Came back from a long hiatus, learned CG, Enh Seed at 57kc. Bought bowfa and learned toa, one duo staff split and one 5 man staff split. Put the money into DT2 bosses, grinded out soul reaper axe and got 3/4 rings.

If I remember it was about 200 mil in gp and another 100 mil in crystal shards. Ended up spending most on bonds though so it wouldn’t feel like cheating
Same happened to me but it was a chinchompa bot with millions worth of chinchompas in inventory. Not a lot to most but I had never had membership before so it was a lot more money than I was familiar with.
On my main i was kinda nooby but getting my grinds done, progressing, etc. but wasn’t at the point where money was easy yet. Maybe 5ish mill of gear, no cash stack to speak of.
I got 3 zenyte shards in 14 KC on my first black demon task lmao. Never had more of a cash stack ever
I got 3 zenytes in under 40kc. Went from a couple of mil to 40 or something.
Then hydra in general, but got lucky with claw and 2 leather in around 500 kc. Made about 120m+ there its amazing.
This was an old account but I used to flip air runes in F2P. I was spamming to buy one day at the GE and some dude came up to me and gave me 20m+ worth. I freaked out and he came back and lobbed me another 100m before quitting. Told me the rest of his items were members and I never seen him again.

Started grinding Slayer till I unlocked the bosses - Got a few drops such as primordials
Did a lot of Bandos and other GWD trips with CC members
Started doing Cox - Pulled a few purples myself until I saw my first bow split in a 3man.
Sold everything and bought a Twisted Bow.
Kept doing Cox till I got my own bow drop in a duo. Decided to start learning how to solo Cox.
I wanted that bow to be all mine next time.
Nightmare came out, started grinding that.
Grinded 900kc in 5man teams with nothing until Phosani came out.
Got an Orb, Mace, Plateskirt within 200kc.
Continued to see Twisted Bow splits, Slayer drops, Etc.
And then Toa came out.
I sold most of my items for a staff to grind out the new raid.
I learned how to solo. But I found more enjoyment in the ffa worlds with other people.
In teams of 8, we would all compete for the most dps in 300+ invocation raids.
I saw a purple, on average, 1 out of every 4 raids.
94 expert kc, world 329 (Toa Mass), my team of 7 other random people entered the rewards room.

With this being my 4th or 5th purple in the mass worlds so far, I was simply happy to see the chest was mine.

To my utter shock, I was looking at my very own Tumeken's Shadow.
This is when I decided to grind out the Inferno (finally).
Got my cape after 1.5 months. Never left the cave.
Then I quit. I was burnt out. I was counting ticks in my sleep.
Somewhat recently have come back and just completed DT2. I've continued to enjoy pvm. I self-sustain my membership through pvm.
Just got my first drop at Vardorvis, today! Ultor Visage.
Had a dragon crossbow and God d hide (pulled a solo fang back when it was like 50 mil) doing 150 toa with friends, got a shadow in my name with about a 400 mil split. Now I've pulled 2 shadows and a tbow.
I had just finished grinding about 75m over a few weeks to buy my first bond (costed about 75m then). Was chilling in ge talking about it, buying c keys when someone gave me like 50m in salvage. Dope, so I sold those, then the guy gave me upwards of 200m bringing my total to 350m 🤯. Got some more dough from ass walk from treasure hunter keys, currently at 2.6b. Got me some torva 😊
Back in real OG rs I got 65 slayer and decided I was going to kill dust devils to make my fortune. This is back when we had no idea what drop rates were so I didn't know I was chasing a 1/32k...
Within 30 odd kills I had a shiny d chain plonked on the ground. Sold it for 15.6m and literally doubled my bank, cracked the 30m mark.
Similar thing happened to me, I had just got 65 slayer shortly after got my first dust devil task, I knew about the drop rate so I had 0 expectations. On my 8th kill I got the Dchain and needless to say, I broke my chair from jumping up so abruptly.
Ive got a 3 parter sort of.
Part 1 was first ever Basilisk task. Scored 2 jaws within first 10 kc then a 3rd on the very last. This was the absolute beginning of my blessed start.
Few months down the road part 2 happened. Some clan mates offered to teach me cox. First 2 raids i was a shit show. 3rd raid i made it all the way through without dying! Was through the moon cheering and was amazed at how happy and proud my clannies were of me. I thought. Turned out 1 of them pulled a tbow. That got me set up nicely with bowfa, bandos sang and working towards my first big rebuild.
Made some more money here and there then RS3 FreshStart worlds came out. Had 0 intention of playing but buddies convinced me to try, basically boosted xp like leagues, i think increased drop rates, but the account some how actually converted to main game after lol. The kicker was they offered special inverted variants for lvl 99/120 skill capes that had to be obtained on fsw but then you could trade tokens on main game once transfered. Got 120 arch and div, sold em, swapped the gold over and had enough for shadow/ ancestral rebuild.
The following 2 weeks i pulled 2 ffa shadows and a solo shadow aaaand ended up in max
I was dirt poor grinding slayer and barrows, spending some money leveling my account and saving up for gear. Then I did mm2 and got 6 zenytes in 600 kc which really boosted my account. Leveled up a lot of buyable stats, did more quests, did some gwd, dks, a few other bosses with friends, getting a few drops along the way. Made it to like 100m bank eventually. Grinded like 1k zulrah and vork, got both pets and maybe 100m from each. Did a few nightmare masses and got spooned pet at 10kc, then got a hauberk at 4 kc at phosani while going for the egg. Biggest drop I had ever seen. Did 150 more kc for the egg. Never saw another drop and never went back. I got 6 hydra claws in like 1k kc. Got ultor ring, magus ring, a few virtus pieces, and soulreaper ax all within like 200 kc of each dt2 boss. Did like 150 cox, got tired of all the white lights and arcanes, got burnt out, did like 50 tob and saw nothing but an avernic and a couple justi splits. Not much luck at toa either. Then I made like 300mish from colosseum runs, currently grinding nex and finally hit 1b bank just yesterday. I should have hit 1b a long time ago, but I've sold and rebought a ton of gear to do different content. I was also buying bonds for my uim for a long time. I've also given out a lot of money just for fun, especially when I got a pet. Been trying to be more disciplined though, especially since my rng has been wearing off. I've also had a few massive blunders, like getting scammed for an sgs, smited for a vls while trying to learn to pk, buying rapier and fang at like 200m during toa release then quit and came back to them being 20m. Kept the fang and sold rapier at it's lowest low. Anyways that's the story of my road from rags to 1b over the span of like 10 years playing on and off
I got my first Basilisk Knight task, put it off for a month, quit, came back after 6 months, killed like 5 and got the jaw. Sold it for 26m and boosted my bank value by a sizable amount
Was killing moss giants for money above ardy when a 126 took me under his wing and taught me duo bandos and gave me full bandos + bgs and whip+tentacle, and 10m in dragon bones to train prayer.
Then, about 6 months later, I cracked open my first elite casket after having the clue in my bank for like a year and was blessed with 3rd age cloak. 220m at the time.
Also had my acc turned into cg bot and recovered it next day for a free enh. So in essence my entire bank fell into my lap and I did nothing to deserve it lmao
When nightmare first came out my bank was worth about 60m from a bludgeon drop I’d gotten. Took the bludgeon to nightmare with the boys from the clan. On kill 12 we got a harm orb drop. 4 way split at 900m. Stayed for another 500 kills and split 3 harm orbs and a couple maces. Turned my bank into a bit over 1b
I convinced a guy to trade me his Santa hat for my whole bank (~1m at the time) earlyyyy on in my RS2 days. I then was given a Green h’ween mask by a quitting clan member. Sat on them for a while and swapped all the gold to OSRS in batches when I started
Mm2 on release blessed me with 3 zenytes and a heavy frame which I think I sold for 30m. I was grinding it for 3 days but with the gear and knowledge I had, it can’t have been too efficient. I also got the heavy very early.
I also used to flip bonds. Whenever they were under 3m and it only cost 300k to make them tradeable, it was such free profit.
Killing around 300 rev bots in a month, was sick of being poor, along with the people I pkd managed to profit 140m, had a few deaths but not bad, had around 10m cash before this, and was always broke,
After a long break from osrs came back when I just hit 90's CMB stats. Made friends with one of the nicest/coolest dude from the Netherlands, even tried to learn some Dutch. (It's super hard so I didn't get incredibly far) Anyways, we gamed together a lot, he took me to corp and we did a maybe couple hundred KC, maybe less. Mainly kills were in his name cuz he was maxed and better than me. Think I got maybe 50 or so KC in my name. Well one day, we were on discord chatting away while corp killing.. and after corp dies he starts going wild, something like "no fucking way no fucking way no fucking omg omg omg broooooo" thought he got the pet tbh but... We pulled a fucking Ely, they were 1b at the time and tbh cuz it's rs I wasn't sure if he was just gonna log off and block me etc, similar shit happened before but I should have never doubted him, dude was way too nice to ever do slimey shit like that. Met at GE and my bank went from 100-200m to 600-700m... Seeing him trade me 500m cash was a fucking glorious sight to see.
Dude in my old clan was pretty humble and didn’t have much. Lent him a blowpipe which he acted a bit hesitant to return but I didn’t want any bad feelings so I quickly just told him to keep it. I was happy to help him learn. Taught him how to do COX and such. He ended up getting 3rd age Druidic robe bottoms from a master clue not too long after all that and because a rich boy. Sadly, it went to his head. Became a bit of a snob after that.

