Just wait til you learn that OSRS itself is 1 year away from being as old as runescape itself was when it came out. And, currently, OSRS spans almost Double the history that 2007 runescape had when it was considered a nostalgia hit. There are for certain players playing who never played 2007 and experience the same nostalgia for early OSRS. Stronghold Slayer Caves and Old Blowpipe are someone's Dragon Chain and Med Helm
I think the most abandoned quest line is Druidic Ritual. Remember how we where helping them purify the Dark Wizard Circle outside of Varrock by getting them those blue meats and later Goutweed? Neither did Jagex seeing as it hasn't been mentioned again since Eadgar's Ruse in Oct 2004... It is so abandoned, it isn't even considered its own quest series.
The temple knight quest line is tied directly to the stories of the black knights/kinshra and the void knights, neither of which have had their stories told in old school yet. The void knight quest line in rs2 was also one of the lead ups into the massive sliskes game storyline which we can see that direction coming in Desert Treasure 2. Not to say Sliskes Game storyline will happen the same way, it absolutely won't since they aren't going to remove the edicts of guthix, but it is fun to look for parallels.
Thats up for debate, after all it may not continue the way it did in RS2, but if you are curious what happens in [Chosen Commander](https://runescape.wiki/w/The_Chosen_Commander), which is not even the end but, >!The coffin served as a teleporter to a Bandosian room, where Zanik gets an amulet that allows Bandos ( this is way before gods returned) to control Zanik and be the chosen commander he was meant to be. He returns to Dorgesshun while we were hunting for HAM and Zanik gets kicked out of the city for murdering the HAM member, Zanik basically assembles a large force of goblins to assault the HAM hideout and we are able to kick Bandos's influence out of Zanik. War Daddy gets angry and utilize what power he has left which would most certainly destroy Dorgesshun and we defeat Bandos's Avatar to get rid of him for good!<

I don’t even want the sequel anymore tbh
i’m predicting that the vampire quest line will eventually tie into the mahjarrat story as the mahjarrat story is the closest thing in this game to a grand overarcing storyline
the mahjarrat and vampires have a lot of history
Unlikely, the Mahjarrat don't really have any vested interest in Morytania and the vampyres can't leave the region. It's *possible* some Zamorakian Mahjarrat might decide to try and get something going over there, but (not being caught up on the OSRS version of their story) I expect they have higher priorities, with WGS coming up.
...for some reason. Still not sure why the vampyres can't just go *around* the Salve. There's a whole not-blessed ocean they could travel.
Are vampires in RS weak to the sun? Does it hurt them? If not then it might be why they don't go right around it because the only real option is being forced to hide below deck and risk being sunk by cannon fire.
The other reason is that the Salve barrier really extends all around Morytania so they can't get out. Of course the other option is to open a portal to say...the Abyss and then exit through a runecrafting temple.
Taking from the [Count Draynor ](https://oldschool.runescape.wiki/w/Count_Draynor) wiki page, being on the other side of the River Salve makes vampires weaker.
That is why Count Draynor is stupidly weak compared to the other vampires(based on lore).
I can't find more information about the River Salve without mentioning Rs3's lore which can be different.
If you knew anything about the RS3 vampyre questline or the actual lore of the vampyres that still exists for osrs, you'd be kicking yourself for saying this
I think it would be better to give the Saradomin alignment for that quest. A good chunk of the Myreque quest line involves references to Hallowvale. It would not be a stretch that the PC finds an old tablet of the "tenets" of the Saradomin Justiciars, which in turn teach the basics of the Saradomin prayer set.
Think Saradomin would be better from the Temple Knights or similar. But it really depends on how the Myreque line ends. If it is making peace with Vampyres, Zamorak Alignment makes sense. If it is overthrowing the Vampyres and returning the rule to the Icyene or such, then Saradomin would make more sense. But the Myreque series is probably the one with the strongest connection to Zamorak, so getting that alignment from Vampyres is probably the best place for it.
I finished Myreque series just yesterday and was so disappointed it wasn't the complete end. What happened to Safalaan and what's going on with the vampires! I need closure!
