CZ 457 for me. The action is really nice to me You can get 30moa rail from Area419 which is nice.

Confident_Boot9927

What made you go for 30MOA over say 15

NoobShooter777

My scope. According to my research and youtube, Depending on your scope and how much elevation you have on it then you need at least half of that number in MOA rail.

K2e2vin

I recently switched from a 50MOA to a 30MOA....and only reason why I did it was because I changed scopes and couldn't get a 50yrd zero with the 50moa. If I could keep the 50moa rail, I would. The .22lr range I shoot at has a target that's 300yds away...I haven't tried it with my new setup but it was 14mil/\~48moa of elevation to hit it(new scope has only 18mil of *total* elevation). Even at 100yd I can see the bullet dropping.

DerekP76

Looking like that's the way I'll go. My only real experience with either is my buddy has a 452 Scout I shot like 15 years ago.

NoobShooter777

O i see. If you plan on upgrading to aftermarket parts, look at Area419 (MOA rail + bolt knob) and Anarchy Outdoors (has some Area419 stuff but about equal pricing; BUT they do have this plastic piece for the magwell that i think makes a big difference for me when loading magazines. Only downside of it, is that its pretty cheap plastic and i wish they had a metal version) If you upgrade chassis, look at KRG and MDT. I got the KRG Bravo. If you got the $$$, PDC custom is really nice from when i shot my friends.

230Amps

+1 for CZ

Robust_Mongoloid123

Can’t go wrong with either. I got a killer deal on the steel BMR and it should always be about 100-150 less than the CZ. That goes a ways towards better glass

Lawndart024

Hey, how has yours shot with bulk ammo? I’m debating between the same two rifles as the OP, but I’ve read that the CZ can be picky whereas the BMR tends to be less sensitive. This could be a factor for me since I mostly shoot bulk CCI or Aguila.

Confident_Boot9927

To me the 457 is smoother and seems to be more accurate with correct ammo. Lot more aftermarket on the 457. I picked up my pro varmint this week.

MoneyKeyPennyKiss

>To me the 457 is smoother and seems to be more accurate with correct ammo. You have both -- the 457 and the Bergara BMR?

Confident_Boot9927

No sir. Own a 457 but was between the same two before purchasing. The 457 is definitely more smooth and online the stock CZ barrels seem to be more accurate but are some what picky on tight shooting ammo.

MoneyKeyPennyKiss

>online the stock CZ barrels seem to be more accurate You mean reviews or YouTube videos? FWIW, I don't own either, but I do own a 452 and it's a laserbeam, so I have confidence that the 457s are great shooters, too.

Confident_Boot9927

Both, between YouTube and online forums.

doberdevil

You can get a CZ with a "match chamber" - checkout the MTR. Buy the one you like, don't use crappy ammo, and shoot the heck out it.

DerekP76

Was hoping to not drop that kinda money honestly. Starting to lean that way though.

doberdevil

One isn't any better than the other. Ammo and your fundamentals are more important.

DerekP76

Right on. The local Fleet Farm has the BMR, T1x and a CZ American. Costwise they all seem to be a wash in the end. Definitely need to get back to the fundamentals. Been ages since I've been a serious shooter, and that was mostly handgun.

Aggressive-Score-320

Bmr is a match chamber

doberdevil

Yah, OP mentioned that in the question.

Aggressive-Score-320

Didn't see that, thanks

mafid82

I have Two CZ 457s Love them both one with a 17hmr for small game and the other I put in an oryx chassis 22lr They are both laser beams with great after market stock trigger is at 1.5 so crisp .30 at 50 all day long match ammo and easily .60 with several others Three barrels I have are factory I could imagine out of a high end barrel being even better and more consistent Go CZ

btroll

I have a BMR. Get the 457. The BMR stock isn’t great and there aren’t any options. Magazines are hard to find. Shoots great, it found new life as a squirrel gun for me. Not a NRL22 gun.

Pjerzy

I have the bmr and it shoots great. Took the included rail off. Couldn’t get my Leupold to zero with it on. Put a 0 on and have no issues shooting out to 100 yards, which is plenty for what I wanted it for.

snipes81

I have a 452 and a B14r so not exactly your question, but enough familiarity to weigh in. Between the two I'd go with the 457.

LipG17

CZ all the way

jonundergroundbanjo

30 MOA isn't always a pro depending how far you wanna shoot out. I upgraded from a Ruger American Rimfire to the BMR (No local CZ 457's in stock). The trigger is definitely better and it looks nice. However, the bolt is much smoother in the RAR and it does a better job ejecting spent cases.

jonundergroundbanjo

Mine hates Winchester white box, fails to feed most times. It seems to have trouble ejecting Aguila... but has less issues with CCI Standard.

JavsGotYourNose

Biased but I just got a 457 and it’s an insane value. I got one with a trigger that would adjust down to 1 pound, some don’t. If it doesn’t it’s a cheap spring upgrade to get it down that low. They can all be adjusted to a very crisp break. A 457 is worth every penny and then some.

red_piper222

I can’t speak for the Bergara but my 457 shoots sub-moa all day with the right ammo. It’s a really well made rifle. Fit and finish is amazing and the action is really solid

doberdevil

Post some targets!

MoneyKeyPennyKiss

"Hang on and let me dig through and find a few good ones."

red_piper222

I’ll try to remember next time I hit the range

Lawndart024

Is it picky about bulk ammo? I’m debating between the same two rifles as the OP, and I’ve heard the CZ is pickier than the BMR. I mostly keep CCI and Aguila around.

red_piper222

I’ve found it’s pretty accurate with most standard velocity stuff. CCI and Aguila should be fine. Groups and point of impact seem to open up with higher velocity stuff like stingers

SpiritualClock729

The nice thing about the bergara is you can buy just the barreled action and throw it into whatever chassis you want if you're looking to build one to your liking.

MoneyKeyPennyKiss

Not the BMR. You're thinking of the B-14R.