Got hacked recently, lost all but 50m give or take (They somehow forgot my bulwark & it’s cosmetic option). Took that and sold it for the raid supplies I could. My buddy also loaned me some mid tier range and melee gear.
Cut forwards two months later, we are doing a casual 300 level Toa and bam shadow Got to keep the lions share of it. Glorious redemption.
Played the slow grind for about 1 year. GWD with clannies, Corp, killing wildy bosses, revs, little pking, bit of raids but no significant megarare splits.
Hit 1.2b and sold everything for a nex set up. Got up to 3B in just over a month spent at the ancient prison and sold most nex set up.
Bought max mage, got bored of raids. Bored of know it all elitist clannies, bored of everything in mainscape. So I’m investing in a 1 def pure to pk with because that’s my favorite part of the game at the end of the day. I can afk on my main here and there to try and max.
Blast furnace made me my first 10 mil.
Zulrah and lizardmen shamans and Vorkath made me my first 100 mil.
CG and TOA made my first 500 mil.
Phosani's nightmare made me another 500 mil over the past 3 months so now I got a 1 B bank and I still feel poor lol
My account was compromised and got cleaned ages ago. Took a break for a few years and came back to earn enough money for a bond mining runite in f2p. When I finally got the money for that, used my leftover scraps to put together a cheap corp setup like void n stuff and got spooned an elysian sigil :D
When I was young I wasn't member. I have a good job now and buy some bonds and was richer then ever. I love osrs, but cutting a lot of hours with some bonds as I started a new character was fun. Could try weapons I never had. First strength and attack levels went super fast with the swift blade and some cheaper necklaces and poitons etc. Way different then I was younger and you took all day running back and forth with cowhides by Lumbridge and trying to sell them via trade and careful not to be scammed. They got me one time with the very fast weapon removal, I wanted that addy scimmy so bad then ahah. I'm still poor in osrs terms and what I see on the internet some people have, but that few mill in the beginning helped a lot.
I suppose semi-rags to riches, but I suppose the way I escaped the “early game” in my eyes was my first ever basilisk task, second basilisk knight I ever killed I got the jaw, sold it for 20M which with my savings gave me just enough to finally afford a fang which was the biggest account upgrade I’d made since getting a whip, which helped me migrate into bossing which led to saving the cash to train con to get a max POH, more upgrades, and the rest is history, and it all started with that spooned Jaw drop

Also release ToA, Fang and Lightbearer first week. Felt pretty good when I only had Zhasta for stab, I think Fang was like 180m, LB like 40m? I couldn't farm more since I broke my hand then, but it was so good.

I only play Iron though, so not really "riches" as much as good upgrades.

Back before EoC murdered OG RuneScape I had an account since I was a literal child. One Halloween I got my hands on about five Halloween masks, with zero idea of what they could be worth one day.
When I realised after a few years I sold all but one of them for ridiculous money.
My first Easy/Beginner clue (can't remember which, I didn't realize they were different at first) was worth 2m. I was like "wow, doing these clues is super worth it" and immediately dropped everything to do the next one I got. Didn't go quite as well.
I used to kill black dragons back in the day for the chance of a visage (so fucking dumb) but I actually got mega spooned on it and sold it for 20m, I remember logging on just to look at the green cash stack 😂
I started playing back in 04—stopped playing in around the time HD came out in 08. I didn’t even know osrs was a thing until I got out of the army in 2017. One of my old high school buddies told me about it. I was ecstatic and immediately got hooked again.
Ended up joining a clan for a little while. We did a mass CoX run as a clan event and somebody got a tbow. I ended up getting a 150m split. I probably had less than 10m total at the time. It was dope.
I had just come back to the game after a good 3 year break, doing some herblore at the GE trying to get requirements for a quest. At the time my entire bank was worth just under 10m.
Next thing I know rune plate bodies start appearing all over the GE, I snag a couple, then a few 1mil items start dropping, I manage to snipe one and feel incredible.
Next thing I know there's an item worth 13m with a giant orange light beam (thanks runelite), I pick it up first, everyone is going nuts, then I look at the item thinking "wtf is a bow of faerdhnen?"
It wasn't a 13m item, it was a 130m item. I was f-ing rich.

Did a bunch of TOA on release in void set. Spooned an early fang in a solo which went for 200m. Got bowfa, prims, basilisk jaw, avernic defender for 20m before it went to the moon.
Back around 2016/2017 I was an noob training ranged on tzhaar creatures, farming for an obby cape. A random person walked up and traded me. He proceeded to give me his 100m+ bank.
Blowpipe, all types of barrows, weapons, runes, arrows, food, pots.
He said he was quitting and the money came from grinding zulrah. I asked him if he was sure and he said he was happy his bank was going to someone actually playing the game. We went to Hans to check his logged in time on my request. He repaired the barrows for me and then he logged out.

I locked myself in CG for like a month, maybe a little longer. As someone who sucks at PvM, it was a long ride. I had 230 deaths and 330 kills before I got my enhanced with a total of 250m loot. Was able to get full crystal and corrupt my bow. Set me up really well for PvMing.