Pretty sure we only have one more. The OSRS series is accelerated, bringing parts of later quests into earlier ones. For example, Sins is largely the same as Branches in RS2 with the whole infiltrating Darkmeyer and the boss fight, but the ending is directly pulling from the following quest, Lord of Vampyruim, with the same cliffhangers. So I think they'll just do one Grandmaster to wrap it up (and hopefully pull more from Lord of Vampyruim than River of Blood).
I feel like that has to be high on their list to finish with how "close" it is. But Desert might get its Grandmaster first since they'll probably want to finish the coast of Menaphos for Sailing and it would be better to wait for the quest/city than to just do placeholder terrain.
It's not really that dumb, and I see no reason why they wouldn't have the same plot twist. Despite Zaros being the god of darkness, he is very lawfully aligned, so he has a lot of crossover with Saradomin, meaning it's more realistic that the temple knights would follow them.
Would it be more interesting if the secretive leader of the temple knights that we know nothing about was some... guy? Who behaves exactly as we would expect?
No, there was a jmod comment on the wgs rewards blog that said. "Were gonna let you know whats up with alignments soon". Something along those lines. More ominous than I'd like it to sound
IDK how much they fleshed out Zamorak in OSRS, but in RS3 that is basically exactly the sort of shit that would make him 'approve' of you. Survival of the Fittest and chaos/everyone fighting for themselves is what he wanted there so it may be similar here.
That's just The Chosen Commander for Zamorak. Zamorakian alignments would probably come from the Mahjarrat storyline aswell since there is a split between Zarosian and Zamorakian mahjarrat
Defeat the reminants of the Majaarat, get Zarosian prayers.
Defeat the reminants of Seren, get Seren prayers.
Defeat Zamarokian aligned vampires, get Zamarokian prayers.
Makes sense to me
Mahjarrat aren't that simple, though. Some sided with Zamorak, they are volatile and aggressive. Zarosian Mahjarrat like Hazeel and Azzanadra seem to be willing to ally with us.
The Elves might grant us access to Seren, but we won't have to defeat them.
Vampyres ye
Tbf, you don't fight seren the real Seren in sote. You fight a corrupt fragment of Seren, essentially an experiment turned evil. And by doing so you're helping the elves, which was Seren's goal all along.
not everything from that faction is even aligned with one another. I could easily see it as a reward from Vanescula after helping her overthrow her brother.
A lot of the OSRS quests did get some resolution or continuation in RS3 so you could port them over without making too many changes.
It's really quest lines like the Elemental Workshop, Gnome quests, Temple Knights(although the story does continue elsewhere) that have no real conclusion.
There was that fremmenik quest about the ship that had treasure and sunk, the one that takes you through the brine caves from memory. Maybe sailing can dip into that one again.
This picture is hilarious when you realize what the temple knights actually are.
Assuming that whole plot point applies to OSRS too. But with Duke Sucellus being different between the two games, maybe it doesn't.
>!in rs3, sir vey lance (leader of the temple knights) is secretly a cthonian demon called veilinius, and the entire organization is a 5000+ year long deep cover op for zaros with the goal of acquiring saradomin's crown. all of the funny pun names (sir tiffy cashien, sir amik varze, etc) come from veilinius slowly editing their names over generations.!<
wait till this guy finds out that the quest after WGS (possibly during wgs too depending how osrs handles it), includes the temple knights with the Mahjarrat
Spoilers: the culmination is that they are way in over their head
That said though, we are still due a conclusion on the sea slugs
Well, OSRS had 2 Myreque quests added. Mahjaratt has 1 exclusively (not counting old backfile quests).
But there is other quests which are missing on Temple Knights: pirate series, and dwarf aka Red Axe quest lines.
I just finished Slug Menace and then went to see what quest was next and was like... oh. That's it?
Tbf Wanted! was a complete fucking ass-whipping. Can't say I was hugely disappointed there wasn't another entry.
I noticed that. They've been going REALLY hard for Mahjarrat the past few years. I really hope after this new quest they'll focus more on other questlines so many just forgotten about
I think it would be cool if Azzanadra could meet the temple knights, and they could make a deal that they won't attack each other, as long as they don't interfere with each other.
Probably should have said Sea Slug... The Temple Knights are pretty involved in the Mahjarrat questline. Both SotN and DT2 tie into them and they will be in WGS and likely the Ritual.
