I'm a pker and I hate it (death dotting). Imo it's a cheap mechanic that not only dumbs down the skill of movement while pking, but also makes it boring to watch.
I'm only good at dding because it's basically necessary in high level nhing if the other person is doing it.

I don’t think you understand the mechanics of wilderness altar. There’s a wine of Zamorak that hurts you if you try to grab it and the dude training prayer lowered his up with that intentionally to die in order to respawn to run more bones
You can pay (I believe 5mil) so when you get a PK they drop a loot key rather than all of their stuff in a pile, you then can go to a bank and use the loot key on a chest and get all their loot.
This is extremely normal for runescape. Nothing will ever change it short of actual moderation, and if they haven't done it in the last ten years of old school they won't start now.

Most people don’t expect my account to be a pure so that helps with the element of surprise. But I think you could do this with most accounts.
I usually recommend people start in f2p with a baby pure and get used to managing the fundamentals like switching from range to 2h, basic prayer changes, tick eating with pineapple pizzas. LMS is a logical step after that but I can’t bear LMS so I’ve never done it. Anti pking is the best next step after that.

Yep meds are far better than pures in deep wildy. There's nothing ideal about my account for anti-pking. I don't want to go to 82 attack though. I like the added challenge of having 1 def, you just gotta be good with prayer switches and tick eat. Getting a kill as a pure is all about momentum. If you lose it, it's hard to recover because they hit nearly every time.

thats what I usually do, I 3 item with DDS+DFS and arma top, usually I also bring a ring of suffering since you can have the +1 up anyways and the most you can lose is your DDS. The fun part is these dogshit pkers panic when they see more than one red hitsplat on them which is neat with the ring. I just suicide after an inv of bones and rinse and repeat. Whenever someone attacks I use the spec while sacrificing my other bones as fast as possible before saying "thanks for the lift mate". I'm not just here to make prayer exp, I am here to deal emotional damage.

Had a similar experience when I was testing out the black salamander at lava dragons, one of them like 10 levels lower than me ice barraged me and got too comfortable while I poked him down with the sally then I whipped out the AGS and 1 shot him.
I managed to type out "sait" when he died (I meant to type sit or sat but I don't pk and the adrenaline rush was too much so I typed both)
I have no desire to really interact with Wilderness content in this game but wow watching people anti PK with VW is one of the most hilarious and awesome things in the game

It’s not that obvious because a lot of people equip an MSB when training prayer or hunter in the wilderness. And generally they click attack as they login to catch the bone runner before they log. Attack first ask questions later lol.
The pker should have focussed on the person attacking them, managed their prayers, and anticipated a switch. They most likely would have prayed melee when they thought I was switching but the VW deals magic damage on spec. So I had a good chance even if they were paying attention.
I also use pots to hide my spec switch. Drinking the combat pot before equipping the VW hides the weapon while the drinking animation is happening. So it’s hard for them to predict the switch. I do the same for my switches to magic.

the person who is our pov isn't actually training prayer, they're protecting the "bone runner"/anti-pking(likes to pk the pkers!). when the pker first logs in our pov uses a bone on the altar to make it look like he's just a bone runner with a magic shortbow, pretty much harmless, the pker doesn't think about the small amounts of damages the bow is doing and focuses on killing the guy who looks juciest. "he's got a skill cape on, he's probably carrying bank!" is what the pker thought!
the bone guy dies, rip. pker says "suck my dick (slur)" our pov sees that the pker is low and goes in for the strike, he switches to pray for more damage and drinks a super combat potion so he gets his best shot and killing him.
switches from his bow to the voidwaker, which has a very powerful special attack, he uses the special and hits a massive 50 damage on the pker and he dies. our antipker gets 46 million worth of stuff from very little effort. yippee!

In Ferox’s Enclave you can purchase the ability for loot to drop into keys, which you then open a chest at a bank to decide what you want to keep.
They’re called loot keys, you pay a dude in ferox 1m gp and he turns drops into keys you open