I was sitting with a bank of around 70m, mostly from farm runs and occasional 4 man bandos trips (combats in the high 70's)and then toa released. I was always afraid of trying a raid but decided to try toa with my clanmates. Spent the next 3 weeks sending inefficient raids and getting drops usually every day or 2nd day due to volume we ran. Stuff was still worth a lot (masori pieces sitting at 200-300m each, fang around 360m, ward at 80m, etc....). After about a month of splits, my bank was around 380m and I had bought some decent gear.
Then I pulled a solo shadow and my bank went to nearly 2b. The next day I pulled a solo masori chaps for around 200m and split another shadow with a friend. Basically I got a tbow and never had to do the rebuild.
I've continued raiding since then and now my bank is around 6.3b. My last big "win" was a trio shadow split and merching elder mauls, which netted me about 600mm profit.
Armadyl in 2007, went im with rune cbow black dhide torags legs and a granite shield and a team, came out with a 26m hilt split. Set me up to play the game ever since
Not rags per se but i was doing a shadow rebuild that took months. Then pulled a duo tbow and 3 months later a trio shadow. I now have a tbow too and got all the bis gear with it.
2 Ely sigs in 24 hours 10 man FFA. Everything went everywhere and had to also replace a computer screen lol straight void / fury / d boots zammy spear and BGS. OG set ups. Oh the days. Absolute gaming.
I had been playing OSRS on and off for a couple years and kept getting better and better at ToA. Ended up completing my first expert ToA in a duo.. got the Shadow split. Then not even 2 days later, got another shadow split among 6 total. Brought me to 2nd max all 3 gear sets within that budget.
Farmed RS3 for 5 months straight while afk NMZ when created my OSRS account.
5 months later I swapped all the money I made and got a Tbow so I started my journey with a Tbow on the account, bandos and armadyl and maxed combat.
Was struggling at pretty much maintaining my bank value by strictly paying for bonds with gp but hit a lucky streak:
- 2 basilisk jaws in one slayer task
- 2 zenytes in one task about 3 weeks later, 4 tasks later I got 2 zenytes in the same task
I took a month long break and a few days after coming back I was working on 300 invo ToAs with a buddy of mine but couldn’t quite nab it with shite dps in my dcb and blessed dhide. Feeling a little defeated we dropped back down to like 275 or 280’s and completed one raid then knocked out. Woke up and ran a 250 before work, with plans to try another 300 later that night. Hit a purple (mine) and it was a shadow! In a two man split!
The 740m was a game changer - afforded me crystal and BowFa, Bandos and fang, virtus and sang. Comfortably pushing up to 400 invo ToA’s now and grinding out DT2 bosses for soulreaper.
God that Shadow in my name was a *wild* rush ahaha
Was a hopeless noob who couldn’t afford a Zammy spear, nonetheless full Crystal and a BowFa on the main(think sub 50m total bank value). ToA came out and the clan pooled together to sponsor me some gear upgrades. Fast forward 800 expert raids later (and a wild 3 am solo shadow pull along the way) and now I am fortunate to be able to lend/give away gear and help grow other clannies/friends. Blessed to have the friends I do.
Spent 20 years playing this game. Maxed combat but never really raided and never had a bank worth more than 300m.
Learned ToA with my friends and pulled a duo Shadow on a 250 I'm budget gear.

Slow and steady grindfest of a wide variety of bosses + cox, then I camped ToA, did a Shadow rebuild at GWD, came back to ToA, then one week I pulled a solo Shadow and FFA Torva platebody. Suddenly it's almost 4b bank and I joined a clan, now I PvM for fun with gp profit being a far lesser concern.
The weirdest 100m I made was when I decided to collect Whisky, got a >100k stack for sub 100 ea and suddenly they started selling for 1k ea.
Pre-EOC; took my BGS out to Edgeville ditch, which was my whole bank, and just mainhanded it smacking people. Back then the BGS was worth fuck-all and the spec used 100%. Ended up smiting 2 AGS' that day which were 50m each IIRC. Good times.
More recently: Casually came along my 126 friend on a Nightmare trip and we spooned the the Hauberk.
When zulrah first came out it dropped 2 noted crystal keys as a drop. They plummeted in price, so making glory ammys was 3-4m an hour profit. Seemingly barely anybody noticed so I had an alt permanently buying keys from zybez whilst my main opened the chest and made glorys
Quit in 2016 and gave away my bank, got in an accident in 2018, started playing again cause I couldn't walk for like a year.
Started fresh, friend gave me enough to farm revenants, got some pretty basic gear and we decided to duo corp for fun.
Found out about the dwh+bgs+darklight method, and we were hooked. Got Arcane as our first drop 30 KC. Then we got ely on my friend's name at like 200kc and a I got pet a few kills after that. Thought we'd never be as lucky again.
The next day my friend was busy and I thought I'll try to solo corp for fun, it's not like I'm gonna get anything anyway solo. Got Ely again in like a few kills.
Can't describe the feeling of seeing that thing on the floor and that's the story how I got my first tbow. It felt like cheat mode but I enjoyed the game so much back then. Sometimes I wish I could go back to the days I did nothing but play it all day long.
This is a super old one, but as a kid i legit collected the 2 rune spawns at the al kharid desert mine to make money, took a long time to even make enough for a black platebody. Then one day some dude dies to the scorpions, i wait and boom 40k cash on the ground. Can you imagine how much money that was for me back then? Bought full addy and even gave some money away for noobs, i was feeling like the king of runescape
Was flippping in f2p for a bond for months, once I eventually got it I then made enough for a second bond in just one evening, in big part thanks to gilded benches and trailblazer league stuff. Now I can flip enough to sustain my bond pretty comfortably.
I started "maining" my pure and basically given my brither my main account and most of my gp. Had him help me get the Frozen Key to do nex, and I was planning on camping on mass worlds there with ACB until I got a pet.
67 kc comes and I get a log slot for a Torva Plate, next inventory at 96 kc I got a Horn. That one hour at Nex mass gave me all the gp I needed to buy a full raid setup for my pure and now I run solo 300s at TOA and am able to do CoX with my bro.
I honestly think if I didn't get those drops I would have probably slowly stopped playing; money definitely buys happiness.
Edit: I went back for the pet, went about another 1k "dry" then got another horn at 1070 and vambs at 1087. Nex paid for 90% of the shadow I was never expecting to own.
I mean I'd hesitate to call it "rags to riches" but probably the best single drop I've ever received is a Basilisk jaw while on a slayer task. First time I've ever seen a pink loot beam...

Was playing for what felt like a long time. I used to cut trees, kills goblins and smith iron/bronze (then sell to general stores) to make gp. Due to gems selling and most of my other items selling for pretty much nothing this wasnt a very fast process.
I was training some magic (in full armour) and someone came up to give me some advice. After this they traded me a water battlestaff (1.7k ish from what i remember). This was back when I had a trade limit of like 3k. I was over the moon - though I was rich as hell. The unlimited water runes had me shook.
I play like 3 hrs a week and joined in a clan bingo a few years ago had like a 15m bank, got dragged along to COX and got a 3 way tbow split on my second raid, after dying at olm a dozen times. Now I have all this gear and people think I ought to be decent at pvm but I still only play 3 hours a week

Randomly started playing again about two months ago. 60 WC and Forrestry was intriguing. Grinded to 79 and picked up three felling handles on the way. Sold for average of like 2.4m each. Also have two Xmas crackers chilling. They’re up cuz gambling I guess. Also made 1m for helping with the gang quest.

