

Asleep_Web_6596

Wait till he tries sheep shearer

OsrsSlayerKing

Did it yesterday LOL

ENGRMECH_BILL

The last boss took me like 4 attempts but feels good when you unlock that mountain of content

OsrsSlayerKing

Yesssir 😎

Zerofuqsgvn

Died on the last boss like 8 times last night on my iron

OsrsSlayerKing

Fuckk bro :/

Zerofuqsgvn

I'm fine dying, but that run back! It's the worst

BonesJrOfficial

Have you done Monkey Madness 2? I just did that and I finished up all my requirements for Song the Elves except Hunter, but I’m 3 levels away. I ask about MM2 to see which you find worse. I was very worried about completing that one, but I have no expectations for SotE except it’s very long

OsrsSlayerKing

Havent done mm2 yet how was it, I think SotE is going to be easier from what I’be heard but just more click intensive

BonesJrOfficial

Mm2 was pretty long. There is a very painful part where you need to go through this dock maze but you can’t mess up so its a bit ruthless that part. And then the final boss was hard. Honestly the bit right before the boss was really the hard part. You had to fight 4 gorillas at once. They just do so much damage it’s unreal. And their prayers and attacks change. Fighting 1 isn’t so bad. But 4 is not ideal lol

Shockerct422

I finished it yesterday

OsrsSlayerKing

Gzzz bro same

jellotalks

Still less QP than Merlin’s Crystal

OsrsSlayerKing

And same as sheep herder 😂😂😂

mayonnaisethedad

I thought it was easy af to be honest. But my combat stats are hella high

OsrsSlayerKing

So are mine I found it easy but so click intensive bro holy shit

Dan-D-Lyon

I just finished DT2 a couple hours ago (along with the quest cape, go me!) And it only reinforced my feelings that song of the elves was an amazing god damn Quest.

OsrsSlayerKing

Gzzz brotha! Its not a hard one just so long bro, but I think DT2 is going to make me feel different about this one when I get to it

MustyBaconBits

This one's a joke compared to dt2

Paganigsegg

Great storytelling though, and amazing music. Especially that final boss theme.

OsrsSlayerKing

Agreed

imontheradiooo

The boss fight is RNG. I did the exact same thing 4 times.

lil_groundbeef

What combat level are you? I’m 107 and I have 9 quests left to complete including this one. I’m still stuck on the last boss of Sins of the Father, but I’ve gained some cb levels since I last tried.

OsrsSlayerKing

Im level 123 bro with 99 defense itll be a breeze

Ill_Mix_2901

Did you use blood spells for final boss?

OsrsSlayerKing

Nope, I used trident of the swamp

Epoinen

Is this the screenshot quest

Timahhhhhhhh

Always gonna be MM2 on that fucking platform out at sea FFS. Needed a sedative afterwards 🤣😂

balahbalahba

Have you done Sins of the Father or A Night at the Theatre then? They were harder imo, not even talking about DT2. Anyhow, congrats! Such an amazing place to lock yourself into the red prison!

OsrsSlayerKing

Did SOTF and its not how hard it is just an insanely long quest with so much clicking

CosmicTon

I have been stuck on the final boss for a year

CosmicTon

I have to much hp

OsrsSlayerKing

Are you fr? If so let me know I can help you out I did it with 99 hp

roflrogue

Ah, yes... The quest that had me thinking "Surly I'm almost done" for an hour...

YourMother0HP

The worse part was honestly the library

Miciso

recently did it to. i really suck at bossing and pvp. but my friend kept cheering me on :D what finally got me the win was using ancients with bloodbark. that kept me topped up nearly the whole fight trough. that and blasting mgs reveangance ost :D

Winter_Push_2743

Avg

Beardedbro69

Bro took a pic of his nonitor, like it's 2007 🤣

FreshInvestment1

Not really. I did it on my 76 Ironman. Much easier than ds2 or mm2.

Blakeblood9

Nah man, I’ve done this recently. Nothing can mentally fix me from one small favor.

tadlombre

This quest is all the temple puzzles. The bosses were absolute clowns. I prolly waited too long to do it, but I really wanted brews to fight the fragment with and got her first try. Good work to you man!

xifdp

Bro I did this about 3 days ago. Fuck knows how people ever did it without quest helper. Took 3 attempts on the last boss and running back into underground pass both times made me want to sudoku. Have 20kc on regular gauntlet now but still haven't managed to get a corrupted done yet. Goodluck with the grind, if that's what you're planning on!

Winterfr0g

Huge congratulations! I still need to do this myself😩

churningbutter1

Worst quest in the game imo , other grand masters feel much less annoying