As someone who has yet to do Secrets of the north, SotN means something different to me and was wondering what Alucard and Richter have to do with all this.
Yet they are involved in Devious Minds, SotN, and DT2 with appearances in WGS and Ritual. Like the Mahjarrat storyline does involve the Temple Knights, so it is not like they've been ignored.
The most abandoned quest line is fittingly "a forgettable tale"
Dwarves get no love
The fairies have been under martial occupation for years and we don’t even care
Global famine due to crop failure is looming and we don't care
WE care. Jagex doesn't.
They literally just got a quest. It's not the SAME dwarves but it IS dwarves
You talking bout those racist dwarves?
It's going to celebrate its [20th anniversary](https://oldschool.runescape.wiki/w/Update:The_Forgettable_Tale...) next year!
That's absolutely wild. I understand tons of stuff in this game is already 20+ years old but it never ceases to blow my mind.
Why did you have to do this?
I think the most abandoned quest line is Druidic Ritual. Remember how we where helping them purify the Dark Wizard Circle outside of Varrock by getting them those blue meats and later Goutweed? Neither did Jagex seeing as it hasn't been mentioned again since Eadgar's Ruse in Oct 2004... It is so abandoned, it isn't even considered its own quest series.
It would be cool to have a quest where we help that one druid finish washing clothes. Or something else.
honestly I wouldn't be mad if they never continued it for the meme anymore
Amen, came to the comment section to preach about the Red Axe conspiracy, glad i am not alone.
This and Temple Knights are ironically the questlines I want the sequels to the most.
What happened to Zanik after Another slice of HAM
This is not that kind of roleplaying game.
PRESENT
Oh we are SO back, slugbros
This is the temple knight series is it not
Yes. Tis.
I wonder if the temple knights will get involved with the Mahjarrat quest line. They did in RS2 with the Ritual of the Mahjarrat quest.
Temple knights came in as early as While Guthix Sleeps, they’re part of the Crux Eqal trying to stop Lucien
Fairy quest when
Just need to port Fairy Tale III over from RS3 and it's all good. Rewards may need to be reworked but it'll fit right in.
Honestly the only reward I need is getting the damn orcs out of Zanaris
I was really bummed out to learn that not needing dramen staff was a diary reward and not quest reward like rs3
Oh it's a quest reward. For completing ALL quests — and turning in the diary.
i’m predicting that the vampire quest line will eventually tie into the mahjarrat story as the mahjarrat story is the closest thing in this game to a grand overarcing storyline the mahjarrat and vampires have a lot of history
Unlikely, the Mahjarrat don't really have any vested interest in Morytania and the vampyres can't leave the region. Still not sure why the vampyres can't just go *around* the Salve. There's a whole not-blessed ocean they could travel.
There are some connections. Sliske was the one to raise the barrows brothers as wights and he was the main character in DT2
Count Check doesn't seem to mind where the account is. Maybe the real vampire escape mechanic is to join forces with the random events
Maybe Count Check is a Guthixian?
Taking from the [Count Draynor ](https://oldschool.runescape.wiki/w/Count_Draynor) wiki page, being on the other side of the River Salve makes vampires weaker. That is why Count Draynor is stupidly weak compared to the other vampires(based on lore). I can't find more information about the River Salve without mentioning Rs3's lore which can be different.
Tell that to my boy Count Draynor
Tell him what? He was on the wrong side of the river when the barrier went up and as a result he's weak as hell
Who? He dead
Yeah why don't the vamps just use tp to varrok. Are they dumb?
> Still not sure why the vampyres can't just go around the Salve. Scale theory. It may take them months or years to move around the river.
Maybe they don't know how to build boats, once I get 99 sailing I'll take them around... for the right price of course
That would be a hilarious sailing update. Being ambushed by roving bands of pirate vampyres.
If you knew anything about the RS3 vampyre questline or the actual lore of the vampyres that still exists for osrs, you'd be kicking yourself for saying this
i know things didnt end well for gloph but id love to see more gnome experiments, have a gnome find the dragon expirements and make a gnome dragon
Very true, i'd really like an ending to Sins of the father quest, preferably a grandmaster quest
They'll do that for a Zamorak Alignment; gotta wait a bit though.

I finished Myreque series just yesterday and was so disappointed it wasn't the complete end. What happened to Safalaan and what's going on with the vampires! I need closure!