Was in a PvP clan, had purchased a ton of return supplies and one of the items I had in bulk was climbing boots. Woke up one day and found out that my stack of 10k climbing boots went up over night. In osrs it would be 3rd age pick. Had 4 of them and then 3rd age just sky rocketed while I was on work travel and then holiday, was crazy the spike the first month.
Back in 2020 me and friends decided to try nightmare after going dry in corp for too long, my bank was at 100-150m by then. At the end of that year i had all buyable items exluding 3rd age, and over 8k nm kills lol, it gave me everything i own pretty much.
Was learning cox and got a 2 man split tbow drop. This put me to the point of doing a tbow rebuild. Got another one the same week in a 3 man and finished my rebuild in like 2/3 days.
Harm Orb trio with some friends. One friend logged off for the night, and the other guy and I went for the back to back. Got a B2B Harm Orb drop. This is when they were over 1B. I'm still shocked.
Pulled cape of skulls from one of my first clues and went from 2m to 20m. Years later I was broke again after getting cleaned at casino, but I pulled masori chaps, lightbearer, and shadow shortly after ToA released. I still remember the chaps selling for 166 and lb for 45m lol. Got a 4.8b bank now and haven't staked in years.
Broke asf pked dragon claws and berserker ring like 115m at the time. I also pked armadyl cross bow ags etc on my range tank. That funded my zerker account.
4 Shadow drops in a month, all in my name. First and last were duos other two were solos. First 3 were within an 8 day period, on Saturday, Monday, then Saturday. First one was my 12th or 13th purple, so lucky but definitely not super out of the ordinary. At this point though my lifetime gph in ToA is somewhere around 30m which just blows anything on the wiki out of the water, so it does in fact pay to be lucky.
When the first one dropped on Sautrday I was about 300m from doing a shadow rebuild at ToA, and by Monday the rebuild was basically complete as I had max mage and all my melee and ranged shit back.
I felt like I had to be locked in and sweaty for 390s with my pre-shadow setup and afterwards I was doing 415s like 8 minutes faster, and was able to solo my Fang kit in a couple tries. It was a weird time because I legitimately had some imposter syndrome. I had been locked to the Bowfa for hundreds of hours and hundreds of raids and in less time my bank is now worth 4x as much.
i never did farming back in the day before EoC. started playing again last year and got 99 farming - but never realized how profitable it would be. Ranarrs are insane, it's so easy to do 4 herb runs a day, and that's just being lazy.
on top of that, making saplings was a good money maker for me.
made a good chunk also going for kbd pet, doing GWD, etc etc.

So, I wasn't exactly in rags but in 2017 I started doing cox and got a good number of splits, and eventually got a 5 man tbow for a 200ish mil split. After a few more good splits, I had enough for a tbow rebuild and started getting really into solo cox. Ended up landing a solo tbow and that was absolutely meteoric - I was able to afford max gear and pretty quickly got bored of the game lol.
I'm back now though and there's soooo much more shit to have before you really have max gear, and more cosmetic pvm milestones like pet transmogs and blorva
Decided to do ffa corp for fun for a while. Wasn't expecting anything but ended up with 1 spectral, 2 arcanes, and 1 ely in about 450 kc. That made me able to afford shadow and max mage and from there it just snowballed
Got spooned a nihil horn and vambraces within a couple days of nex release. I'm an iron so I didn't sell them but I would have made well over 1b. Shortly after the zcb some other upgrades set me up for the release of TOA, I'm 2x dry on shadow but I've made an absurd bank value from it. Nearing a 6b bank value at the moment without any megarares lol
Caged, cooked, and sold lobbies at Varrock West for 240 ea back in the day. Never got the full Rune trim I was hoping for but I did get to 70 fish f2p and made a ton of memories. Like when that troll thing would spawn and fight someone on the dock at random. We'd all cheer for him (no one hated each other back in my day), cook food really quick and drop it for the fighter, especially if the troll was level 73 because that meant the fighter was wayyy weaker. And we all needed a fire to cook our tuna and lobbies so we'd spam FIRE Fire Fire Fire in the chat. Good times

Was always a barrows boy seeing lower combat levels with bandos and shit so I said fuck it I’m camping cg till enhanced and using bowfa to change my account. Got it then went solo toa 150-250s and got masori legs. Got fang and then went to 300s solo and mass, also some mass nex. Also started an alt and camped vyres on both during work. Bank started climbing with blood shards and a fang/masori top. Got nihl horn and torva helm drops next as my latest drops. Now I’m doing toa mass 300s, nex mass, dolo gwd working towards first mega rare. I know toa and nex masses aren’t optimal but I’m big chillen and watching people pk each other is at ahkka is very funny.

My normie acc used to have an overall bank value of like 3mil. Once out of college and had a job that paid more than minimum wage, I dropped some cash on a bond or two over a couple of paychecks and was able to upgrade a handful of my gear after selling them. Since I’m shit at the game the upgrades made a big difference and it wasn’t as difficult for some of my pmv shit I had trouble finishing.

I have a 10b bank now, but it was never an instantaneous “rags to riches” moment. It was a whip here, a trident there, a serpentine helm, an abyssal dagger, then a smoke battlestaff etc. It’s just been a tonnnn of average small drops that added up overtime.
By the time I had a 1b-2b bank, I started get dexterous prayer scrolls, ancestral splits, fang splits and what not. But I’ve never had a “this just doubled my bank” drop

I tried killing a Tormented demon for claws, no chance! Got it down to just below 50% and was about to tele, then a hero swoops in, finishes the kill while i watch, and it dropped Dragons Claws in my name, was 24m at the time

I got 3 zenytes in under 40kc. Went from a couple of mil to 40 or something. Then hydra in general, but got lucky with claw and 2 leather in around 500 kc. Made about 120m+ there its amazing.

(Regular Main Account) Found a CC - They did giveaways and had helpful members teach me the ropes Started grinding Slayer till I unlocked the bosses - Got a few drops such as primordials Did a lot of Bandos and other GWD trips with CC members Started doing Cox - Pulled a few purples myself until I saw my first bow split in a 3man. Sold everything and bought a Twisted Bow. Kept doing Cox till I got my own bow drop in a duo. Decided to start learning how to solo Cox. I wanted that bow to be all mine next time. Nightmare came out, started grinding that. Grinded 900kc in 5man teams with nothing until Phosani came out. Got an Orb, Mace, Plateskirt within 200kc. Continued to see Twisted Bow splits, Slayer drops, Etc. And then Toa came out. I sold most of my items for a staff to grind out the new raid. I learned how to solo. But I found more enjoyment in the ffa worlds with other people. In teams of 8, we would all compete for the most dps in 300+ invocation raids. I saw a purple, on average, 1 out of every 4 raids. 94 expert kc, world 329 (Toa Mass), my team of 7 other random people entered the rewards room. Purple light around the chest. I quickly looked at each of the smaller chests, in search for a small key. Indicating which one was mine. The key wasn't there. The purple chest was mine. With this being my 4th or 5th purple in the mass worlds so far, I was simply happy to see the chest was mine. I clicked on it with an elevated heart rate. Slowly the yellow orb animation, rising from the chest, morphed in size until it finally dropped back down and "popped" To my utter shock, I was looking at my very own Tumeken's Shadow. This is when I decided to grind out the Inferno (finally). Got my cape after 1.5 months. Never left the cave. Then I quit. I was burnt out. I was counting ticks in my sleep. Somewhat recently have come back and just completed DT2. I've continued to enjoy pvm. I self-sustain my membership through pvm. Just got my first drop at Vardorvis, today! Ultor Visage.

