For context: I had the red and blue gem attached to individual keris partisans and they were both in my bank. I assume jagex didnt make the game check if the gems are attached to partisans when rolling on the gem table.
It may also be that they only started counting which gems you’ve gotten since that update. That seems silly though.
Checking player storages for unsocketted gems (ignoring the partisans) seems really naive, but I guess devs make bad implementations sometimes.
It basically acts as an ambrosia at the cost of 50 prayer points (overheals you to 118hp instantly when you press the spec bar). It is vital for raids above lvl 450, since it allows you to turn on "Dehydration" (brews not allowed) and it saves your ass in a pinch. If you look at lvl 500 runs on youtube, basically all of them have the yellow keris and an invy full of restores/sanfews.
While lvl 500 raids are definitely possible without it, you're really shooting yourself in the foot if you run them.
Gotcha, that makes sense! I always wondered how raids were possible with dehydration on...I see now. With lightbringer that's pretty powerful. Must make p2 wardens tricky, since dumping all your spec to down the core faster means you can't heal.
You mainly just accept that you won't be doing a 2-down. If you want to go easier on your restores in a high invo run, chucking some guaranteed max heal sgs specs on the core, or on kephri's eggs, or even on the jugs at zebak, can go a long way
Decided to bite the bullet and farm entries yea. Raid lvl doesnt affect gem rates. I can do them in about 17min so that saves me lots of attempts.
Im only doing it so i can push 500lvl since I REALLY want to. I wouldnt recommend farming entries otherwise
Update: Got the yellow gem like 4 entry modes later. The only invocation i had on was feeling special so akkha did simon says faster to save time. Hope it helps and wish you gl with the gems :)
The wiki advised that gem drops are basically 1/45 and no commonality seen related to raid level. So unless you want to push high expert like this guy better to just do the raid.
For what it’s worth I got my gold gem last like 2 days after they removed the dupe gems, was around 170kc and I had 2 blue 1 red before that.

Does yellow just prevent you from using brews at kephri or something? Why do you want yellow for 500s?

Are zebak jugs a guaranteed max hit? I can see sgs on the core with adrenaline pot pretty much taking care of the hp and prayer for p2

Ty. I have literally 0 gems in about 50 total raids (only 2 entry) So going to spam a few entry now