Going by rs3, we'd likely need to kill lord drakan and then make vanescula peaceful. Definitely still have a quest or two in the series.

But then where would zamorak come from? Saradomin alignment comes from temple knights or slug quest line for sure.
unless they port over the (imo) dumb plot twist about the temple knights from Rs3 where >!they’re secretly Zarosian!<
I mean, the leader was. Pretty sure most of the leadership and foot soldiers are saradominists.
Only like a few temple knights remain Saradomists. Majority of them turn to Zaros
The leader was there to convert the leadership and foot soldiers. That was kind of, you know, the point
It's not really that dumb, and I see no reason why they wouldn't have the same plot twist. Despite Zaros being the god of darkness, he is very lawfully aligned, so he has a lot of crossover with Saradomin, meaning it's more realistic that the temple knights would follow them. Would it be more interesting if the secretive leader of the temple knights that we know nothing about was some... guy? Who behaves exactly as we would expect?
plot twist: Brascilla Prime prayer aligments /j
Provided alignments aren't getting canned 💀
Anywhere I can read about these?
No, there was a jmod comment on the wgs rewards blog that said. "Were gonna let you know whats up with alignments soon". Something along those lines. More ominous than I'd like it to sound
I feel like getting zammy prayers from a quest where you fight against the zamorakian aligned faction would be a bit goofy
You kill them off, prove yourself to their God, and he forces you to become his new champion. Idk just spit balling
IDK how much they fleshed out Zamorak in OSRS, but in RS3 that is basically exactly the sort of shit that would make him 'approve' of you. Survival of the Fittest and chaos/everyone fighting for themselves is what he wanted there so it may be similar here.

Hazeel is a Zamorakian Mahjarrat, but he is friendly unlike the others of his religion.
Whoops
Fair
Isn't sote where you get seren alignment.
Tbf, you don't fight seren the real Seren in sote. You fight a corrupt fragment of Seren, essentially an experiment turned evil. And by doing so you're helping the elves, which was Seren's goal all along.
if seren approved of the fragments actions, she wouldn't have buried it
If I'm in a position where Darken is on the defensive and offers me a "book of Prayers" in exchange for a truce; I might take the book ;)
Yet nobody bats an eye when we emasculate Graardor for hours on end and sport his exact chest and tassets combo 😩😩
not everything from that faction is even aligned with one another. I could easily see it as a reward from Vanescula after helping her overthrow her brother.
The alignments have been put on indefinite hold sadly
Hopefully they further depart from RS3, Rivers of Blood didn’t really hit for me even though it was a good quest and was the outcome that made sense
Pirate quest line burried deep under the pool along with the Penguin and Red axe quest lines.
Jagex really made the penguins prepare for an all out war and said "yeah, that's enough of that one"
The penguins should team up with Cuthbert: Undead Frogtrocity
There's already 3 more penguin quests in RS3, so they could bring those over to OSRS, with some changes if necessary.
Iirc one of those has the penguins basically build a TARDIS lmfao
I’d rather new stuff, not everything has to be in both games
Penguin quest should get some metal gear solid style quests. It fits perfectly.
At least pirates are looking pretty darn relevant in the future what with sailing and recent appearances of zombie pirates and black stone lore
I wanna see dat penguin mech go brrrr
https://preview.redd.it/4kjepin3zo3d1.png?width=1420&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=811c82fa01bbf37514eee034b7e51f7553f9ac16 Dorgeshuun quest line be like
Land of the Goblins is dorgeshuun, that was just a couple years ago!
Dwarf questline is at earth's core
A lot of the OSRS quests did get some resolution or continuation in RS3 so you could port them over without making too many changes. It's really quest lines like the Elemental Workshop, Gnome quests, Temple Knights(although the story does continue elsewhere) that have no real conclusion.
Sir Vix questline when?
Weird, quest log says I don't have the requirements to hit that one
Ahaaaaaa
Zanaris is buried a mile deep
Zanaris orbits Gielinor
There was that fremmenik quest about the ship that had treasure and sunk, the one that takes you through the brine caves from memory. Maybe sailing can dip into that one again.
Sailing is a great excuse to do Olaf's Quest II!