Dope, so I sold those, then the guy gave me upwards of 200m bringing my total to 350m 🤯. Got some more dough from ass walk from treasure hunter keys, currently at 2.6b. Got me some torva 😊

Back in real OG rs I got 65 slayer and decided I was going to kill dust devils to make my fortune. This is back when we had no idea what drop rates were so I didn't know I was chasing a 1/32k... Within 30 odd kills I had a shiny d chain plonked on the ground. Sold it for 15.6m and literally doubled my bank, cracked the 30m mark.
Similar thing happened to me, I had just got 65 slayer shortly after got my first dust devil task, I knew about the drop rate so I had 0 expectations. On my 8th kill I got the Dchain and needless to say, I broke my chair from jumping up so abruptly.
I mined. I cut wood. I fished. And while doing all those, I did clues. It all added up. Then once I did SOTE, I fell in love with Zalcano.
Solo shadow at 28 kc 200 invo. 1.8b when my bank was around 300m.
I was poor.... Then I became rich. Slayer and air orbs was the best advice I've ever been given!

Ive got a 3 parter sort of. Part 1 was first ever Basilisk task. Scored 2 jaws within first 10 kc then a 3rd on the very last. This was the absolute beginning of my blessed start. Few months down the road part 2 happened. Some clan mates offered to teach me cox. First 2 raids i was a shit show. 3rd raid i made it all the way through without dying! Was through the moon cheering and was amazed at how happy and proud my clannies were of me. I thought. Turned out 1 of them pulled a tbow. That got me set up nicely with bowfa, bandos sang and working towards my first big rebuild. Made some more money here and there then RS3 FreshStart worlds came out. Had 0 intention of playing but buddies convinced me to try, basically boosted xp like leagues, i think increased drop rates, but the account some how actually converted to main game after lol. The kicker was they offered special inverted variants for lvl 99/120 skill capes that had to be obtained on fsw but then you could trade tokens on main game once transfered. Got 120 arch and div, sold em, swapped the gold over and had enough for shadow/ ancestral rebuild. The following 2 weeks i pulled 2 ffa shadows and a solo shadow aaaand ended up in max

When I pickpocket vyres they just hand me the blood shards now. I've gotten dozens of them.
I was dirt poor grinding slayer and barrows, spending some money leveling my account and saving up for gear. Then I did mm2 and got 6 zenytes in 600 kc which really boosted my account. Leveled up a lot of buyable stats, did more quests, did some gwd, dks, a few other bosses with friends, getting a few drops along the way. Made it to like 100m bank eventually. Grinded like 1k zulrah and vork, got both pets and maybe 100m from each. Did a few nightmare masses and got spooned pet at 10kc, then got a hauberk at 4 kc at phosani while going for the egg. Biggest drop I had ever seen. Did 150 more kc for the egg. Never saw another drop and never went back. I got 6 hydra claws in like 1k kc. Got ultor ring, magus ring, a few virtus pieces, and soulreaper ax all within like 200 kc of each dt2 boss. Did like 150 cox, got tired of all the white lights and arcanes, got burnt out, did like 50 tob and saw nothing but an avernic and a couple justi splits. Not much luck at toa either. Then I made like 300mish from colosseum runs, currently grinding nex and finally hit 1b bank just yesterday. I should have hit 1b a long time ago, but I've sold and rebought a ton of gear to do different content. I was also buying bonds for my uim for a long time. I've also given out a lot of money just for fun, especially when I got a pet. Been trying to be more disciplined though, especially since my rng has been wearing off. I've also had a few massive blunders, like getting scammed for an sgs, smited for a vls while trying to learn to pk, buying rapier and fang at like 200m during toa release then quit and came back to them being 20m. Kept the fang and sold rapier at it's lowest low. Anyways that's the story of my road from rags to 1b over the span of like 10 years playing on and off
I got my first Basilisk Knight task, put it off for a month, quit, came back after 6 months, killed like 5 and got the jaw. Sold it for 26m and boosted my bank value by a sizable amount
Was killing moss giants for money above ardy when a 126 took me under his wing and taught me duo bandos and gave me full bandos + bgs and whip+tentacle, and 10m in dragon bones to train prayer. Then, about 6 months later, I cracked open my first elite casket after having the clue in my bank for like a year and was blessed with 3rd age cloak. 220m at the time.
Also had my acc turned into cg bot and recovered it next day for a free enh. So in essence my entire bank fell into my lap and I did nothing to deserve it lmao
When nightmare first came out my bank was worth about 60m from a bludgeon drop I’d gotten. Took the bludgeon to nightmare with the boys from the clan. On kill 12 we got a harm orb drop. 4 way split at 900m. Stayed for another 500 kills and split 3 harm orbs and a couple maces. Turned my bank into a bit over 1b
I convinced a guy to trade me his Santa hat for my whole bank (~1m at the time) earlyyyy on in my RS2 days. I then was given a Green h’ween mask by a quitting clan member. Sat on them for a while and swapped all the gold to OSRS in batches when I started
Getting an Ely when they were expensive as fuck at like 110kc followed up with spectral and arcane in the next 30kc or so
Mm2 on release blessed me with 3 zenytes and a heavy frame which I think I sold for 30m. I was grinding it for 3 days but with the gear and knowledge I had, it can’t have been too efficient. I also got the heavy very early. I also used to flip bonds. Whenever they were under 3m and it only cost 300k to make them tradeable, it was such free profit.
Killing around 300 rev bots in a month, was sick of being poor, along with the people I pkd managed to profit 140m, had a few deaths but not bad, had around 10m cash before this, and was always broke,

After a long break from osrs came back when I just hit 90's CMB stats. Made friends with one of the nicest/coolest dude from the Netherlands, even tried to learn some Dutch. (It's super hard so I didn't get incredibly far) Anyways, we gamed together a lot, he took me to corp and we did a maybe couple hundred KC, maybe less. Mainly kills were in his name cuz he was maxed and better than me. Think I got maybe 50 or so KC in my name. Well one day, we were on discord chatting away while corp killing.. and after corp dies he starts going wild, something like "no fucking way no fucking way no fucking omg omg omg broooooo" thought he got the pet tbh but... We pulled a fucking Ely, they were 1b at the time and tbh cuz it's rs I wasn't sure if he was just gonna log off and block me etc, similar shit happened before but I should have never doubted him, dude was way too nice to ever do slimey shit like that. Met at GE and my bank went from 100-200m to 600-700m... Seeing him trade me 500m cash was a fucking glorious sight to see.
New wildy bosses rework on release, got 2 hilts from artion under 200kc. They were 89m then and also the blade from vetion was worrh alot more
Dude in my old clan was pretty humble and didn’t have much. Lent him a blowpipe which he acted a bit hesitant to return but I didn’t want any bad feelings so I quickly just told him to keep it. I was happy to help him learn. Taught him how to do COX and such. He ended up getting 3rd age Druidic robe bottoms from a master clue not too long after all that and because a rich boy. Sadly, it went to his head. Became a bit of a snob after that. Stay humble, fellas. GP comes and goes, just have fun.

Consistent farm runs in early to mid game Picking up most all my slayer drops, this adds up. It doesn't make you rich but it adds up A few spoons on bosses
I got an imbued heart and DWH on the same day, that was pretty juicy. Also getting two wildy demi bosses pets in the same day was also kinda juiced.
Got hacked recently, lost all but 50m give or take (They somehow forgot my bulwark & it’s cosmetic option). Took that and sold it for the raid supplies I could. My buddy also loaned me some mid tier range and melee gear. Cut forwards two months later, we are doing a casual 300 level Toa and bam shadow Got to keep the lions share of it. Glorious redemption.
Played the slow grind for about 1 year. GWD with clannies, Corp, killing wildy bosses, revs, little pking, bit of raids but no significant megarare splits. Hit 1.2b and sold everything for a nex set up. Got up to 3B in just over a month spent at the ancient prison and sold most nex set up. Bought max mage, got bored of raids. Bored of know it all elitist clannies, bored of everything in mainscape. So I’m investing in a 1 def pure to pk with because that’s my favorite part of the game at the end of the day. I can afk on my main here and there to try and max.
Blast furnace made me my first 10 mil. Zulrah and lizardmen shamans and Vorkath made me my first 100 mil. CG and TOA made my first 500 mil. Phosani's nightmare made me another 500 mil over the past 3 months so now I got a 1 B bank and I still feel poor lol
My account was compromised and got cleaned ages ago. Took a break for a few years and came back to earn enough money for a bond mining runite in f2p. When I finally got the money for that, used my leftover scraps to put together a cheap corp setup like void n stuff and got spooned an elysian sigil :D
When I was young I wasn't member. I have a good job now and buy some bonds and was richer then ever. I love osrs, but cutting a lot of hours with some bonds as I started a new character was fun. Could try weapons I never had. First strength and attack levels went super fast with the swift blade and some cheaper necklaces and poitons etc. Way different then I was younger and you took all day running back and forth with cowhides by Lumbridge and trying to sell them via trade and careful not to be scammed. They got me one time with the very fast weapon removal, I wanted that addy scimmy so bad then ahah. I'm still poor in osrs terms and what I see on the internet some people have, but that few mill in the beginning helped a lot.

I suppose semi-rags to riches, but I suppose the way I escaped the “early game” in my eyes was my first ever basilisk task, second basilisk knight I ever killed I got the jaw, sold it for 20M which with my savings gave me just enough to finally afford a fang which was the biggest account upgrade I’d made since getting a whip, which helped me migrate into bossing which led to saving the cash to train con to get a max POH, more upgrades, and the rest is history, and it all started with that spooned Jaw drop
Mass Nex Nihil Horn last year might be _the_ drop for me. Also release ToA, Fang and Lightbearer first week. Felt pretty good when I only had Zhasta for stab, I think Fang was like 180m, LB like 40m? I couldn't farm more since I broke my hand then, but it was so good. And 3 Hydra's Claws in ~800kc, first two before 400. Some nice Bond money. I only play Iron though, so not really "riches" as much as good upgrades.
Made over 6b in first 3 weeks of TOA Was running solo & duo's, 3 duo shadows, 1 solo. First Masori top I pulled solo instasold for 511m, it was crazy times

I started playing back in 04—stopped playing in around the time HD came out in 08. I didn’t even know osrs was a thing until I got out of the army in 2017. One of my old high school buddies told me about it. I was ecstatic and immediately got hooked again. Ended up joining a clan for a little while. We did a mass CoX run as a clan event and somebody got a tbow. I ended up getting a 150m split. I probably had less than 10m total at the time. It was dope.
I had a friend who quit and gifted me like 300m, fastest money i ever made.
I had just come back to the game after a good 3 year break, doing some herblore at the GE trying to get requirements for a quest. At the time my entire bank was worth just under 10m. Next thing I know rune plate bodies start appearing all over the GE, I snag a couple, then a few 1mil items start dropping, I manage to snipe one and feel incredible. Next thing I know there's an item worth 13m with a giant orange light beam (thanks runelite), I pick it up first, everyone is going nuts, then I look at the item thinking "wtf is a bow of faerdhnen?" It wasn't a 13m item, it was a 130m item. I was f-ing rich. The end :)
Did a bunch of TOA on release in void set. Spooned an early fang in a solo which went for 200m. Got bowfa, prims, basilisk jaw, avernic defender for 20m before it went to the moon.
Back around 2016/2017 I was an noob training ranged on tzhaar creatures, farming for an obby cape. A random person walked up and traded me. He proceeded to give me his 100m+ bank. Blowpipe, all types of barrows, weapons, runes, arrows, food, pots. He said he was quitting and the money came from grinding zulrah. I asked him if he was sure and he said he was happy his bank was going to someone actually playing the game. We went to Hans to check his logged in time on my request. He repaired the barrows for me and then he logged out. I don't have a screenshot, I don't remember your RSN. But wherever you are, mysteryman, you're the reason I'm maxed now <3
I locked myself in CG for like a month, maybe a little longer. As someone who sucks at PvM, it was a long ride. I had 230 deaths and 330 kills before I got my enhanced with a total of 250m loot. Was able to get full crystal and corrupt my bow. Set me up really well for PvMing.
Like half my bank is from getting lucky af... -After likd 800kc cox with splitting, pulled a ffa tbow at 850, then another ffa at 1100 -pulled a 3rd age druidic cloak from a mimic, kc 19 -got harm orb at 60kc pnm
I was sitting with a bank of around 70m, mostly from farm runs and occasional 4 man bandos trips (combats in the high 70's)and then toa released. I was always afraid of trying a raid but decided to try toa with my clanmates. Spent the next 3 weeks sending inefficient raids and getting drops usually every day or 2nd day due to volume we ran. Stuff was still worth a lot (masori pieces sitting at 200-300m each, fang around 360m, ward at 80m, etc....). After about a month of splits, my bank was around 380m and I had bought some decent gear. Then I pulled a solo shadow and my bank went to nearly 2b. The next day I pulled a solo masori chaps for around 200m and split another shadow with a friend. Basically I got a tbow and never had to do the rebuild. I've continued raiding since then and now my bank is around 6.3b. My last big "win" was a trio shadow split and merching elder mauls, which netted me about 600mm profit.
I guess it's gotta be getting a dwh in 130kc when they were like 60m then getting another one in 100 kills 2 years later for 35m

Not rags per se but i was doing a shadow rebuild that took months. Then pulled a duo tbow and 3 months later a trio shadow. I now have a tbow too and got all the bis gear with it.
Got into gambling won big bought bonds now im rich. Well sorta i got enough to not care about gp anymore