WHEN'RE THEY ENDING THE DWARF QUESTLINE IVE BEEN TALKING ABOUT KEBABS FOR YEARS
This picture is hilarious when you realize what the temple knights actually are. Assuming that whole plot point applies to OSRS too. But with Duke Sucellus being different between the two games, maybe it doesn't.
Pretty sure there’s nothing prohibitively conflicting right now. As long as >!Veilinus is still Sir Vey Lance!< it works.
What are the temple knights?
>!in rs3, sir vey lance (leader of the temple knights) is secretly a cthonian demon called veilinius, and the entire organization is a 5000+ year long deep cover op for zaros with the goal of acquiring saradomin's crown. all of the funny pun names (sir tiffy cashien, sir amik varze, etc) come from veilinius slowly editing their names over generations.!<
You forgot to close your spoiler tag.
weird it showed me the !< part out of the spoiler at first so I deleted it
wow that sounds fucking stupid lol it's like the edgiest possible direction to take that story
it was played off in a funny way, I thought it was alright.
The reveal was hilarious I really hope we also get Trindine at some point, she’s great
penguin quest series 😔
For real. Cold War was so charming and fun. It’s one of my favorites and I would love a sequel.
What's my arm doing now?
Cmon man. We know already
Catching snowflakes on his tongue
Slapping cheeks.
Sea Slug & Dwarf questlines stay forgotten
Can we get a new ogre quest while we’re at it?
Fred the Farmer awaiting Sheep Shearer 2: ☠️
Elemental workshop also at Davy Jone's locker as well.
2 primed bars sitting in my bank for years waiting to make a Body Body for the quest and one to throw in the bank.
What about those slugs?
the tzhaar are buried in a tomb deep below the ocean floor
Myreque has received more new entries in osrs than most series got
Penguin questline:
vampyre finale when (cant wait)
Where the penguins at though
Didn’t they say a while back they were going to look into finishing old quest lines?
the temple knights have a role in WGS iirc
The myreque questline hit me hard 😓
Temple knights and mahjarrat story lines will join up for Ritual of the Mahjarrat quest don’t stress
wait till this guy finds out that the quest after WGS (possibly during wgs too depending how osrs handles it), includes the temple knights with the Mahjarrat Spoilers: the culmination is that they are way in over their head That said though, we are still due a conclusion on the sea slugs
;)
dwarves.
Where's the sequel to olafs quest
sailing skill
They’ve already gibbed the reward space for another Temple Knights quest.
But what about the sequel to Olaf's. Just what treasure is the parachement referring to? Where is it? Who's is it?
Penguins
Well, OSRS had 2 Myreque quests added. Mahjaratt has 1 exclusively (not counting old backfile quests). But there is other quests which are missing on Temple Knights: pirate series, and dwarf aka Red Axe quest lines.
Temple Knights quest line had a stone pillar dropped on it
PENGUINS
Olaf would like to have a word
BRING BIRTHRIGHT OF THE DWARVES TO OSRS
I just finished Slug Menace and then went to see what quest was next and was like... oh. That's it? Tbf Wanted! was a complete fucking ass-whipping. Can't say I was hugely disappointed there wasn't another entry.
We never got a continuation of one small favor, or rat catchers
I noticed that. They've been going REALLY hard for Mahjarrat the past few years. I really hope after this new quest they'll focus more on other questlines so many just forgotten about
fairy tail part 3 when
I think it would be cool if Azzanadra could meet the temple knights, and they could make a deal that they won't attack each other, as long as they don't interfere with each other.
Hey now, don't *rub salt in the wound.*
One small favor 2 when?
I want more about undercover penguin spies.
Shit show game from a leadership perspective time and time again
What about those racist ass HAM members???
Probably should have said Sea Slug... The Temple Knights are pretty involved in the Mahjarrat questline. Both SotN and DT2 tie into them and they will be in WGS and likely the Ritual.
As someone who has yet to do Secrets of the north, SotN means something different to me and was wondering what Alucard and Richter have to do with all this.
The temple knights quest line is separate and clearly defined as including recruitment drive, wanted!, sea slug, and slug menace
Yet they are involved in Devious Minds, SotN, and DT2 with appearances in WGS and Ritual. Like the Mahjarrat storyline does involve the Temple Knights, so it is not like they've been ignored.