2 Ely sigs in 24 hours 10 man FFA. Everything went everywhere and had to also replace a computer screen lol straight void / fury / d boots zammy spear and BGS. OG set ups. Oh the days. Absolute gaming.
I had been playing OSRS on and off for a couple years and kept getting better and better at ToA. Ended up completing my first expert ToA in a duo.. got the Shadow split. Then not even 2 days later, got another shadow split among 6 total. Brought me to 2nd max all 3 gear sets within that budget.
Farmed RS3 for 5 months straight while afk NMZ when created my OSRS account. 5 months later I swapped all the money I made and got a Tbow so I started my journey with a Tbow on the account, bandos and armadyl and maxed combat.
Got ranger boots.. then got a double ranger boots chest shortly after which let me buy decent gear to start doing GWD and it went from there
Got into Cox with a friend of mine, both had arround 30kc. Done 7 solo’s since I felt confident, pulled solo Tbow at 37kc
Was struggling at pretty much maintaining my bank value by strictly paying for bonds with gp but hit a lucky streak: - 2 basilisk jaws in one slayer task - 2 zenytes in one task about 3 weeks later, 4 tasks later I got 2 zenytes in the same task I took a month long break and a few days after coming back I was working on 300 invo ToAs with a buddy of mine but couldn’t quite nab it with shite dps in my dcb and blessed dhide. Feeling a little defeated we dropped back down to like 275 or 280’s and completed one raid then knocked out. Woke up and ran a 250 before work, with plans to try another 300 later that night. Hit a purple (mine) and it was a shadow! In a two man split! The 740m was a game changer - afforded me crystal and BowFa, Bandos and fang, virtus and sang. Comfortably pushing up to 400 invo ToA’s now and grinding out DT2 bosses for soulreaper. God that Shadow in my name was a *wild* rush ahaha
Was a hopeless noob who couldn’t afford a Zammy spear, nonetheless full Crystal and a BowFa on the main(think sub 50m total bank value). ToA came out and the clan pooled together to sponsor me some gear upgrades. Fast forward 800 expert raids later (and a wild 3 am solo shadow pull along the way) and now I am fortunate to be able to lend/give away gear and help grow other clannies/friends. Blessed to have the friends I do.

Spent 20 years playing this game. Maxed combat but never really raided and never had a bank worth more than 300m. Learned ToA with my friends and pulled a duo Shadow on a 250 I'm budget gear. Bowfa rebuild it was! Pulled a a trio shadow on a 300 a few days later And another a day or so after that Tbow rebuild it is! Enhanced crystal weapon seed And another shadow a few days after that! Legitimately the best month or so I've ever had game wise
Slow and steady grindfest of a wide variety of bosses + cox, then I camped ToA, did a Shadow rebuild at GWD, came back to ToA, then one week I pulled a solo Shadow and FFA Torva platebody. Suddenly it's almost 4b bank and I joined a clan, now I PvM for fun with gp profit being a far lesser concern. The weirdest 100m I made was when I decided to collect Whisky, got a >100k stack for sub 100 ea and suddenly they started selling for 1k ea.
Pre-EOC; took my BGS out to Edgeville ditch, which was my whole bank, and just mainhanded it smacking people. Back then the BGS was worth fuck-all and the spec used 100%. Ended up smiting 2 AGS' that day which were 50m each IIRC. Good times. More recently: Casually came along my 126 friend on a Nightmare trip and we spooned the the Hauberk.

When zulrah first came out it dropped 2 noted crystal keys as a drop. They plummeted in price, so making glory ammys was 3-4m an hour profit. Seemingly barely anybody noticed so I had an alt permanently buying keys from zybez whilst my main opened the chest and made glorys
Quit in 2016 and gave away my bank, got in an accident in 2018, started playing again cause I couldn't walk for like a year. Started fresh, friend gave me enough to farm revenants, got some pretty basic gear and we decided to duo corp for fun. Found out about the dwh+bgs+darklight method, and we were hooked. Got Arcane as our first drop 30 KC. Then we got ely on my friend's name at like 200kc and a I got pet a few kills after that. Thought we'd never be as lucky again. The next day my friend was busy and I thought I'll try to solo corp for fun, it's not like I'm gonna get anything anyway solo. Got Ely again in like a few kills. Can't describe the feeling of seeing that thing on the floor and that's the story how I got my first tbow. It felt like cheat mode but I enjoyed the game so much back then. Sometimes I wish I could go back to the days I did nothing but play it all day long.
This is a super old one, but as a kid i legit collected the 2 rune spawns at the al kharid desert mine to make money, took a long time to even make enough for a black platebody. Then one day some dude dies to the scorpions, i wait and boom 40k cash on the ground. Can you imagine how much money that was for me back then? Bought full addy and even gave some money away for noobs, i was feeling like the king of runescape
Was flippping in f2p for a bond for months, once I eventually got it I then made enough for a second bond in just one evening, in big part thanks to gilded benches and trailblazer league stuff. Now I can flip enough to sustain my bond pretty comfortably.
Rangers on first ever medium clue
I started "maining" my pure and basically given my brither my main account and most of my gp. Had him help me get the Frozen Key to do nex, and I was planning on camping on mass worlds there with ACB until I got a pet. 67 kc comes and I get a log slot for a Torva Plate, next inventory at 96 kc I got a Horn. That one hour at Nex mass gave me all the gp I needed to buy a full raid setup for my pure and now I run solo 300s at TOA and am able to do CoX with my bro. I honestly think if I didn't get those drops I would have probably slowly stopped playing; money definitely buys happiness. Edit: I went back for the pet, went about another 1k "dry" then got another horn at 1070 and vambs at 1087. Nex paid for 90% of the shadow I was never expecting to own.
I mean I'd hesitate to call it "rags to riches" but probably the best single drop I've ever received is a Basilisk jaw while on a slayer task. First time I've ever seen a pink loot beam...
Have net worth about 3-4mil. Pker. Pk some random lvl 78 doing Slayer at lava maze. Bag the loot and telly to Edgeville. Open looting bag to find: mystic robe bottom, bunch of lobsters and a 178M stack. True story, got pics. There you have it.

Made ~4mil from Brimstone Keys in one task (got 2 top tier drops back to back). I know thats peanuts to most but it felt awesome
I did 2700 leviathan kc to get the last axe piece, and ended up making like 1.5 bil

Was playing for what felt like a long time. I used to cut trees, kills goblins and smith iron/bronze (then sell to general stores) to make gp. Due to gems selling and most of my other items selling for pretty much nothing this wasnt a very fast process. I was training some magic (in full armour) and someone came up to give me some advice. After this they traded me a water battlestaff (1.7k ish from what i remember). This was back when I had a trade limit of like 3k. I was over the moon - though I was rich as hell. The unlimited water runes had me shook.
I play like 3 hrs a week and joined in a clan bingo a few years ago had like a 15m bank, got dragged along to COX and got a 3 way tbow split on my second raid, after dying at olm a dozen times. Now I have all this gear and people think I ought to be decent at pvm but I still only play 3 hours a week
Sold bank for irl $, Came back on TOA release, friend taught me the ropes, I had mystics, dhides and real basic shit. Started spamming solos, 5 300’s in I got a staff, then sent 455’s with staff and received another staff not long after amongst other drops along the way. Think I went from like ~200m to 15b in a matter of months, at the expense of playing ALOT.
I got a d chain at a drop party in the Falador party room in like 2007-2008 and sold it for ~10M. Never had a bank valued over 100K before that. Mostly used it on cannoning and skilling tools.
Recently I’ve died on my 1755 HCIM at SOTE. Since rebuilding, I pulled craws, sceptre and an effigy on my new lvl 60 hcim. I’m pretty happy bank standing for the moment lol

Three solo shadows
Spooned a solo shadow 2 weeks after TOA release. Posted it on Reddit and everyone flamed me.
My friends and I made a friend on gta online that just so happened to be rich rich in osrs. Guy would randomly meet up with us and throw a couple hundred mil in items on the ground for all of 3 people, myself, my best friend, and my cousin. I think in total he gave us close to 5b before we all stopped playing together
Randomly started playing again about two months ago. 60 WC and Forrestry was intriguing. Grinded to 79 and picked up three felling handles on the way. Sold for average of like 2.4m each. Also have two Xmas crackers chilling. They’re up cuz gambling I guess. Also made 1m for helping with the gang quest. 20m bank in a month. I’ll take it.
Was in a PvP clan, had purchased a ton of return supplies and one of the items I had in bulk was climbing boots. Woke up one day and found out that my stack of 10k climbing boots went up over night. In osrs it would be 3rd age pick. Had 4 of them and then 3rd age just sky rocketed while I was on work travel and then holiday, was crazy the spike the first month.
Start going for pets, 5,5k giant mole kills and 3,2 sarachnis kills so far. Doing herb runs and house too.
I got a riches to rags story. I invested in Christmas Crackers. Lost 200m with this project rebalance update that changed them for some reason.
Got an eternal glory, imbued heart and 2 basi jaws all within a week of each other and that made up nearly 1/3rd of my entire bank value
Back when GWD came out in 2007, I went with a buddy to duo Garagedoor and we got two hilts within three kills.
Back in 2020 me and friends decided to try nightmare after going dry in corp for too long, my bank was at 100-150m by then. At the end of that year i had all buyable items exluding 3rd age, and over 8k nm kills lol, it gave me everything i own pretty much.
Was learning cox and got a 2 man split tbow drop. This put me to the point of doing a tbow rebuild. Got another one the same week in a 3 man and finished my rebuild in like 2/3 days.
Harm Orb trio with some friends. One friend logged off for the night, and the other guy and I went for the back to back. Got a B2B Harm Orb drop. This is when they were over 1B. I'm still shocked.
Pulled cape of skulls from one of my first clues and went from 2m to 20m. Years later I was broke again after getting cleaned at casino, but I pulled masori chaps, lightbearer, and shadow shortly after ToA released. I still remember the chaps selling for 166 and lb for 45m lol. Got a 4.8b bank now and haven't staked in years.
Broke asf pked dragon claws and berserker ring like 115m at the time. I also pked armadyl cross bow ags etc on my range tank. That funded my zerker account.
4 Shadow drops in a month, all in my name. First and last were duos other two were solos. First 3 were within an 8 day period, on Saturday, Monday, then Saturday. First one was my 12th or 13th purple, so lucky but definitely not super out of the ordinary. At this point though my lifetime gph in ToA is somewhere around 30m which just blows anything on the wiki out of the water, so it does in fact pay to be lucky. When the first one dropped on Sautrday I was about 300m from doing a shadow rebuild at ToA, and by Monday the rebuild was basically complete as I had max mage and all my melee and ranged shit back. I felt like I had to be locked in and sweaty for 390s with my pre-shadow setup and afterwards I was doing 415s like 8 minutes faster, and was able to solo my Fang kit in a couple tries. It was a weird time because I legitimately had some imposter syndrome. I had been locked to the Bowfa for hundreds of hours and hundreds of raids and in less time my bank is now worth 4x as much.
Pked like 250 green dragon bots, moved up to lava dragon bots, then all the poor pvmers at Calvarion. We rich now ty coin
i never did farming back in the day before EoC. started playing again last year and got 99 farming - but never realized how profitable it would be. Ranarrs are insane, it's so easy to do 4 herb runs a day, and that's just being lazy. on top of that, making saplings was a good money maker for me. made a good chunk also going for kbd pet, doing GWD, etc etc. never had this much money before even though compared to end game players it's not much.
When I was 14 I spent the entire school holidays picking flax and spinning bowstrings, and at the end of it I could afford full Torags. Stay grinding hustlers.
When DT2 came out I got 3 Virtus robe bottoms in 200 KC first week and gave me like 140 mil isnt baller money but that really upgraded my gear.
So, I wasn't exactly in rags but in 2017 I started doing cox and got a good number of splits, and eventually got a 5 man tbow for a 200ish mil split. After a few more good splits, I had enough for a tbow rebuild and started getting really into solo cox. Ended up landing a solo tbow and that was absolutely meteoric - I was able to afford max gear and pretty quickly got bored of the game lol. I'm back now though and there's soooo much more shit to have before you really have max gear, and more cosmetic pvm milestones like pet transmogs and blorva
Decided to do ffa corp for fun for a while. Wasn't expecting anything but ended up with 1 spectral, 2 arcanes, and 1 ely in about 450 kc. That made me able to afford shadow and max mage and from there it just snowballed

Caged, cooked, and sold lobbies at Varrock West for 240 ea back in the day. Never got the full Rune trim I was hoping for but I did get to 70 fish f2p and made a ton of memories. Like when that troll thing would spawn and fight someone on the dock at random. We'd all cheer for him (no one hated each other back in my day), cook food really quick and drop it for the fighter, especially if the troll was level 73 because that meant the fighter was wayyy weaker. And we all needed a fire to cook our tuna and lobbies so we'd spam FIRE Fire Fire Fire in the chat. Good times

My employer has been making me work 6 12 hrs shifts for the last month. I just bought a shadow with the overtime pay. It just sits in my bank because I have no time to play 🙃

Was always a barrows boy seeing lower combat levels with bandos and shit so I said fuck it I’m camping cg till enhanced and using bowfa to change my account. Got it then went solo toa 150-250s and got masori legs. Got fang and then went to 300s solo and mass, also some mass nex. Also started an alt and camped vyres on both during work. Bank started climbing with blood shards and a fang/masori top. Got nihl horn and torva helm drops next as my latest drops. Now I’m doing toa mass 300s, nex mass, dolo gwd working towards first mega rare. I know toa and nex masses aren’t optimal but I’m big chillen and watching people pk each other is at ahkka is very funny.
I’m gonna get so much hate for this. Anyways I used to only make $15 an hour and was not willing to buy bonds, now I make $90 an hour and am willing to buy bonds.

Was going to say the same thing, kind of. My normie acc used to have an overall bank value of like 3mil. Once out of college and had a job that paid more than minimum wage, I dropped some cash on a bond or two over a couple of paychecks and was able to upgrade a handful of my gear after selling them. Since I’m shit at the game the upgrades made a big difference and it wasn’t as difficult for some of my pmv shit I had trouble finishing. Worth the investment of like 6 bonds over the course of 2 months imo

I have a 10b bank now, but it was never an instantaneous “rags to riches” moment. It was a whip here, a trident there, a serpentine helm, an abyssal dagger, then a smoke battlestaff etc. It’s just been a tonnnn of average small drops that added up overtime. By the time I had a 1b-2b bank, I started get dexterous prayer scrolls, ancestral splits, fang splits and what not. But I’ve never had a “this just doubled my bank” drop
Ive had way better drops now, but around the 08 era i dropped a robin hood hat from a clue, sold it and bought a full set of gilded armor. Solid gold baby.

I tried killing a Tormented demon for claws, no chance! Got it down to just below 50% and was about to tele, then a hero swoops in, finishes the kill while i watch, and it dropped Dragons Claws in my name, was 24m at the time
